Thanks for all the shoe help - am going to report back after a trip to town at the weekend. :)

Now I need dress help, please!

I want a proper, old fashioned, cotton sundress. Sleeveless. Fitted waist. Fullish skirt. Not too garish or expenisve. Nothing like Vivienne of Holloway etc. Must be a real shop. I like black, black and white, red, pink, grey, possibly yellow or purple. I don't like blue, green. A pattern is fine if not too big.

Thanks in advance for anybody feeling patient!

Bugger. Just realised that the Warehouse one is navy - thought it was black.

ASOS isn't linking properly ATM but you might like 'ASOS Tiered Linen Midi Sundress' it says linen but it's 100% cotton. Yellow mind. ( Here in case linking bug is fixed)

Another black one but it would be too short for me.

Yumi one nice but too short. Hate that Gap one, sorry. It looks like dishrag even on the beautiful model, so I dread to think what it'd be like on me.

No to navy stripes. I don't like blue! And nearly everything out there is bloody blue!

I like the gingham one a lot, but I think it's blue.

I KNOW you said no 50s-esque ones, but this is nice if you ignore the styling.

I'm amazed you don't have a tame seamstress by now TBH.
