UGG's??

babyiwantabump · 17/11/2015 08:21

I really really need some comfy warm ankle boots - the only ones I can find that even half fit this description are Black Bailey Bow UGGs. But they are FUGLY! Aren't they? Would I be mad to spend £180 on some ugly boots?

I need ankle boot suggestions please !!

I bought UGGs this week from schuh imperfections for £46.99 they are great. I couldn't justify paying full price.

RonaldMcDonald · 17/11/2015 23:21

Seriously...they make me shudder. The leather versions are just boots and fine but the big sleepy outside slipperoos are baaaad

RonaldMcDonald · 17/11/2015 23:22

Sheepy

LondonHuffyPuffy · 18/11/2015 15:02

They are fugly
They are unflattering
They are ridiculously overpriced

But BY GOD I bloody love my Uggs. I have three pairs - Noira which are black leather and totally waterproof; Bailey Bow and a pair of slippers Blush

So damn comfy. And warm. And they do not make my feet sweat. Great for festivals and camping and also great for walking in London

swooosh · 18/11/2015 21:44

I have loads of Uggs, I think about 7 pairs but my weather proof ones are the 'Locarno' style. They don't sell this style anymore but I got mine on ebay a few years ago. They are leather ones and lovely!

swooosh · 18/11/2015 21:45

loads on ebay

Princesspond · 18/11/2015 21:54

Wow thank you noisy is Schuh imperfects the new branch 309? Oh how I've missed that site Smile

Outcomesthebunnyofdeath · 18/11/2015 21:55

I have ugg adirondacks, the tall versions and just love them. Super warm, super comfy and waterproof. I've had two pairs, both from ebay and not sure I can live without a pair when these ones die! Cba to link but have a google :)

dylsmimi · 18/11/2015 22:11

emsyj just been looking at those - they look fab. What do you wear them with?
Anyone have these (I may be in love with these!)

My lovely Bailey buttons got all wet and muddy Sad

simpson · 18/11/2015 22:14

I love my uggs, also bought on the imperfections site linked to but I bought them last year. They have done well... even went to a football match (to watch DS) in the mud and withstood a spin in the washing machine (although the colour faded slightly, the fit/comfort did not change).

itsthecircleoflife · 19/11/2015 00:45

How often are you going to wear them? In winter they are pretty much the only shoes I wear and they need to be replaced every year- after about six months I tend to find the stitching starts to split and then I can only usually get another few weeks out of them. But thats with me wearing them 95% of the time. My bikers lasted me two winters though and then they just looked scruffy.

babyiwantabump · 19/11/2015 02:07

I want some that I will pretty much be wearing every day - to places like the park etc as have a toddler and DC3 due in January too so they need to be pretty hard wearing .

From the sounds of it even though they are comfy they are not weather proof . Can anyone recommend any others? My current biker boots are on the way out so need some pretty soon!

Def try UGG bikers, I love them and do think they are worth the £ because most boots I find that are just as sturdy arent as warm and comfortable. I spoke to someone in John Lewis yesterday and on Black friday and that weekened (next weekend i believe) they are doing 20% off all UGGs.

I had Kensingtons but they are discontinued now, but the Noira is similar and they are £230. I know it seems mega expensive, but dont let what I said and that put you pff- you will have a good sturdy boot that is super warm and comfortable.

Krampus · 19/11/2015 07:53

I had found a part of the ugg site that allowed you to filter by water proof, or water resistant but cant find it now. If you put waterproof into the search box that will also box it will bring up a list.

Clarks to a range with gortex

I have these Doc Martens, the leather is much softer than standard dms.

Are these type too snow booty looking?

CAT are rugged, I had a pair of Cat Anna ankle boots for a few years and ended up donated them to a charity wanting good solid winter boots, they were still in great condition.
These are new in with CAT

I ended up getting some of these Superdry Hurbis to replace the CATs, the leather has needed a fair bit of breaking in but they're surprisingly rugged and well made. I am going to buy some furry insoles as the lining doesn't go on the foot bed. With Uggs i love the way that your entire foot is encased in padded wooly loveliness, thats hard to find else where.

Similar to one of the ugg styles and they creates a micro climate around your feet Grin

bishboschone · 19/11/2015 09:16

What size are your feet? I have a brand new pair of noira That are too small for me Hmm

PrimalLass · 19/11/2015 09:17

I love mine. I am wearing suede Ugg Finney boots most days at the moment, but for when it gets colder I have a new pair of brown leather short classic Uggs in the wings Grin

Ninkynonkrinkydonk · 19/11/2015 12:37

Krampus you're great! I'm looking for some biker style boots and you've given me loads to go on! I like the barbour kickstart the best I think. The only thing is, I'm a size 14. Will they fit my calves?

Ninkynonkrinkydonk · 19/11/2015 12:39

And if they won't, do you know which ones will? Currently have some ankle ugg boots, water proof leather ones, not the slipper type. Not sure on their correct name though.

polyhymnia · 19/11/2015 17:32

I very much fancy the Grandle ones.

But they are a bit higher than ankle height and I can't figure out what I'd do with my skinny jeans which I wear a lot. Can anyone enable me by saying how they wear them with skinniest, please?

TheSpectreOfMorningtonCrescent · 19/11/2015 17:33

Damn you all! I'd bought a pair of clarks Chelsea boots yesterday as both my old faithfuls have split. Then I quickly looked in mandm direct and ugg bikers for 89 quid. Now my dilemma is take chelseas back or keep?

CointreauVersial · 19/11/2015 22:36

I was in Costco yesterday - they had short real sheepskin boots (i.e. Ugg-alikes) for about £22. Chocolate brown, grey or black.

Next to these were a stack of actual Uggs, for about £120. I honestly couldn't see £100 difference.

dylsmimi · 20/11/2015 07:44

There are some kids 'Kensington' ones on shoe - would a size 5 for an adult 5?

I too like the Grendel ones - everyone who wears biker boots what do you wear them with? Would skinny jeans look right ? I tend to wear high boots with them

mammmamia · 20/11/2015 09:24

OP if you are due with DC3 and going to be on maternity leave etc over winter just get them. You will be busy and it will be cold and they will make your life easier and your feet cosier. I lived in mine on mat leave.

emsyj · 20/11/2015 11:00

I'm wearing my Grandles with skinny jeans today
dylsmimi - they are fine with leggings, skinny jeans *nd skirts with thick tights IMO. They fasten over the jeans - you would have no chance of getting jeans over them, they are thickly lined with sheepskin.
