Cheaper alternative to Ash Titan biker boots?

ilovetosleep · 19/11/2015 22:04

I really, really love these (in the antique silver) but can't find anything like them for a more affordable price. I can't do £275 in a pair of boots. Under £150 max really. Can't find anything else I want as much as these! Thanks in advance!

Can you link to a photo of the ones you like please?

NormHonal · 19/11/2015 22:08

Try eBay for some secondhand ones? I have bought secondhand Ash boots before, they are very very hardwearing.

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 07:22

I'm not sure how to link on a. Phone but will do on computer ASAP

Office

burnishedsilver · 20/11/2015 09:21

Also from Office but only available in size 5.

AmberNectarine · 20/11/2015 11:18

How about these?

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 13:51

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. These are the boots boots

I saw the ones on Brand boudoir amber but I just don't like the black metal. They do have a very shiny silver version too that's the same price but I really like the antique look.

The office ones are good but just not quite perfect! Have to decide which is more important, perfect style or colour of the metal!

Loads on EBAY
What size are you?

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 14:28

I've searched ebay, I'm a size 5 and so theres nothing in my size. Unless they come up big?! there is a pair if size 4...

OP posts:
hellsbellsmelons · 20/11/2015 14:33

Is 37.5 a size 5?
here?
From US I know but should be OK?

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 14:35

Looks great - thanks! - although sizing doesn't tie up with the Ash website (they don't seem to do half sizes, and 38 is a 5...) could they be fake?

OP posts:
hellsbellsmelons · 20/11/2015 14:37

It's possible. From the US sizing could be a bit different.
They have 100% positive feedback.

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 14:38

I'm currently trawling kids shoes websites as I've done all the women's ones!

OP posts:
ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 14:44

Think I might risk those american ones if I haven't found anything else by the end of the day. I just don't want to have to send them back if they're too small!

OP posts:
HappenstanceMarmite · 20/11/2015 17:06

Those are gorgeous boots ilovetosleep. A few others I'd like on that site too. But their returns fandango puts me off. Can't be doing with taking parcels to Post Office diva

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 17:59

Haven't looked at the returns policy - it's it different from other sites? Are you talking about the ash website or one of the others? I should look at that really.,,

goddessofsmallthings · 20/11/2015 18:40

As US size 7.5 is an EU 37.5 which is UK 4.5, the eBay boots may be too small for you and, in addition, HMRC will charge you 20% VAT for buying outside of the UK which, including shipping, will bring the total cost to c£180 and you may find yourself out of pocket to the tune of £23 VAT plus the cost of postage to the USA if you should need to return them.

If you're not averse to buying secondhand there are a couple of ongoing auctions for size 5 Ash boots: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ash-Star-Stud-Biker-Boot-Size-38/181934097457?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Da48a5a1cda394b858cb68d1b3bdbdf59%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D221942516042

As this style has been reduced on the Brand Boudoir site: www.brandboudoir.com/womens-c1/ash-footwear-video-black-leather-studded-ankle-boot-p2855

If none of the above appeals, I would suggest you reconsider the Office 'Cracking' boots as it seems portentous that they're only availabe in your size. Smile

I'm sorely tempted by the Ash Tatum boots on Amazon uk but on balance I'd rather scuff the toes of boots myself than pay a considerable sum for a pair that have already been 'distressed'.

ilovetosleep · 20/11/2015 19:17

I really like Tatum too - there's something just better about the Ash boots than the office ones - as is the way with expensive things unfortunately! I also really like the Tramp boots - identical to Titan but shorter, and I'm short... But they're even harder to find!

Ilovetosleep, I'm also in the market for a pair - but I'm a 7/40. The pair I'm replacing are a different style good 6years old and I have basically lived in them. Ash boots are worth it!

goddessofsmallthings · 20/11/2015 20:21

Imo only Frye boots are worth the original cost and they now do a range of 'biker' styles such as www.theoutnet.com/en-GB/product/Frye/Jenna-studded-leather-boots/569855
and I was horrified to see they 'distress' them too: www.theoutnet.com/en-GB/product/Frye/Jenna-studded-distressed-leather-boots/641214

Twinklestein · 20/11/2015 20:26

I think stud boots are a bit over. It's more about buckles now.

But here are a couple anyway:

Harley Davidson

Aldo

goddessofsmallthings · 20/11/2015 20:51

Those Harleys are cool but I no longer have a chopper to wear with them Grin

IdentityRequest1 · 21/11/2015 10:55

See I feel like if I wore Harley Davidson ones, people would actually expect me to know about bikes Grin rather than just like cool boots.
Will watch your search with interest...

ilovetosleep · 21/11/2015 11:22

I just love the ash ones... None of the others are quite right. Think I might have to just do it. Will keep checking eBay...

OP posts:
IdentityRequest1 · 21/11/2015 11:27

Have you tried any Ash boots on before? Are you sure of your size?
