Thanks for all the shoe help - am going to report back after a trip to town at the weekend. :)

Now I need dress help, please!

I want a proper, old fashioned, cotton sundress. Sleeveless. Fitted waist. Fullish skirt. Not too garish or expenisve. Nothing like Vivienne of Holloway etc. Must be a real shop. I like black, black and white, red, pink, grey, possibly yellow or purple. I don't like blue, green. A pattern is fine if not too big.

Thanks in advance for anybody feeling patient!

How about one of the Liberty for Uniqlo dresses? www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/174186?r=2511684403954428300

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2016 21:10

I hate blue though. :(

Bugger. Just realised that the Warehouse one is navy - thought it was black.

ASOS isn't linking properly ATM but you might like 'ASOS Tiered Linen Midi Sundress' it says linen but it's 100% cotton. Yellow mind. ( Here in case linking bug is fixed)

tethersend · 20/04/2016 21:25

Black

tethersend · 20/04/2016 21:34

Jesus, everything out there is blue... Why??

Lucked · 20/04/2016 21:43

Another black one but it would be too short for me.

MrsLettuce · 20/04/2016 21:47

Blue everywhere. Yes.

ScarlettDarling · 20/04/2016 22:03

What about this navy stripe dress from Dorothy Perkins?

Diddlydokey · 20/04/2016 22:03

m.gap.co.uk/product.html?dn=gp000198667001&dv=0&shopid=0&pdn=gc57372&outlet=false

I like this but it might be too casual for you.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2016 22:24

Yumi one nice but too short. Hate that Gap one, sorry. It looks like dishrag even on the beautiful model, so I dread to think what it'd be like on me.

No to navy stripes. I don't like blue! And nearly everything out there is bloody blue!

I KNOW you said no 50s-esque ones, but this is nice if you ignore the styling.

tethersend · 21/04/2016 19:13

Topshop also in black, but not sure about the crochet bit.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/04/2016 19:14

Bloody hell, Teths. I'd look like Barbara flipping Windsor in that first one!!!! Can't see the Topshop one properly but will try a search.

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/04/2016 19:16

No to Topshop. I am far too buxom.

I'm amazed you don't have a tame seamstress by now TBH.
