Apparently it's been said a million times but - tube mascara

Thank you for the recommendation after I posted about being unable to wear mascara. Now I can!

I ordered the Loreal one from eBay and it arrived today. I only used the black, not the white, as I was hurrying to test it before getting kids to bed etc. It looks the same as it did 5 hours ago!

Love tube mascara. Loreal beauty tubes are my all time favourite

I'm so grateful for the recommendation on here a few years ago.

I am always waxing lyrical about it at work as we all have (or had) the same problem working in a hot environment for long hours & nights.

Is this the mascara with one white side and one black side? Isn't it a bit of a faff?

No faff at all. Just sweep the white over then sweep the black.

It comes off with plain hot water which suits me, I struggle to find removers that don't effect my skin and eyes. I wash with a hot flannel so it's perfect!

I'm old enough to have used block mascara, and so to me all mascara is tube mascara.

The industry has so many writers adept in the creative use of language, I'm seriously surprised they didn't make a new term for this, rather than going for one that is still in use with a well established and different meaning.

Tubes form around your eyelashes. I think technically they refer to it as tubing mascara, but it's automatically referred to as tube on the interwebz now thanks to these youthful blogger types.

I still miss block mascara. Newer formulations are rubbish, it worked better when it was rock solid and required a bit of spit Grin

That makes a bit more sense. Because using language confusing to you older, wealthier customers is a very silly move.

As young bloggers will discover if they ever move into the retail side of the industry.

Block mascara was a much better product: better results on the eyes, usually cheaper. I'm sure tube mascara took only took over because of lack of spit.

Ooh no idea what block mascara is.

This stuff leaves little tubes around each lash bat don't budge for anything. It does also come in a tube.

Yes I can vouch for that. I used luke warm water and it didn't come away, so upped the temp a bit and it did.

So is the look of your lashes different to regular mascara? It doesn't give that clumpy look?

It looks exactly the same as normal mascara.

The difference is that normal mascara is made with wax - which melts/breaks down on my skin, leaving a delightful smudged and flaky look.
Tubing mascaras are made with polymers that form a tube around the lash hairs. It isn't as sensitive to oils and so on, so it doesn't break down in the same way as the wax based mascara, but does remove easily with warm water.

I have slightly hooded eyes, I just couldn't get on with mascara and it made my eyes uncomfortable. It would make the area under my eyes black and nasty looking. This works!

Tate15 Ive been after a lengthening mascara for a couple of weeks - just bought that after seeing your post. Really hope it's as good as you say! (...and it saves me having to get embroiled in a conversation with my local Younique-bot which is handy!)
