I bought one today, wasn't really in the market for one but I couldn't leave it. Vince Camuto via TK Maxx - RRP £280 cost me £99.

It's water resistant, duck down filled, navy, bum covering and the most enormous, furry, fur lined hood. I'm in love.

This one

That is gorgeous - I love the furry hood! I went to Jigsaw to look at the ponchos and ended up buying this coat instead. It just needs to get cold enough to wear it now!

ChickenNuggetLover · 25/10/2015 19:30

Love that coat OP! I brought a parka last year though so can't justify another one. Trying to not buy another coat this year so shouldn't have opened this thread really Grin

mrslebon · 25/10/2015 22:23

Gorgeous Jigsaw coat!

I bought this one from John Lewis a few weeks ago and wore it this weekend with black skinnies and leopard chelsea boots.

I've always had wool coats but wanted a change this year and ended up with this parka

Like you coast, I love the massive furry hood. I can't wait for it to be cold enough to wear it daily!

ouryve · 25/10/2015 22:50

I've been after something longer and waterproof, as I'm outdoors, a lot, and have ended up treating myself to the Berghaus Ancroft in green.

I need something shorter and less hot for shopping and travelling in, mind.

this - for about £45

73dexter I did the same thing! Wanted a poncho and left with that coat- I love it! Had loads of compliments on it already and it looks great with jeans or work stuff. Jigsaw have got some fab coats in this season.

The first person who mentions that this coat is from Per Una is getting a smack upside the head, but I am v pleased with it. Perfect chartreuse shade for me and brightens up the sea of grey and beige I seem to have inadvertently bought this Autumn.

73dexter · 26/10/2015 07:22

Your coat is lovely Hopefully. I was wearing a jumper in the same colour yesterday and felt nice and bright as I usually wear grey or navy!

mowglik · 26/10/2015 09:04

Really liking all the furry hoods, wish I would look good in one, but I think my head is too small for huge hoods

Got this beauty yesterday, love the colour, its in my autumn colour palette and makes me look less grey Smile

73dexter · 26/10/2015 09:33

Oooh now that is lovely!

Coastingit · 26/10/2015 09:40

Love the Jaeger parka!

I bought a Cos wool hooded coat last year but I was working then, this year I'm a sahm and waterproofing / big furry hoods are more desirable than classy minimalist wool coats. Can't wait to get back to work in order to wear the Cos one though Wink

I like all the boyfriend / car coat ones but I never know how to wear them.

I love winter coats.

I was looking at that yesterday, hopefully. It's a lovely coat and a lovely colour, but unfortunately a colour that makes me look like a zombie

herecomesthsun · 26/10/2015 10:02

I love beige and camel coats, unfortunately they don't love me, personally I need bright colours - black with some texture will still just about be ok. I used to love black, verging on the goth, but have to be careful now.

I love love love the John Lewis blue car coat, saw it in the magazine and thought, what a great hit of colour.

I like this too

Debenhams turquoise

Can't wear camel and can't do belted coats, always look like I'm wearing dressing gown over a sack of spuds.

So lovely blue coat for the non camel coloured people...

Coastingit · 26/10/2015 10:20

That furry Hobbs one is beautiful! The colour is divine. I'm not sure I could get away with it in my life of Tesco / school run / park / soft play though.

Yes I figured I was better with the purple hooded one day to day, it's so cosy on the school run.

rahlikeatiger · 26/10/2015 10:36

Ooh love this thread and adore the parkas esp the hood on the Jagaer one :)
I went for a smarter choice this year as managed to this with 100 pound discount!

In the pale purple colour!

In contrast I got this the other year and still use it for everyday.

Love a good coat! :)

Coastingit · 26/10/2015 11:11

I like that Superdry one. I was eyeing up a Superdry one for this year but my impulse TK Maxx buy has won. I'm so pleased with it. I want it to rain and be freezing cold now!

OP posts:
MackerelOfFact · 26/10/2015 11:39

I've got this Superdry one. I hate overly branded clothing but the logos are very subtle on the navy.

I commute on the tube so I wanted something that would keep me warm and dry when I'm outside but not make me pass out from the heat while I'm crammed into a boiling, squashed, delayed train carriage.

MackerelOfFact · 26/10/2015 11:44

The owners of the boyfriend coats, are they not a little drafty around the neck and body? Do you pair it with a massive scarf or chunky jumper?

73dexter · 26/10/2015 11:46

I just wear a normal sized scarf if it is particularly cold.

101handbags · 26/10/2015 14:27

This one. I work in the City, I'm not planning to wear it at weekends etc. though.

alwaysrunninginheels · 26/10/2015 14:32

I have been wearing this one. Love, love, love it. It makes me smile. I'm aware I will freeze in the depths of winter but do not care.

Joneseygirl77 · 26/10/2015 14:38

I tend to wear mine with either a snood or a a bulky wrap type scarf. I like big scarves so always tend to have one on the winter. Snood seems to work well though- mine is a cream type one from White Company last year.
