How do you do 'em?

fall asleep with mascara on

OOO, I'll watch this one with intrest - I end up with panda eyes

i'll second what Capp said... only time i get them right is when i've worn makeup to bed

the trick is apparently to go easy and not apply too much which is where my heavy handedness lets me down

ok
get a SOFy dark GREY eyeline imo
get a white.cream highlighter
get a slatey gry eyeshadow( or dark purple more flattering imo)

put higlighter al over eye area

then get eyelines and line along top lid adn outer bottom bit

smudge gently

then get smaller brusha nd do the grey?purple on TOp of the top eyeliner and take it into the socket
make sure there is a bit of white in the inner corner as that majkes the eyes sparkle and look more awake

its a great pruple colour aen goes dfab wiht the lancome "quetsch"( pruple) eye liner

dd got a jemma kidd dvd on how to do smokey eyes for her b'day,sorry haven't watched it,but dd and her friends had a go,looked great ,but they used bright green!

One q though: when you say 'white.cream highlighter', do you mean a white-coloured cream, or a white- or cream-coloured eyeshadow?
Or is there a special product called a highlighter?
Another q actually when you say, put it all over the eye area, do you mean up to the browline?

Can smokey eyes work as a daytime look or do you just end up looking like you forgot to clean off last night's makeup?

do not use strong slipstick at same time

smokey eyes too much for daytime IMO - but I do exactly waht cod said for daytime but use a less dramatic lighter colour in place of the dark grey - e.g. green or not-as-dark-as-navy blue.

No7 do a good 3 eyeshadow pallette taht has the dark, teh highlighter and an inbetween.

would like to add that a few false eyelashes are great with smoky eyes for night time

clinique have a nude highligher that i put on the brow bone bitty, and the inner corner if looking tired, comes in a tube. smudge eyeshadow and kohl, few false lashes, mascara

wear smoky eyes with nude gloss lippy day time and pillar box red lippy for nighttime

you can also do smoky eyes in other colours like green, grey, violet etc

lancome have a gorgeous violet mascara

close your eyes and put it over the socket iyswim

can add some to outer corners for dramatic effect

I ahve a gorgues set of urban decay ewyeshadows thatdo dreamy smoky eyes, the secret is in good brushes, I ahve a mixture of benefit and body shop ones thatdo the job well.

I do smoky eyes in the day but just tone it downa little and nude coloured lips.
