Don't Queen - I have a VW dress I bought 3 years ago that I still haven't worn!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/11/2015 17:28

Envy i truly wish i had a VW dress that i'd boguht and not worn Grin tbf though, i probably have got things i've bought and not worn yet, just on the cheaper end of the spectrum!

i've so so much work to be getting on with but can't get motivated. i'm currently pulling up papers about the psychology of twins for one of my assignments which is a contextualization paper on a performance based around twins and chance. very in depth really, should have chosen a lighter option Grin

QueenCardi · 26/11/2015 19:02

amber how come you haven't worn it Shock. The only thing I haven't worn is my whistles lace dress but that was only bought 2 weeks ago and is being worn tomorrow.

Karcheer · 26/11/2015 19:11

I've a vw dress I've worn once and I'm too fat for now :(

Drywhitethanks · 26/11/2015 19:29

So this jumper arrived. It's going back. So wanted to love it. Beautiful quality, colour and style, but just not for me. I'm too short, it's huge and very long. Being sensible strange

Karcheer · 26/11/2015 19:39

I need some non Mnv advice.

Bear in mind I'm childless, so have no clue!
I do a charity thing each year where I'm allocated a child and I buy a gift. This year I have a boy aged 3... Help?!?!
What do three year old boys like?

AmberNectarine · 26/11/2015 19:45

It's gold, so not really an everyday dress. I'm going to dig it out of the wardrobe and see if it still looks any good now!

karcheer that's a lovely idea, have done similar a few times. My little boy at 3 was obsessed with trains (especially Thomas the tank engine or brio), so any wooden trains (you can usually get a started set like this for a reasonable price. He still plays with them loads now at almost 6.

AmberNectarine · 26/11/2015 19:46

But to be honest, any kind of vehicle based gift would have been a huge hit when he was 3.

This year he wants lego, lego and... More lego. Oh, and a toy microwave. DD wants disney princess everything.

Karcheer · 26/11/2015 19:51

I was thinking brio, so that's great, thank you.

QueenCardi · 26/11/2015 20:04

Yes I agree, trains were a hit here as well as swords. Although having an older sister he was also partial to a Disney princess!

amber if anyone can get away with gold during the day it's you.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/11/2015 22:29

amber i would and do wear gold dresses and skirts during the day, you absolutely could unless it's a real definite evening dress style. I might still be tempted if it were me though Grin

maradesbois · 26/11/2015 22:56

Lib too true Grin.

QueenC don't get me started on that 3 for 2 thing, bloody argos supposedly sold out of everything I wanted for the duration of it and now miraculously back in stock! Ok, no more mention of the A-word.

Karcheer agree with the others about wooden trains, plus doesn't matter what brand you buy as they are all a standard size and you can mix and match.

Am super happy today, got an A for my first uni assignment! No idea how I'm going to manage the next one though, have visitors and weekends away aplenty and it's due before Christmas holidays.

Karcheer · 26/11/2015 23:12

mara that's brilliant! what are you studying?

libertydoddle · 27/11/2015 06:46

Well done Mara!! Star

LinusLovesBretons · 27/11/2015 08:05

Well done mara, you must be so proud!

dry shame about the jumper. I have the same problem, some styles just completely drown me as I'm so short.

shop DS and DD love Paw Patrol as well. There's a few PP toys in our local toyshop if you want me to have a look for you?

karcheer yes trains, tractors, diggers, trucks etc are always a hit with a three year old boy. And if they make noise even better but the parents might not be too happy with that

shopafrolic · 27/11/2015 08:18

Bless you Linus I may take up your offer if it gets desperate. I have friends who work at the dreaded A stores head office so will ask them to check stock for me first. Thanks
Mara HUGE congratulations and very well deserved :)
For Dry

HappyGirlNow · 27/11/2015 08:56

Love the colour of that jumper dry - such a shame it didn't fit nicely...

amber love gold dresses! Makes me think of a strapless dress Cameron Diaz wears in What Happens in Vegas if anyone has seen it? Love it!

Just had a bit of a Black Friday spree:

French Connection coat Had my eye on this for a while but was reluctant to pay full price as limited use with colour..

French Connection top in both colours... Could be a good basic...

Zara cape

Red coat

Embroidered jacket Worth a punt..

Lace up shoes Usually unsure about mid heel but sometimes can't be bothered with a high heel going between pubs

Not sure re colour of these flats

Lace dress

Earrings

FedupNagging · 27/11/2015 09:53

That's excellent Mara well done. I can tell from your posts that you are really enjoying this course.

Karcheer yes definitely something vehicle related. Wooden trains are fantastic but my ds's and now dgs played more with the play mobile - the fire engine being the favourite.

Dry love the jumper - style and colour but agree you need to be tall to wear the style. Shame though.

Happy iPad playing up so struggling to,open links - will look later.

Anyone got any Black Friday bargains?

VivaVegas · 27/11/2015 10:50

Love the Zara red coat and high heels Happy.

VivaVegas · 27/11/2015 14:17

Hi, I think a number of you have this Next Top, did you size down and by how much? One or 2 sizes?

QueenCardi · 27/11/2015 14:40

viva ive got a size 6. Would be 8/10 in a normal shop. Wearing mine today actually.
Well done mara
happy good haul. Love the blue coat. If I didn't spend most my life in a barbour or north face I'd go for a cobalt coat.

Haven't even looked at Black Friday clothes offers as there's nothing I need ( but bought and box). I did order a silver rucksack last night though but I have a feeling that the straps will be too thin to be practical.

VivaVegas · 27/11/2015 14:55

Thanks Queen I'm normally a 10/12 on top so think I'll get an 8.

shopafrolic · 27/11/2015 16:05

Paige Jimmies reduced

HappyGirlNow · 27/11/2015 16:42

Shocking service from Gucci by the way.. UPS tried to deliver my disco... I was, you know, at work! You can't pick a delivery day..Called them to sort redelivery and Gucci won't allow them to deliver to an alternative address. Gucci also wouldn't allow me to pick up from the UPS depot even with full ID.

So.. If you work Monday to Friday 9-5 that's a bit of a problem.. No Saturday delivery in my area and unable to wfh due to certain meetings.

I had to email Gucci and ask them to contact UPS to tell them to allow me to pick up from the depot.

Appreciate these are high value goods but they've got to balance security with customer service.

Theweek · 27/11/2015 17:28

Thank you Blair, I shall try the jCSmilerew codes!
