I agree it looks boring but at an occasion like this, the normal rules don't apply. Short or even longish periods of polite silence are fine at an event like this. The Cambridgeshire will have been briefed on conversation topics but if they run out of steam, it really doesn't matter the way it would normally when eating dinner next to someone in silence would be excruciating.

When William & Kate got married there was a nun in the congregation, very very close to where the happy couple were (literally a couple of feet away from them)

I do think poor Camilla gets a really rotten deal, the press constantly hold her up against her predecessor which is so unfair. Just because she isn't quite so photogenic or good at courting the press, doesn't make her a dull person. I know for a fact that she is quite the opposite. As for Kate, why does her entire merit come from how she looks? So much for equality - women are still judged almost entirely by how they look rather than what they do. It is such a shame.

I think Camilla gets quite a good deal to be honest. The press seem to leave her alone by and large from what I can see.

The press don't hound her quite so much, but they are pretty mean about her appearance when she is mentioned. It seems generally acceptable to say very rude things about her on TV shows such as Mock the Week etc.

Horse definitely a real nun, I am friends with other nuns (really!) who know her.

Asteria but what does Kate do? If it might help if she actually did something worthy of comment - especially since she's in a unique position to do a vast amount for charity. However, as she mainly just rocks up in a frock to then stand about looking decorative, what else should we be saying about her?

As far as I know, this is a forum open to everyone with any interest in S and B, not a KM fan club. So I don't thinking that people who give their honest opinion about KM and her choices are 'spoiling' the thread if they're not rolling about in admiration/adoration of her.
