'invisible' foundation

I don't even know if such a thing exists, but I want to find a foundation that looks really natural.

I've tried:
LM tinted mosturiser (too dewy now as my skin has aged)
Clinique CC cream
Bourjois CC cream
bare minerals
Clarins Skin illusion
Foundation By Terry

All of the above, I can SEE sat on my skin. Some of them with actual brush lines, even after buffing and buffing with a foundation brush.

Any recommendations for what else to try for a natural look? My skin is mainly clear with some open/blocked pores on my nose, so I don't need heavy coverage.

No 7 intelligent if they still do it.

Perricone no foundation foundation may work for you.

You need to get the correct colour. Go to No7 and get matched.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude is amazing. Its pigment is milled incredibly finely and I honestly can't see it on my skin. Cheap too.

YSL Fusion Ink is super light and great coverage. I also use Nars tinted moisturiser for more of a glowy light look.

Try using a Beauty blender sponge rather than a brush for applying foundation. It gives a much better finish.

I recommend NARS Sheer Glow for a very natural look.

Have you tried Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (not the serum one, that shows on my skin)?

Another vote for YSL Fusion Ink !

YSL fusion looked chalky on me.

Far and away the best I've ever used is Make Up Forever face and body make up. It's water based (I think), and it's like putting on new skin. It lasts well too.

MAC water weight

Urban decay naked skin. Second the pp about colour match - this (1.0) is the best I have found in my never-ending quest, so that probably helps with invisibility - but it seems to melt in.

It's ££ though, £27ish I think. Putting up with grainy/smudgy cheaper alternatives for work at present but will have a look at untried ones mentioned above.

I did actually try to get colour matched at Urban Decay, but she didn't have my shade!

I think No 7 will be my first stop then, and this time I'll see if I can take home a sample to try a few times before buying.

I've ditched all of my expensive foundations and am using Collection lasting perfection and it is by far the best foundation I've ever used.

The only drawback is that there are only a few shades to choose from.

I always recommend No.7 Lift and Luminate.

Lancôme miracle cushion is lovely (but runs out very quickly)
I mainly use Clarins BB skin perfecting cream which covers nicely and is dewy but doesn't look like you have foundation on.

Have you tried a primer underneath your foundation? Often it means you need less foundation which gives a more natural result. I recommend Lancôme LA Base Hydra Glow primer - it gives my skin a dewy glow which then makes my foundation look fresher and I find I need less foundation over the top x

MAC for me too - you wouldn't know I was wearing foundation, you'd just think I had super smooth skin!

I don't wear foundation often but when I do I use Estee Lauder double wear light. Regular DW I found just made my skin look caked but the light version looks really natural if you apply it properly.

chanel liquid foundation. lumiere velvet - I think its called. About £33. colours are so close, can go on very light, or layered, but its great!

Hmmmmmm but it depends.

If you are using the wrong shade, or if you are using too much product, then it will always look a bit mask like.

Buffing away won't make a huge difference if you have fundamentally too much on. I think in the youtube videos especially it looks like people are putting a FUCK TON of foundation on, and it looks natural - but I bet you in natural light it looks pretty bad.

You might already be doing all this, but just to flag. Personally, the best way I have found to put on foundation is to use my fingers to put on very light dots of product at random points across my face, and then blend them all together with my fingers. The less product the better. You can always add more if needed, and the heat from your fingers helps to blend the product better.

Have you tried mixing a little moisturiser with the ones you have see if that helps.

One I use which is outrageously expensive so I use sparingly is Chantecallie Just Skin, I was given a sample from SpaceNK and so many people commented on how good my skin looks which never happens!

I have loads of issues with foundation sitting on my pores and have struggled to find one that gives sheer cover. I now use Clarins BB cream which gives decent cover and looks good.
