Help me find a dress please

Thanks for all the shoe help - am going to report back after a trip to town at the weekend. :)

Now I need dress help, please!

I want a proper, old fashioned, cotton sundress. Sleeveless. Fitted waist. Fullish skirt. Not too garish or expenisve. Nothing like Vivienne of Holloway etc. Must be a real shop. I like black, black and white, red, pink, grey, possibly yellow or purple. I don't like blue, green. A pattern is fine if not too big.

Thanks in advance for anybody feeling patient!

It really is a tough one to find. Am with some others - have you got a local person who will make something up for you. Not all will be as stupidly expensive. Maybe see if you can find self employed bridal alterations people - they would be able to whip something up no problem.

Not what I'm after though, although pretty. I want cotton, and longer.

Fat Face link not working but have already looked on there and not liked anything.

FC one is beautiful, but blue and prob too short. I want it to be midi on me, and I'm a shortarse.

Don't like the Wallis ones - too weddingish.

Absolutely love this - Such a pity that the background isn't black.

I think I might have found a serious contender. It's blue, but blue denim is acceptable. Have I gone mad?!

Anybody ever heard of this brand? Might be too 50s but I do like dark florals.

No idea, Sunbeam.

No to the Hush one - viscose and blue!

I like the red one you posted as the shape you like. Any idea where it's from?

I have managed to find this though, which isn't what I'm after now but does look as if it might be a contender for the black shirtdress I've been looking for for the past several years.

Actually, MrsLettuce raises a very good point- I have recently found a guy who can make everything in my head. I'm saving like mad and have vowed never to buy almost-what-I-want ever again.

Grin You may well have a point there. I just know what I like/want. Just wish the shops would know too!

I'm amazed you don't have a tame seamstress by now TBH.

I KNOW you said no 50s-esque ones, but this is nice if you ignore the styling.
