best reasonably priced high street shampoo and conditioner

Any recommendations please? I love my fancy hairdressers shampoo and conditioner but at £17 each I can't justify it

I wash my hair daily as it looks lank, greasy and dirty quickly

I'm a fan of the Aussie range, although I do occasionally top up with Kerastase products for extra shine (when blow drying).

Aussie have products for coloured hair, as well as "luscious" long hair that I find particularly good.

Is Lush on your High Street? Their shampoos are very good.

Aussie is brilliant, I use this on my dd5 hair too.

Aussie for me too. I have loads of different shampoos and conditioners, some very pricy and high end but I keep coming back to Aussue Luscious Long!

I would say it depends on your hair. I find the Aussie normal ranges strip colour from my hair, & any colour shampoo leaves my hair stupidly greasy. For using daily after the gym cheaply - dove daily moisturising shampoo & conditioner work fine in my gym bag (& I'm not devastated if I loose them at around £2 each). For home I use Aveda (but it lasts ages as I only get to use it once a week).

I love Gliss. That's really cheap. Super cheap.

I also love Avon's Apricot leave-in conditioner which you apply to damp hair and then blow dry. That's also super cheap.

I read an article by a chemist in the business that said they're basically all the same. Even the fancily packaged stuff you get in the hairdressers, it all works in pretty much the same way according to that article. I'll see if I can find it but would love to hear anyone who knows if his is true or not

Aussie. My hairdresser said it was the only high street one that was any good - all the others are pretty much the same. It's been my favourite for years.

I like the OGX range of shampoos - they smell and feel lovely. They're at the pricier end of the chemist range but are always on offer in Boots or Superdrug.

Also, websites like feelunique and lookfantastic often do massive salon size bottles of the more expensive brands which could save you £££ on your fancy brand.

I use Alberto Balsam. It's about £1 a bottle and excellent stuff.

I wash my hair every day and my hairdresser and random people comment about how shiny it is and what good condition it's it.

In general, though, avoid conditioners with silicone in. I find they cling to my hair over time and make it feel grubby and greasy.

I love Aussie especially the volume one as my hairs quite thin. I'm using garnier ultimate blends (the coconut oil one) at the moment and it's quite good. I need to wash my hair everyday too! Or dry shampoo if I don't have time - it's so irritating isn't it?

The Green People.

Ir may not be High street, and is a little more expensive but really lasts a long time.

I often buy the Daily aloe shampoo - it's about £12 for 200 ml but you only need to use a pea sized amount even on long hair.
They often have promotions on too.

Tresseme full body is my alternative to redken when I can't justify it.

I love my Alberto bahlsam in Apple.

Aussie makes my head itch terribly.
I love Aveda but buy John Frieda brunettes.
I'm currently staying in a soft water area and its made such a difference to my hair...much softer and cleaner looking

try Umberto Giannini's Pure Beauty Shampoo and Beauty Secrets range. always on a 2 for £7 or 3 for 2 offer at Boots. the shampoo is gorgeous, i use it daily on my coloured hair.

It seems Aussie is popular! Do you all get the standard shampoos or the three minute miracle ones?

Aussie doesn't work for me. I do love Lush shampoo bars, their conditioner is too pricy for my long hair, I use loads. I'm currently using Timotei 0% conditioner which I like.

I use a combination of the 3 minute miracle and the volume one (smells amazing). Though my local tesco was selling the take the heat conditioner reduced to clear 90p today so I grabbed a few

I used to love Aussie ( smells divine) but it gave me an itchy scalp after a while. I now use the L'oreal Elvive thickening/volumising range in the dark green bottles (the name escapes me!) it's on offer at Boots now.

I have quite lank hair that needs washing every day. This actually does give lots of body and volume and I can was every other day, with a bit of dry shampoo on the roots.

I'm not sure if it's an old wives tale but I also use a different brand every few washes (apparently this is better for your hair??). I git a Liz Earle set for Christmas and the shampoo is lovely. It's not cheap so I'm making it last by only using it once a week or so.
