Past volumes here.

I tried to post on the previous thread and realized that it was full.

Anyone still around?

I have a parcel from Korea waiting for me at the post office. Can't wait. Grin

Room for a little one to sneak back in ladies? Things are finally picking up a bit here (and I am running out of back ups!) so I'm going to lurk for a while and then start trying bits and bobs again Smile

marushka82 · 28/04/2016 22:16

Thanks Botemp I'm going to finish my Missha B cushion first and have a look at alternatives - probably ones under £10 for a start.

I'm still reading the first part of this thread and the Mizon snail cream makes an appearance quite often, apparently it's great for moisturising but also for acne or post acne discolouration. There seem to be two of those though, is this the one that everyone's talking about? Can I use it after essence, serum but before my moisturiser? Confused

marushka82 · 28/04/2016 22:19

ooops, I meant this one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIZON-All-In-One-Snail-Repair-Cream-75g-Korea-cosmetic-Skin-care-/310636287097?hash=item48535d9479:g:AAgAAMXQWlFRutBv

Or maybe it's the same one but different packaging?

My e-bay wishlist is as long as my arm Grin

marushka82 · 29/04/2016 13:33

I've nearly finished the first thread and I would really love for someone to check my current ''routine'' and let me know whether it looks ok - or too much?
I'm in my mid 30s and have dehydrated combination skin (tend to get red and shiny towards the end of the day - frustrating). I've got some post acne red marks and some pigmentation I want to get rid of to even out my skintone.

So my routine is currently:

AM
Foam wash (this one - I need to use it up and replace with something Korean because it's meh
Essence (currently using a Superdrug one but nearly finished and waiting for this Mizon one
Serum this one
LRP Hydraphase UV Riche
primer
foundation/BB

I'm planning to get Biore Watery essence sunscreen to put on after the moisturiser

PM
foaming wash - v gentle this SVR one
Acid pads from Clearasil (the 5 in one ones)
Chemical peeling serum with Glycolic Acid 12%
sleeping pack (currently going through samples of Tony Moly Intense Care Dual Effect sleeping pack but want to buy Innisfree wine sleeping pack - was it Innisfree or Missha? Confused)

I read a lot about the Mizon all in one snail cream - question is where would I add it in the routine? Confused
I'm also planning to buy Banila Zero It cleanser for the evening, to use before the foaming wash.

If you managed to read this Flowers - any comments very welcome, I feel like I don't know what I'm doing so please stop me before I add more staff to my e-bay basket only to find later it doesn't do anything for me! Grin

scandichick · 29/04/2016 14:56

You could add a moisturizer before the sleeping pack - doesn't seem to be enough hydration there for me, but dependss on your skin I suppose! The snail cream could work , plus any number of serums and essences. I am going to Tokyo next week, any recommendations?

Scandichick my web browser is full of Isadora cushion ads Wink
I saw the Kiko cushion instore last year (far too dark for me) and have seen lots of ads for L'Oreal cushion.

I have had a few unexpect breakouts, either hormonal or triggered by the Missha sunscreen. Keeping my routines minimal, that usually helps.

Hi lucysmam! Thanks ff for new thread.

Haven't been on here for a while, for some reason I started getting cystic pimples in several areas on my face - never suffered from them before but I'd been testing a ton of new stuff so took a step back from new products and had a pared down routine. Fingers crossed all back to normal now so I'm slowly expanding my routine again. Finally tried out some of the steps from my history of whoo sample set and have to say, I love love the earthy scents but haven't seen much difference in my skin yet.

Now that it's getting warmer I'm going to start sheet masking more often and also some super cheap eye sheet masks I bought to use every morning to see if they help with my dark (and dry Confused) circles

Loving reading about what every one else is trying, my next new product to try is the j honey AIO - fingers crossed I don't get a recurrence of cystic acne

marushka82 · 29/04/2016 23:42

Ok, since DD was asleep and DH in a pub I did some shopping (checks purchase history on ebay as cannot remember what was purchased Grin

I got samples of Mizon all in one snail repair cream, samples of Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence, smaller tube of Mizon Good night white sleeping mask, Banila Clean it zero (after reading a LOT of great reviews), Tony Moly Pureness 100 sheet masks, Innisfree sheet masks (the acai berry ones), Etude House sheet masks (green tea ones I think) and finally the Biore Watery essence sunscreen. I don't even dare add everything up but I'm so excited to receive all these! and happy I'm home from work before DH comes back so I can sneak in and open all the parcels

botemp · 30/04/2016 08:43

Plaidparty you're going to have to be more specific to get recs, there's a ton of product from Japan I'd recommend but it might be useless to your needs/skin type/budget.

