£20 to spend in M and S-what would you buy?

I won a guess the weight of the vegetable competition (yes really!) and the prize was a £20 M and S voucher and the massive vegetable!

I had a wander around today and but nothing caught my eye. Any clothes/shoe gems I might have overlooked? What would you buy? Inspiration definitely needed! I'd top up the voucher with cash for something good.

Knickers, bras and tights! Boring but the only stuff I buy in M&S.

FuckyNell · 16/09/2015 15:07

Food

AutumnshadesofGold · 16/09/2015 15:07

Food!

PurpleDaisies · 16/09/2015 15:10

I was very tempted to buy a load of nice food from there...that's definitely my back up plan!

I love the look of the bras in there (particularly the satin ones) but they never seem to sit right which is a shame.

Thanks for all the replies by the way!

def food...one or two of their dine in for £10 with the free wine, you can save a good deal on those if you pick the dearest wine/food option, if it is something you like

I heartily recommend the millionaire's shortbread moussey cheesecake dessert!

PurpleDaisies · 16/09/2015 15:25

Ooh that sounds good tondelaya. I love millionaire's shortbread. It says something about m and s fashion at the moment that no one is very keen on the clothes.

They do some really lovely skin care/toiletry ranges in there now. I discovered Skyn Iceland in M&S.

squoosh · 16/09/2015 15:41

Food or beauty hall.

PurpleDaisies · 16/09/2015 15:43

That's interesting to know-I haven't been round that part of the store for ages nabootique-I thought it was all old lady toiletries like it used to be. I'm about to run out of toner and have been meaning to try an acid one after all the rave reviews on here. Thanks!

They've gone very high end and trendy with the beauty products in M&S. Some great perfumes too.

JeffsanArsehole · 16/09/2015 15:50

The skin care and perfume section is really good now. Very department store-y

Toffeelatteplease · 16/09/2015 15:53

Jeans and other denim, basic jumpers, jewellery

squoosh · 16/09/2015 15:54

Just noticed why you won the voucher OP. That sounds so wholesome and old-fashioned. Grin

Enjoy the giant veg!

Phantomquartz · 16/09/2015 16:03

Actually, I quite like the M&S perfumes. I've got the Black Amber one which is quite eveningy and several people have commented on it.

sinninginacorner · 16/09/2015 16:09

I was given a £20 voucher around this time last year and bought a pair of leather gloves, really good quality and come in a good choice of colours, I find they're the only gloves I find comfortable when driving Smile.

hugoagogo · 16/09/2015 16:11

Bubble and squeak rolls and truckloads of veggie percysSmile

PurpleDaisies · 16/09/2015 17:38

Loads of great ideas-thanks everyone. I think I spent my time today on the wrong floor today...food and beauty all the way next time.

I am very proud of my enormous squash (3.5kg!) which I'll be eating for the next few weeks I think!

IloveChoo · 16/09/2015 17:39

knickers........

surpriseitsme · 16/09/2015 17:42

This is all very well but I need more details on the giant veg please!

surpriseitsme · 16/09/2015 17:42

Oooooh sorry missed the post with 'Squash' in it!

LittleMissIntrovert · 16/09/2015 17:46

Yes to the beauty department! And if you want even more choice you can order online with a gift card (not if its a paper voucher though I think). With free collection in store.

Their make up and perfumes are nice as are nail polishes and moisturisers etc.

ICanSeeForMiles · 16/09/2015 17:49

I love M&S indigo jeans, I just bought a pair of slim fit bootcut this morning. At 22.50 they surpass all the crappy Next offerings.

PurpleDaisies · 16/09/2015 17:52

It is a turban squash and weighs 3.5kg. I've never seen such a thing before but it felt about the same as my three guinea pigs when they're in the pet carrier so I ended up being spot on with my guess. I was very proud of myself!

I WAS going to point out Daisies that you have a £20 M&S voucher and some very willing mouths at home who would appreciate you visiting the Fruit'n'Veg aisle.
Even better if you hover about the reductions bit to get more.

Knickers indeed
