So summer is around the corner probably and we're looking forward to crops, short sleeved tops and flipflops Grin

Come and tell us all about your summer purchases, high street or high end, we love it all.

Am meeting a friend at a really cool new tea house place this morning.
Wearing my La vie parisienne Etre Cecile tee with faithful Paige Jimmies and Stans - looked in the mirror and thought damn I should have worn this to the MU but have decided that it is so rare I get to this kind of thing that I will make more of an effort.
No idea what that actually means outfit wise though Hmm. Weather is so muggy and damp it is hard to dress for.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 11/05/2016 12:37

Love all the stan purchases.

Marsha what did you keep from your order in the end? I liked the red knit for you. I like the Mara inspired dress a lot but seems quite different to your usual style. Do you wear the TS Unique floral skirt you bought a while back much?

Shop I am wearing an Etre Cecile top today - this one - I am really drawn to their stuff. Along with jeans and white birkenstock as I don't want to admit the weather has gone down the pan again.

Look forward to hearing what everyone is wearing to the MU.

I know the type of jacket you mean Mara - I think I have seen lots on pin.

shopafrolic · 11/05/2016 13:15

Love that Bernice - perfect for you. I wanted the tee with the big C on (you'll know why) :)

QueenC · 11/05/2016 14:25

Cycling in this weather is not conducive to looking stylish. Ive basically looked like a drowned rat in the office all day.

Does anyone have anything that they really like and thinks suits them and then sees a photo and completely changes their mind....? I've seen photos of me with my Radley cross body bag which i love in the summer but it looks truly shit Sad Grin. I think it's probably too structured for me. I may sell it which means I then need a new grey crossbody bag Wink

Stokey · 11/05/2016 15:32

I think cross-body bags often look quite unflattering in photos (and so I guess in RL) especially if you have any kind of boobage.

I love sweatshirts and jeans for their ease but think they make me look a bit dumpy.

Love your Etre Cecile sweatshirt Bernice. Didn't your feet get wet in Birkies? It's been chucking it down here.

I know what you mean Mara, maybe a duster trench a bit like this? I think I'm a bit short to carry one off.

Popped to Cos earlier and bought this navy oversized top. I first looked for it in dresses, not sure about how they've styled it - hopefully it brings out my inner waif. I like this black midi skirt too, just felt very functional in a way the Scandis do so well.

Laughing at the cheeky wedding money thread, can't believe it's been picked up by all the national press.

FedupNagging · 11/05/2016 16:53

Oh god, the curse of the cross body bag - I have photo's from last summer and hadn't realised how awful I looked Shock Sad. So now I only wear a cross body bag over a coat or jacket.

Marsha the style of the red jumper is definitely you but depends if you can wear red. Yes to the yellow ts; I love the equipment dress but not sure it's 'you'.

Good on your dd Dry; he sounds like such a tool.

Queen I won't be gong uber casual - I'm sick of jeans so will hopefully be in white trousers and sandals - If not, it'll be the stans as they are super comfy.

Like the top Stokey.

QueenC · 11/05/2016 20:39

Phew, glad it's not just me with the cross body bag thing. It wasn't sommuchnthe boobage that was the problem but just where it was hanging. Can't explain it really but I see all these pictures on pin of effortlessly cool people with their cross body bags and then I see me. Dare I use the f word and say I looked frumpy.

Just been wearing my silver shoes round the house and so far so comfy. Regent St will be the test though after that doesn't matter as the prosecco will numb any blisters

stokey what will you wear the top with?

QueenC · 11/05/2016 21:52

looking stunning as always dry (scroll to pic 3 if needs be)

AmberNectarine · 11/05/2016 22:40

Oh you do look like her dry! I often get told I look like VB. Yeah, give or take a couple of stone and about £100m

I may have ordered some new shoes with the MU in mind...

Dreamqueen · 12/05/2016 06:59

I'm getting very excited about MU & may need to do some emergency shopping to bring me up to S&B level.

Need to catch up on here, only had miminal time on internet for the last 2 weeks, but normality should be resumed tomorrow.

Stokey I love that Cos top, I'm planning to get to town early on sat so that i can browse Cos and &Other Stories.

Dreamqueen · 12/05/2016 07:29

Forgot to say that I had my eyebrows done at the weekend & I love them. Not having to squint in the mirror every morning to fill them in has been wonderful. They will need a (free) top up in 4 weeks to fill in any gaps then wont need fiddling with for 18 months.

libertydoddle · 12/05/2016 08:50

Will be OK for 18 months!!! That sounds great impressive dream. Will need to know more about that.

Today I am wearing the Uniqlo navy culottes, cream LKB shell top, Mango cropped, boxy cream jacket and Elia B leopard print loafers. A day of jumping on and off trains between meetings awaits!

libertydoddle · 12/05/2016 08:51

Excuse my incoherence....great impressive??? Must start using preview...