Aurora I just Google image search the shades which often show them next to western shades and look for the right undertone. The Koreans seem to love pink undertones (which makes me look ghostly but I guess that's the look they're going for), the yellows aren't that harsh by the looks of it and none of it is orange thankfully Smile. I reckon I'm a #23 mostly which is their darkest shade, here I'm usually the second to lightest shade, the lightest if it's a limited range but I think you have more choice for cushions if you're NC/NW10-NC15. Since I only look for sheer coverage ones I'm not that concerned that it's too light, I can always add a bit of pigment to it with an existing foundation if necessary. The AmorePacific CC cushion is out though, apparently it's an assault to the nostrils so I'm not risking the fragrance factor. A lot of the others I was looking at are a little oilslick too glowy for my tastes but I recently tried out Shiseido's new Synchro foundation locally, I think I'm just going to end up buying that instead, it's a very sheer formula that gives a surprising amount of coverage, not uber dewey but not matte either, better than the Chanel VL Aqua and it has good neutral undertones for me. I'd like to try the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation sometime too, just need to find someone who sells samples in more than one colour.

lucysmam · 30/04/2016 09:49

Hiya Frugal & mowglik, nice to see some familiar names about Smile

derek, you mentioned a page or two ago about the it's Skin Li Effector - I tried it too & did notice a difference although it took a while so I think you're right about it being a work horse. I was pleasantly surprised actually as it didn't get fabulous write ups when I was researching it, but figured it was worth a shot at that price. Not sure whether I'll re-purchase though or look at something else along those lines.

I really liked the Skinfood royal honey propolis & will probably repurchase that. Cleansing wise, I'll just pick and choose oils/washes that take my fancy.

Must say, I've only recently noticed the COSRX aha I bought last year getting towards 3/4 empty and the Secret Key emulsion has maybe 2-3 applications left in the bottle (probably more if I cut it to get the last out) so really good value for money. Oh and the HL Gokujyun as well, seem to have been using that forever and reckon there's maybe a couple of months left!

Unfortunately I ran out of moisturiser a long time ago, but have been using the Holika Holika sleeping pack & it works quite well underneath make up. & using up samples of other sleeping packs at night - saving the pumpkin one for last Grin

Sheet masks/hydrogels are the one thing I'm still not short of so am desperately trying to work through before anything reaches it's expiry date (may have been a tad over enthusiastic there!).

Make up wise I think I'd like to try another cushion & some different bb creams. I had a sample of the Lioele dolish veil (purple one) and it was realllllly nice. I expected it to be weird with it being purple but it gave a really nice base to apply the rest of my make up on & the sample did 3 days (might even have been 4!). & I love the Innisfree no sebum powder in the green pot so will definitely re buy that again.

I wouldn't mind some suggestions for oily skin to get me back in the swing of things if anyone has any? I'm open to trying out pretty much anything to see how it works Smile

Mitfordhons · 30/04/2016 10:16

Hello, you're all still going! Serial name changer here, but I've been on board since the beginning. I'm still going with AB but maybe not as disaplined as I could be and skip stages if I'm busy.

Basic routine is, ha do labo, brightening stuff (forgot its name), Scienic honey AIO (still gallons left), black snail AIO, secret key whitening then make up. I've been lax about sunscreen and need to get back in the habit. I'm also very dry so need something more moisturising, but have decided to make use of the millions of samples to find something new I like.

I was using retin a but no matter how slow I went with it I couldn't stop my skin flaking so haven't used any for a few months. Last week I bought some LRP redermick and haven't had any reaction to that so good so far, but must use sunscreen.

FrustratedFrugal · 30/04/2016 10:31

I loved Hons and Rebels Wink

Finally went to the post office to pick up my Missha M Signature cushion. The packaging is really luxurious, much prettier than the regular Missha cushion. I have promised to use up a small jar before opening this one. Have a hard time deciding whether I will open this or the Hera one first.

I just received today my parcel with the Air Cotton makeup base and I have to say I'm really excited to try it out, also received 3 samples with it which is great as it's only a small purchase.

What I wasn't pleased with was the fact the postie decided to throw it over the back gate and it rained afterwards so my parcel was quite soggy Angry Sad.

AuroraPolaris · 01/05/2016 08:28

Thanks for all the tips botemp I will have a look on line and see if I can find some colour comparisons, though TBH I don't really need a new foundation right now (still got an almost full bottle of YSL and almost full tube of CC) and I'm trying to be "good" and only buy things I need to replace or need and do not have, but it's good to do research in advance, and fun too, obvs.... I personally don't like things that smell too strong so maybe AP is not for me either (can just about stand the smell of Guerlain).

