How many bras do you own?

Was tempted by the sales in Debenhams today. Dh has asked how many bras do you need in a way that suggests I may have bought too many Blush. Anyway, how many do you have? How many is too many?

I have about 40 or so. Why so many? Because I match them to whatever I'm wearing - a green top gets a green bra etc. And I love underwear.

pseudonymity · 31/12/2015 03:15

2 sports
1yoga
2 bandeau
1 cross back
5 regular
1 strapless (needs replacing)
=11

SorrelForbes · 31/12/2015 08:21

Around 30 I think. I'm a frequent thrower outer though so my stock changes quite quickly! I have two nude, 1 black and the rest are patterned (all Panache Cleo or Ewa Michalak)

raisin3cookies · 31/12/2015 08:34

I only have 3 and one is a sports bra. I've been steadily losing weight over the past six months and refuse to buy more until my size stabilises. The smaller I get, the cheaper my bras get, so that's exciting!

Fairylea · 31/12/2015 08:42

I have about 5 in my drawer but there's only 1 I actually really like and hate having to wear something else when it's in the wash!

I really need to treat myself to some new bras :)

Pidapie · 31/12/2015 09:03

3! one black, one red and one greeny blue coloured.

BumWad · 31/12/2015 09:04

Easily 30+

AtSea1979 · 31/12/2015 10:27

pidapie don't you ever wear a white tshirt\blouse?

Micah · 31/12/2015 10:45

pidapie don't you ever wear a white tshirt\blouse?

Is there some sort of rule that you have to? I don't have a white t-shirt or blouse, so no, I don't ever wear one. My 2 bra's are both black sports bra's.

AtSea1979 · 31/12/2015 12:01

Just me then Grin

MangoBiscuit · 31/12/2015 12:11
  1. All from Ewa Michalak. 1 black, 1 red, 1 nude, 1 pale blue, 1 red in a plunge style, and 1 sports bra. I too have big, heavy boobs, so need proper support. I'm planning on buying some more from EM soon as I've lost weight (everywhere except my boobs! Hmm) so the bands really need to be a bit tighter again.
OnGoldenPond · 31/12/2015 12:16

Clary - DD is a 30EE and has found Boux Avenue have a decent range in her size. More expensive than M&S but not massively so and well made

hollinhurst84 · 31/12/2015 15:23

Pass Blush
Maybe 5/6 sports bras, all Royce except for one bravissimo one
Strapless don't exist for me so none of them!
6 or 7 ewa michalak
4 or 5 curvy Kate
A few debenhams and panache ones that I don't really wear
Couple of flirtelle

FuckOffJeffrey · 31/12/2015 18:41

I tend to have 3 on the go at one time. I find mine stretch out on the sholder straps and need replacing after 2/3 of months so I really can't afford to have more than that at the one time (big boobs so bras are about £30 a go)

PeppasNanna · 31/12/2015 18:48

You lot are going to think i'm really weird...ive got 2 brasBlush

I hate & detest buying bras!

LionHearty · 31/12/2015 19:03

I have just decluttered my bra drawer. I counted more than 30 bras. Have decided to leave myself with no more than 6 and give the remainder to Oxfam.

2016 I want to get rid of excess clothes, I have more than 20 pairs of jeans, but that is another thread!

BessieBlount · 31/12/2015 19:05

I've just thrown out around 5 or 6. They were getting grubby. I probably own around 30. I try to match but I also have a few generic white/black ones which can match a variety of white/black knickers.

BuggersMuddle · 31/12/2015 19:16

I have loads, although some are from when I was slightly smaller / larger of boob, but have been kept 'just in case'.

Of the ones that fit well, I have 15 which includes 4 in everyday circulation, light coloured (only with light clothes), strapless and multiple sports bras.

KatharinaRosalie · 01/01/2016 14:42

Drawer full. Actually several drawers, as been pregnant and BF 2 kids in the past 3 years, so there's a variety of sizes. But even if the size is stable, I have tons - it's like shoes, different ones to go with different clothes. Plus about 10 sports bras.

Kwick709 · 01/01/2016 20:53

LionHearty congrats for donating to Oxfam - I always do this when having a bra clear put - they upcycle the bras to communities that are without.
For the record I have about 8 bras - I nearly always hand-wash as I find that the underwiring comes out if I do not.
Any tips on how to get white deodorant stains out?
I have a large boobage (40G) And normally clear out and replace most worn annually.
I also wear comfort bras to sleep in - I have 4 of those - but I am in the process of addung to this stock so I can wear one fresh each night - these go in the washing machine.

leadrightfoot · 01/01/2016 21:38

8 nude
3 white
2 black
2 blue
All matched sets
2 in each above colour strapless sets
4 sports bras

BeaufortBelle · 01/01/2016 21:47

Two beige, four white, two black. All Triumph Amourette. 34F. I buy a couple a year when they are 20% off or buy one get one half price. I think they last three or four years.

I also have a few really pretty ones that I have bought on a whim but don't fit properly!

AngelsWithFilthySouls · 01/01/2016 21:53

4 white, 4 black, 1 white multiway/strapless, 1 black multiway/strapless, 1 nude with clear back, 1 silver and 1 coral (all with matching pants as my Mum always had a thing about "what if you get run over by a bus?!" Hmm).

Washed after 1 wear which means on gym days I go through 2 bras so I like to have quite a few to avoid having to get washing done quickly.

Gwenhwyfar · 01/01/2016 22:04

Just counted about 21 plus 2 or 3 sports bras. 2 whites, 1 flesh coloured and the rest black, or black with a small pattern. One or two are strapless.

Bunbaker · 02/01/2016 00:16

Reading some of these posts make me think that some of you need advice from some of the bra MN experts.
Kwick709 are you sure you really measure 40" under your boobs?
