What would you wear with these shoes?

I'm going through one of my regular 'I hate all my clothes' phases, I need to sort them out but I'm starting with shoes. These are really comfortable and I like them but do they just look like a man's shoe? Or an old persons shoe? Can I wear anything with them that would look nice?

What would you wear with these shoes?

Is this a joke? 😂

Vixxfacee · 10/04/2016 09:44

A black bag

iwouldgoouttonight · 10/04/2016 09:44

Sadly not.

Hmm, I've just looked up Jose Seibel (who they appear to be made by) and they are branded as 'the European comfort shoe'. That might explain it.

*Josef not Jose

Worst shoes but best thread OP, you have a great sense of humour.
I keep going back to look at the shoes and laugh.

Don't garden with them though your flowers will die. X

holaguapa · 10/04/2016 10:07

I was feeling sad last night so I came back here and actually laughed out loud. I almost woke the baby!

It still works today too!

MrsPMT · 10/04/2016 11:30

This has really made me laugh, should be in Classics Grin

I prob have these sort of shoes in the bottom of my wardrobe too, from when I went through a 'comfort is the most important' phase Grin

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 10/04/2016 11:33

A disguise had made me laugh so much.

I love this thread.

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 10/04/2016 11:49

Remus, I love the Charming Charlie stuff - it's lovely.

Iwouldgoouttonight I have a pair of JS flip-flops and I will admit they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn

MyLocal · 10/04/2016 11:56

These are like the fugly shoes my DD's nursing student friends wear, only black. I would save them and wear them to do the garden or walk the dog, both occasions do not require any any thoughts on matching outfits.

Dotheskankyleg · 10/04/2016 15:06

I've been quite ill, and I'm convinced this shoe has healing powers, I just take one look at it and laugh uncontrollably, afterwards I feel so much better and calmer. Even DH said I have a sort of new glint in my eyes.

I love all the comments e.g 'do not wear them gardening or the flowers might die!'

OP you are fab! And should be nominated, MNer of the week for your sense of humour.

Dotheskankyleg · 10/04/2016 15:10

There's an Mner who is very good with writing poetry. I think this shoe deserves its own poem. observing it just sitting there, taking all the jibes and taunts its crying out for an Ode. Sadly I have no such talent, but hope the right person sees this thread.

iwouldgoouttonight · 10/04/2016 15:53

Dotheskankyleg I could invite people round to experience the healing power of the grandad bread shoe. Kind of like Lourdes but in footwear form.

I've just risked doing the garden in them honestly they're so comfy it was like wearing slippers and spent the whole time nervously looking over my shoulder in case any of my neighbours are MNers. Fingers crossed my plants survive.

Iwoouldgo

Rather in the manner of Life of Brian:

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 10/04/2016 18:48

Forgive me iwouldgoout I'm not a poet but I couldn't resist having a go

I would go out tonight, but I haven't got a stitch to wear...

Only shoes shaped like bread
Is my sense of style long dead?
I know it's a sin
They should go in the bin
But I don't have the heart
From the shoes, I can't part

nickdrakeslovechild · 10/04/2016 20:54

I feel really bad but I had to comment, please please put them in the bin. As someone who is, ahem older in years, those shoes do not belong on this earth xx