I received my Tony Moly foot peel yesterday - and now have to calculate and see when I can attempt it in a way that won't expose peeling feet to the wide world (like in Yoga class?). I will report back ;)

Tried the Annesa whitening SPF a few more times and things are looking well. It also feels moisturizing enough (with serum and a couple of drops of oil underneath), so I'm very hopeful for the summer!

derektheladyhamster · 01/05/2016 08:42

After a couple of months of no purchases, I went a little crazy And Didn't Check CosDNA Sad
My absolutely lovely holika holika sweet cotton pore cover base & bb creams contain caster oil - a huge acne trigger for me. My chin erupted and its a nightmare!
What is worse, is that I ordered the holika petit moisturising bb cream too, as my chin is still flaky from using the retain a. And it also has caster oil in it! What was I (or not) thinking! Its not even arrived and I won't be able to use it.
Luckily I have another tube of the clearing bb cream.

I hate my skin! But the its skin li effector arrived yesterday, so not all bad news

CheshireChat · 02/05/2016 19:36

Has anyone here tried the Shiseido Perfect Oil? It sounds quite nice as it turns into a foam in contact with water and CosDNA says it's quite mild, it also has decent reviews.

LesIncompetents · 03/05/2016 11:40

CheshireCat I've not tried that one myself, but my MIL has a few Shiseido products so I will ask next time I speak to her.

I've broken out in little white spots Sad I'm hoping it's just the consequences of eating and drinking too much crap over the weekend. I REALLY hope it's not down to my new goodal waterest oil. Will leave it out of my routine for a few days and see what happens.

CheshireChat · 04/05/2016 13:16

Thanks LesIncompetents, we'll see what she thinks.

I received the peel off gloss today and I have to say it's surprisingly bright even after peeling it off so I'm very happy with that. The cherry red is an absolutely gorgeous colour. I might get a lighter one as well as I actually lost my one light lipstick.

mowglik · 04/05/2016 16:56

Oo Cheshire which brand is that? I have one and it does leave a lasting stain on my lips but my problem is the application - I end up smearing it over the lip lines and it just looks odd quite frankly Blush

How gloopy is the one you have?

CheshireChat · 04/05/2016 20:57

I have the really cheap one Blush as I thought it's a gimmick and couldn't really justify the branded ones.

It is very gloopy, but I found the trick is to apply however much you need and then hold the gloss upside down and smooth it off if that makes sense.

Which one did you get?

CheshireChat · 10/05/2016 22:20

I've killed the thread Blush!

The makeup base is absolutely amazing and makes my foundation stay put perfectly, it does strip colour out of your face, but I don't actually mind and nothing a blush wouldn't fix.

The eye primer seems good as well and you can use it on the waterline which is a major plus for me and even with contacts it doesn't irritate my eyes. Also the bottle is a really cute shape Grin.

hollinhurst84 · 10/05/2016 22:43

Anyone want to recommend a hydrating toner for me? Prone to breakouts but like a hydrating toner as skin can get quite dry Smile

botemp · 10/05/2016 22:48

What? How did you kill a the thread CheshireChat?

Incidentally I was just coming on here to share my latest AB but really non-AB find. After my annoyance with sheet masks (found a solution to the breakouts btw, washing with water afterwards however counterintuitive it sounds has solved a lot) I started looking into modelling (or rubber) masks. Turns out the A-list Korean actors all loved this one 'premium' brand Casmara but I was having a hard time finding it in the Korean webshops, they only sold the imitations of the Casmara mask. Turns out it's from Spain! Anyhow, easypharmacie sells them for cheaper than getting a Korean imitation sent here. I got the fancy 24k gold ones because they seemed the most fun but I'm absolutely amazed by it. I'm not really one for the glow worship as the superficial glow just reads oily to me but this really gives a lit from within glow that's highly covetable! You have to slather yourself in serum first (I used the Red serum mentioned previously and it's a really winning duo with this, it does come with a serum I used a bit of that too) then mix gel and powder to apply, it was far less messy than I thought it would be applying and clean up was easy too. It really cools your skin down and the slightest bit of inflammation and redness disappeared along with it and it is deeply hydrating. I covered the mouth area which was far less claustrophobic than expected but still weird, next time I'll try to do the eyes if I dare. . (Sorry it's a rather stupid promo video). I'll definitely be incorporating a modeling mask into my routine maybe once a fortnight, I'll see how long I can resist before doing it again Grin.

Also have been very impressed by Melano CC essence which is a Japanese Vit C serum/target treatment. Has a really fine nozzle and absorbs well. Very affordable too, got it off ebay for something around $13 including shipping. It has a weird pomelo/grapefruit scent but thankfully it has been non-irritating Smile.
