what age and shape do u have to be to wear skinny jeans?

My honest opinion on these, is that you have to be tall and quite slim to carry them off.

I am a 12 5'8 and wont wear them, although dh tells me they look fine

My friend is a size 12/14 and 5'5" ish and she wears them and looks, not good, imo.

I would obviously not tell her that (not close friend) Anyway hope this helps you decide.

tall not so important but I think thwey were designed to give skinny women more curves, so if you have curves anyway...

The clue is in the word 'skinny' I would say . Agewise, probably unwise if you're out of your teens.
I don't think they look good on anyone though.

I am 37, size 12 and 5'3" and I wear them IMHO they look great and plenty of people tell me that!!

However my hips are narrow (ish) and it is my bum that goes out, so I look quite narrow face on IYKWIM.

If you are in any way pear shaped they look shit, but I am not (I am curvy but narrow through the hip and wider shoulders) so I werar them - and I wear leggings nd I am sure those are a no no too !!

I am only 5 ft 2 and I wear them! am a 10 - 12. I have biggish hips but slimmer legs and not much bum

also depends what you wear them with.

I'm 5'11 and a size 12, but wouldn't wear them, I'd need to be at least a 10 to go near a pair.

I am 5'7" and a size 10 and am yet to take the plunge. The thought fills me with horror.

Think they look good with shirt dresses/knitted dresses and/or tucked into boots but don't own a pair. I did find a pair that I liked when the skinny jeans trend started but thought I wouldn't wear them so didn't buy them and now can't find a pair that suits me.

Oh and I'm almost 31, 5' 8" and size 12 IMO depends on the cut of the jean and what you wear with them.

I only wear skinny jeans which was a pain in the arse a few years ago because you couldn't buy them anywhere but now they sell em all over (which makes them easier to buy = good, every bugger wears them = bad). Being slim def helps. You can look a mess in them if you have a big bum, or big boobs (lollipop stick like!). I agree with wondercod - loads of middleaged women have cottoned on to the trend and wear them with boots and look wrong, wrong, wrong!!! If you are tall and slim they prob look best, but I think as long as you are slim in general they are ok. Also, depends on the jean, some just look awful on everyone! What's everyone's opinion on those high waisted ones? I can't decide. I want to hate them for being too fashiony, but I am starting to want to go and try a pair....even if it's to pmsl

Is skinny jeans tucked into boots a general no no then? or is it just on middle age women? I've just bought a pair and haven't worn them yet because i'm not sure what shoes look best (please don't say flat ones as i never ever wear flat shoes)

Depends on the boots. And how tight the jeans are. And if you are middle aged, ha ha - no only if you are a mutton/lamb type! I wear mine over the top. Can't get boots under em.

What is classed as middleaged? I am 28 but a size 14 so they would look like shite on me (have never actually tried any on). My sister is 40 but a size 8 and she looks great in them!! So I guess it's not actually the age thing but the size/shape factor?
