Issues with quality of White Company Jeans

In the last year I have had two pairs of White Company jeans, skinny and boyfriend. Both pairs have quite literally fallen apart within a few months - the fabric at the packets, belt loops and crotch just seems to disintegrate.

I took a pair back this morning (bought two months ago, fit perfectly) I was told that I must have worn them excessively as they looked worn out and that they have never had any other complaints about the quality of their jeans. I pointed out that the jeans I am wearing are five years old and have been worn frequently and cost about the same but have only just started to wear out at the knees.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with The White Company Jeans as I'm really quite miffed.

I don't think their response was adequate. I would get in touch with their head office and send them the jeans if necessary. Ask for a full refund. I would be surprised if they didn't give it to you based on what you've said above.

I took sheets back that had big holes in them after 18months and was told anything over 6months old was fair wear and tear.

Which is why I havent bought anything since off them. We call them the shite company now.

I have received a refund but only at the current selling price which is a lot less than I paid. This is because I didn't have a receipt despite the fact that I bought them online and have an account and was able to bring it all up on my phone.
I have had similar problems with their sheets now you mention it Hmm.
Think that's it with the White Company for me too. Shame.

I sent some Little White Company PJs back after about a month. The jersey was very thin and flimsy and large sections of the stitching became undone the second or third time I washed them. I got a full refund, but very dissspointed in TWC/LWC and have not bought anything from them since. They seem very overpriced for the quality. My mother has had a similar experience with their bed linen.

there was a very illuminating program on TV a few weeks ago about where and how jeans were made (somewhere offshore of course) and the person at the factory said the only difference between cheap and pricey jeans was usually the 'label' - don't know about white company particularly as their clothes were always too pricey for me.

That's disgraceful of them when you have an account with them, I would email the ceo.

www.justlinen.co.uk is good for nice bedding that doesnt fall apart.

I had something similar with some lounge wear. I'd worn them twice and they bobbled to hell!! I was just told to use a razor to get them off!!!! No offer of refund.

Um, jeans are made to be worn excessively. Basically, they are nearly indestructible cheap work trousers, and well-stiched seams can take years of use and abuse before fraying. Just complain to someone higher up on the food chain. As a head of marketing I'd be really worried about their reputation on MN, isn't this one of their core demographics?

I've experienced their quality going downhill too. I've been given a pair of their Inuit boot slippers every xmas for years. Last year the pair I was given were really lacking in quality - in fact they were so rubbish I didn't like wearing them at all. At £35 a pair they should be amazing. Not asked for any for xmas this year.

White Company clothing is not good quality ime. I've stopped buying it.

Don't like their bedlinen much either.

Def contact the CEO and put your complaint in writing.

I love the thickness of their towels, but the sewing at the edges comes apart and frays. Very annoying.

I love your name for them -The Shite Company!

I thought it was just me but the quality is now pitiful but their prices have stayed the same.

Shame on Chrissie whatever her name is owner of the white company always banging on about how she started it all from her bedroom etc and was all about quality and the best materials rarara. Now it's the same old shite manufactured in India but using the brand and labels to justify the huge prices

I've been constantly let down over the last year or more with the quality - a pair of slippers which were cheap and nasty when they arrived but not a cheap price, an expensive tee shirt which was low quality and washed crappily and a jumper which was so disappointing it was laughable.

The homeware has also let me down. I used to be able to trust The White Company for great bedding too but now it truly is The Shite Company. I won't be spending my money in there again unless it's in the sale or at Primark prices - Primark home is actually better quality

Hope marketing and sales dept of The White Co is reading this. They seriously need to raise their game back up - only takes a few years in retail for customers to vote with their feet

They are terrible at refunding, they will do their best to try and convince you its wear and tear, or that all knitwear bobbles. I've had jeans from them which stretched massively on first wear, and they tried to tell me I must have worn them loads without washing. I only got a refund because I had the receipt which proved I had only bought them a few days prior, so my wear couldn't have been excessive!

I've also been behind an women who was trying to return a bobbly cardigan, and they were trying to get her to buy a bobble comb as the bobbling was "normal".

I bought a plain white tshirt from them and it was completely bobbled in 3 months, looked like it could have been 3 years old. I think I paid £45 for it which is such a rip off. I would have been better with M&S.

Aha not just me then, they really did make out it must be my excessively large arse that over stretched the fabric Hmm.
I agree jeans should last years and be worn everyday to crawl around after the baby and muck the horse out and clean the car and go to the supermarket but where the hell do you find these jeans any more??!
I am prepared to pay for jeans that will actually last.
How do I find the CEOs email? I can't find an email on the website but perhaps I'm blind I know I am blind

Late to this but I bought some white jeans in the sale from them, managed to pull one of the belt loops when trying on (was a bit tight at the time). Mum did the repair and said that the fabric was really poor quality. Puts me off buying clothes from them again.

They're rubbish. But lots of brands' fabrics' quality has deteriorated. I got bed linen for DS2 recently from John Lewis. DS1 has the equivalent set from 3 years ago and it's is far softer, smoother, better printing and nicer buttons.

We bought a whole bedding set from them and had it last less than a year. You can now see through the quilt after a few washes. The pillow cases have holes. £350 down the drain!

I think retailers think consumers are mugs and won't notice changes in quality. Either that or they are mugs and the manufacturers have changed the quality and not told them.

Some as Monsterdecookie - bedding we bought 12 months ago is now so thin it's transparent. Actually, the first set fell apart at the seams at the first wash; when they eventually accepted that I hadn't washed it wrongly they replaced it, but the replacement is rubbish. What's really galling is that it's already thinner than Laura Ashley stuff that I bought in 2001 and have used and washed squillions of times and COST MORE (relatively).

I used to love premium denim but have recently bought excellent pairs from H&M. High lycra and polyester content can cause the jeans to stretch out of shape or go bobbly (cotton and polyester fibres tend to separate as you wear them).
