Crotchless spanx? Was this purchased in Ms A Summers' (IBE) titilative foundation garment emporium?

Cerseirys · 11/01/2016 18:45

Hah no, but if you look at them they are ALL crotchless! Or maybe that's the wrong word - it's more a crossed over open crotch. Kind of hard to describe!!

mac12 · 11/01/2016 20:16

Thank you thank you Beehoven for making me laugh out loud after shitty day at work. Those trousers Grin

Behooven · 11/01/2016 20:57

Grin you're welcome!

How did the conversation get on to crotchless knickers Shock
Per Una wouldn't be able to resist hanging a few sequins or ruffles on them anyway!

No, I can assure you this garment was the polar opposite to a Spanx. It was the anti-Spanx. It was hanging around the JL lingerie section like Katie Price at a meeting of the Sandringham Mothers' Union.

reni2 · 11/01/2016 21:08

What on earth does one have to write on an M&S thread in Style and Beauty to get deleted, Mensyrau Grin?

A planted garment to put the cat amongst the JL pigeons?

ppeatfruit · 12/01/2016 09:59

Squoosh Is your crotchless knicker thing inspired by a recent episode of Midsummer Murders??? Grin I admit I was Shock by that item of clothing in MM before the watershed Grin ( not being worn in case anyone gets that idea!).

IlonaRN · 14/01/2016 14:59

ouryve that pyjama top looks lovely, and the pink that it is currently available in is great (for me).

Unfortunately, only the boring, unflattering (on me) grey one is 95% cotton - the other colours are half polyester :-(

Merguez · 14/01/2016 15:46

I was in M&S on Kensington High Street yesterday. All the women's clothes are very well presented there. I tried on a couple of black jackets for work which looked good on the hangers.

Well as soon as I tried to put them on over my cashmere jumper the static coming off them was unbelievable! Nasty, nasty synthetics. No thanks M &S don't want to walk around carrying an electric charge all the time ...

originalmavis · 14/01/2016 16:26

I hear the high street ken one is due to close.

Behooven · 14/01/2016 20:59

Isn't that quite a major store?

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 15/01/2016 12:15

I wonder if High St. Ken. is on a ley line or something; there are so many shops that have come to grief there Sad

originalmavis · 15/01/2016 12:50

I suspect it's more that the leases come up and the rents are ranked up. I was chatting to a shopkeeper today on high St ken and she was saying that the rents were huge. Gap closed but reopened a few doors up.

Whitey's is also due to close - some foreign buyer making it into flats I believe - so there goes another m&s and a half decent cinema!

ppeatfruit · 15/01/2016 12:55

I would think that M & S could afford ANY rents ! They have had fairly crap management for a while actually, they closed their Paris branches which were doing very well , so many people protested that they've reopened, that must have cost a few thousand million in itself!

originalmavis · 15/01/2016 12:59

I suppose it's the bean counters.

I remember when they opened in Paris - oh the crowds of Parisians standing gawping at the displays of flavoured crisps! Beats boring flodor (?) brand from my childhood of salt or no salt flavour.

ppeatfruit · 15/01/2016 13:11

We have 2nd house in Fr. and the deliveries from the Paris branch have been very efficient for dh (forgetting the annoying fact that none of the women's clothes on line were my size ).

LovelyFriend · 15/01/2016 13:41

It is due to its proximity to Westfield - many big brands have closed on HSK & opened in Westfield.

HSK needs a rebrand/a rethink.

I like the layout of the High Street Kensignton M&S. The Westfield one does my nut in - I can't pin point what, its lovely and MASSIVE, but the layout sucks.

originalmavis · 15/01/2016 13:49

I get scared in huge stores! Especially when you cant see any windows. My idea of hell is Hamley's

Merguez · 15/01/2016 13:58

The HSK M&S has been in the same place for at least 30 years. Interesting that some people think it's closing - it was far from busy when I was in there at 11 am on a Wednesday morning. The people that were there were mainly scrabbling through the last of the sale stuff. I'd have thought that Westfield was too far away to have much of an impact.

However I was gutted to hear that the tiny M&S Simply Food store which opened in my local BP garage in a small downmarket country town is closing after just a year. Obviously the wrong demographics. Community Facebook page full of people complaining about its high prices.

originalmavis · 15/01/2016 14:00

A store assistant there told a friend they were closing very soon. I hope not! I think it's been there since the 70s!

ppeatfruit · 15/01/2016 14:07

originalmavis Hamleys 2 weeks from Christmas IS hell Grin

Suziesome1 · 15/01/2016 14:09

Side moan - pregnant, needed new bra's, off I went to our local marks. Politely asked a group of 4 assistants chatting in the bra section (place was empty) for a fitting, and was told I'd have to make an appointment online..... Hmm went to debenhams, done there and then , three new bras later. Can't even get the underwear service right and tbh that would be the only reason I'd go in there in the first place. Was a bit hacked off!

ppeatfruit · 15/01/2016 14:09

LovelyFriend It's been bad there MANY years before Westfield Grin (old glimmer emojji).

Behooven · 15/01/2016 14:34

suzie that is rubbish customer service!