VivaVegas · 12/05/2016 12:14

I'm intrigued Dream, what gave you had done?

maradesbois · 12/05/2016 13:30

Afternoon,

Stokey yes, that's the sort of thing. Saw a nice looking one at mango.

lib great-sounding outfit. Bet plenty of women appreciated it on your commute as example of looking well put together.

Loving the sunshine today, the humid weather was playing havoc with my hair and energy levels. Ootd is gap white broderie top and same jeans as yesterday but turned up above ankle with navy Stella blazer and navy gigis. Thought I'd got away with the gigis by pairing with some tailoring but someone at school said I looked 'beachy'.

Can't wait for Sat! Dream don't make panic buys for mu, it's really not a bunch of fashionistas scrutinising each other, can promise you its all very friendly and relaxed. Looking forward to meeting you and justa and catching up with all the other familiar faces.

shopafrolic · 12/05/2016 14:25

I meant to say that earlier too Dream don't make special purchases. Half the time I can't even remember what people are wearing by the time I stumble home Grin
My DF had a fall last night - second one since he's been home. Met with a consultant at the hospital who pretty much said this is how it will be now. Hard for DF to hear (and me) :(

Dreamqueen · 12/05/2016 16:47

Viva I had my eyebrows micro bladed at the week end. Eyesight without glasses is rubbish. I kept drawing them on wonky!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/05/2016 16:52

oh shop i hope he's okay. it must be very hard for all of you right now Thanks

i am crippled with hayfever currently, my doctor has changed my antihistamines so hopefully i'll get some relief once they kick in.

i am so pleased as I am now consistently a smaller size in jeans and shorts, my two biggest nightmares, so very happy with it but would like to get smaller yet

QueenC · 12/05/2016 17:32

shop that's hard. I assume they've done all the falls risk assessments?

Office at work is a bit airless in this heat. Need to find some summer dresses for work.

LinusLovesBretons · 12/05/2016 17:45

mara my hair is a mess with this humidity as well. Am tempted to have a blow dry in London before the MU. Grin

I have to pack tomorrow but I have no idea what to wear. I want to be comfortable as I will do a lot of walking but stylish at the same time.

Flats will be a given and probably jeans as well so I'll have to bling it up a bit with my accessories.

I can't believe that this time tomorrow I'll be on my way to the airport! I need a couple of nights on my own after the week I've had

shop your poor DF. And how is your DM coping? This must be very hard for her as well?

libertydoddle · 12/05/2016 18:45

Linus how exciting. It's makes the MU feel even better to know one of the attendees is coming from another country!!!

shop hugs and Flowers for you. Your DF is so lucky to have you.

Mara thanks for the lovely compliment. I did like today's outfit.

dream I echo what everyone else said about not going panic shopping for the MU. We all like clothes but no one is remotely judgy. My memories of previous MU's are of the great chats and laughs with a really lovely bunch of women not the clothes.

MarshaBrady · 12/05/2016 18:49

Absolutely Lib and Linus, very international, very vogue!

Am back, have had a really glorious and funny time in the country at a massive manor house. Really good fun, got drank loads, good activities and had a blast all round.

The Hunters were perfect as we did really muddy walks and wore the yellow t today and was good. Making me think I might keep the Joseph skirt, as well as red jumper, will try it on again.

MarshaBrady · 12/05/2016 18:58

Mara so sorry! I couldn't think of anywhere good in the end, glad you had a really lovely time. Will be fab to catch up. I haven't seen a trench like that out in the world, but I can imagine it what it looks like, sounds good.

Stokey me too, I'm very light on summer stuff. Great COS buys

Shop wear it anyway, we won't know.

Bernice I loved that jumper when I saw it last year! Nearly bought it but people weren't keen for me, I still really like it, am tempted. Bet it looks fab on you.

QueenC and Fedup I can't do cross body, it's not my style at all

Dream will be ace, don't worry about new stuff, am sure you will look great

Shop sounds really tough for everyone, sending hugs Sad

Lib love your outfit.

MarshaBrady · 12/05/2016 18:58

Amber great if you can make it!

Drywhitethanks · 12/05/2016 19:09

IF ONLY I DID LOOK LIKE JULIANNE MOORE ....you're ve kind blind or pissed Grin........ love to do capitals from time to time to puss MN purists off Grin

I'm in a very good mood:

  1. I went to see a hilaoious play last night that had me chuckling all day it its irrelevance
  2. It's sunny
  3. I've had a lovely Wine
  4. I've worn my Jigsaw broderie top for the first time bit chilly through the holes with happy silver pointy flats possible MU outfit which was very popular at work
  5. I had a fun day at work
  6. CANT WAIT UNTIL MU despite the 5am start Shock

Shop so sorry to hear and out your DF, that's hard. Thanks

linus I'm so excited that you'll be there....and Amber don't feel too bad......DH has been abroad all week, gets back while I'm in London....I'm a bad wife
