Just that really. I was a huge fan of no7 intelligent colour and used it for years, but my new batch really affected my skin.

How do I find my shade in boots, do I apply to my inner arm?

Bourjois again here! The serum is a slightly lighter coverage than the original Healthy Mix

mrsmugoo · 10/04/2016 22:54

No, your inner arm is a completely different colour to your face! Just try a teeny bit on your face and take a compact mirror to see.

JamNan · 10/04/2016 22:54

Another vote for Bourjois but I find it needs a lot of moisturiser underneath otherwise it looks a bit patchy.

StrawberrytallCake · 10/04/2016 22:58

Yy bourjois healthy mix here too! I use a glow primer underneath, saw it in a YouTube vid by Ruth Crilly (a model recommends) recently.

Levantine · 11/04/2016 07:35

Bourjois healthy mix here too, though I will try their new city one when this bottle runs out

kua · 11/04/2016 07:49

I'm wearing the Bourjois city mix for the first time today. Went on easily, a tad shiny so needed a bit of powder. It has given me a healthy glow which on a Monday is much appreciated.

NantucketNightbird · 11/04/2016 10:07

I'm completely clueless! I didn't wear foundation for years then stuck with the intelligent colour. Will go to boots tomorrow and pick one.

Thanks everyone Smile

I used to wear Chanel until I got sick of spending so much, I now use Vichy Dermablend which I apply with a real techniques brush. I have really sensitive, rosacea skin. It doesn't flare it up and covers the majority of the redness.

WellTidy · 11/04/2016 11:08

I had always bought really expensive foundations (once paid £60 for a chantecaille one which was really lovely) but now I am very happy indeed with bourjois healthy mix in vanilla. The range of colours is not extensive, but that colour works well for me. I also use a blow primer underneath and that makes it go on very easily and stays put just fine. It is £10, but boots were doing a 3 for 2 not so long back on bourjois, i don't know if that is still going.

CoolToned · 11/04/2016 11:14

Bourjois Healthy Mix serum is love. Very comparable to high-end brands! Even better than most, to be honest.

My new love is Bourjois City Radiance. Very similar to the new Chanel Les Beiges foundation. Even the smell is almost the same as Chanel's!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/04/2016 13:39

Max Factor miracle illusion, brilliant stuff.

badfurday · 11/04/2016 13:43

Revlon colour stay. I swayed back to Mac last month and was shocked how bad it was! Never going back to high budget again.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/04/2016 14:44

I'm pretty unimpressed with Mac foundations too!

NantucketNightbird · 11/04/2016 15:30

Okay what's the difference between the boujous foundation and serum? This seems quite popular

I used to love the Maybelline Fresh Bb cream but can't seem to find it anywhere at the mo. Shame as the SPF 30 in it actually worked for me and I've been known to burn in March Blush

Now I'm trying Bourjois City somethingorother which is great but a bit heavier coverage than I'd ideally like.

kua · 11/04/2016 18:15

UPDATE- first day done of wearing Bourjois City Lights. It has lasted well though perhaps a bit shiny on my forehead now. However, almost 12hrs after application that is to be expected. A colleague commented on how clear my skin was looking so I'm impressed with it so far. I'm pale with pink undertones so went with the rose ivory. I find the Healthy Mix a tad on the yellow side, fine for summer but unfortunately my skin has not seen the sun for months..

CoolToned · 11/04/2016 21:31

NantucketNightbird,

The foundation (original) has a thicker consistency. The serum is thinner and has a lighter coverage. It really depends on preference. Both are lovely.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/04/2016 22:02

Bourjois 123 Perfect.

Although if you're not one of 4 different fair white skintones you're fucked.

SaucyJack · 11/04/2016 22:10

Bourjois Air Mat.

I have oily skin with visible pores, and it does a great Polyfilla job over them.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/04/2016 22:13

OMG Saucy we agree on make up brands and not shagging cousins! We must be kindred mumsnetters! Grin

(Not stalking I promise just happen to have two tabs open Wink)

Lottapianos · 11/04/2016 22:15

I love Rimmel Wake Me Up or Match Perfection. Great for dry skin. I liked the formula of Bourjois Healthy Mix but found it too yellow like a lot of other people

I bought MAC Face and Body a while back and cannot understand all the fuss - my Rimmel is way better and a third of the price!

CoolToned · 11/04/2016 22:50

SaucyJack -

Do they have a lighter shade? I remember most of the shades lean orange?

SaucyJack · 11/04/2016 23:36

Waves to Felicia Grin

I guess it depends how pale you are Cool? I have the Rose Ivory one, which does look a bit orangey in the tube, but looks fine on my bog-standard fair complexion once applied.

CoolToned · 11/04/2016 23:59

I'm 51 in the Healthy Mix serum, I think. I use Vanilla in the City Radiance but I have never tried the one before that. I do not like foundations that turn orange - most foundations oxidise on me. Even the Bourjois CC cream in 31 turned to orange in an under an hour.
