How you put on your bra apparently reveals your personality

Apologies for the daily mail link www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3205160/Are-clasping-influencer-fastening-supporter-way-BRA-reveals-intimate-details-personality.html a psychologist has decided that there are 4 ways to fasten and put on your bra

  1. Behind the back (means you're submissive)
  2. At the front and rotate (means you're and influencer)
  3. You guy a front fastening bra (means you're a commander)
  4. You fasten it before putting it over your head (you're a careful corrector)

Now, to me this is just bollocks, and the '4' methods should be interpreted thus.

  1. Behind the back - you have flexible shoulder joints.
  2. At the front and rotate - you may need a bra intervention
  3. Front fastening bra - you don't have d+ cup size
  4. fasten before putting over your head - JESUS CHRIST YOU REALLY NEED A BRA INTERVENTION! How loose is your band?

Also got to love that the video link below the article on how to get your bra size is one that does the add 4 or 5 method, putting Karen who measures 29" band, 37" bust (clothes) into 34C

What a ridiculous load of dross.

wanderingwondering · 21/08/2015 09:44

I do number 4 Blush I have tried intervention ing myself but they always feel far too tight.
I only have tiny boobs though and often just wear those crop top things as have given up on the perfect bra!

CalebWomble · 21/08/2015 09:44

1 - you are normal.
2 - you are 12.
3 - you wear ugly bras.
4 - you only wear crop tops.

DonkeyOaty · 21/08/2015 10:17

Well some of us have mobility issues -not connected with personality. Ho hum.

SuperFlyHigh · 21/08/2015 11:17

I do number 2 because it's the easiest bloody way to do it and I'm not faffing around for hours trying to fasten it at the back. THERE! don't care if Caleb thinks I am 12! Grin

it's the way I've always done it since I was 13 anyway...

sleepyhead · 21/08/2015 11:34

I was no 1. (therefore submissive) until I got a frozen shoulder a couple of years ago, since when I've been no 2.

News to me that loss of mobility would have the advantage of making me an influencer. I thought it just made me grumpy.

LowlLowl · 21/08/2015 11:37

Me too, Superflyhigh Grin

CalebWomble · 21/08/2015 11:38

I thought my analysis was just as insightful as the Fail's Grin

Zame · 21/08/2015 11:39

Number 2 cos I can't be arsed fiddling round at the back.
I'm definitely not 12 and like to think I'm fairly normal

ShadowLine · 21/08/2015 11:42

I've never seen a front fastening bra in my size. I'm evidently doomed to never ever be a commander Sad

WishIWasWonderwoman · 21/08/2015 11:46

Has this psychologist ever worn a bra?

I used method 2 (fasten and rotate) at the start of puberty and never since. I shudder to think of doing that now! Clearly, as you have pointed out OP, a lot of women are wearing the wrong sizes!

Bunbaker · 21/08/2015 11:50

Method 1 for me. This article is rubbish.

PuppyMonkey · 21/08/2015 11:52

I'm a front fastener and twizzler and proud to be 12. Grin

Bra intervention was bollox for me but then I have literally no tits and actually don't really need a bra. Confused

I also have a frozen shoulder so fastening a bra behind ain't gonna happen any time soon. Hmm

WhirlpoolGalaxyM51 · 21/08/2015 11:52

Do they ever write articles about eg how men put on their underpants and what it says about them?

Or are men allowed to get dressed how they feel like without being labelled "submissive" etc?

It's just ludicrous. Why was a psychologist looking at this? An interest in women and bras I guess??

lurkingaround · 21/08/2015 11:58

Snap! WhirlpoolGalaxy! I came on here to say the same!

What a heap of ole shite.

Quietlifenotonyournelly · 21/08/2015 12:09

Number 1 for me. But what a load of old tripe, whatever's easiest for the wearer is the best way regardless of personality type IMO

MrsJorahMormont · 21/08/2015 12:09

I'm a rotator too but my bras do fit well. I probably just shorten their lifespan a bit!

WhirlpoolGalaxyM51 · 21/08/2015 12:13

I think that how you put your bra on reveals:

  • How bendy you are
  • How your mum / sister / schoolfriends did it when you learnt from them when you were young

Do I get a job as a psychologist and a piece in the daily mail?

Ooh I know, if I add:

  • However women put their bra on, they are the cause of all the trouble in the world

I will definitely get a piece in the DM!

Just realised as well he missed some off:

  • Women who don't wear a bra
  • Women who wear more involved corsetry

Wonder why he didn't bother with them? I'm assuming it's a him, I may be wrong!

Toooldtobearsed · 21/08/2015 12:19

Why does number 2 need an intervention? Why am I wearing the wrong size if I swivel? Why have I been doing it wrong for over 40 years?? And why must I be a 12 year old to do it this way?

Couldn't give a toss on now people do themselves up personally, and have no intention of learning a new way at my age, but curiosity piqued now.

fuzzywuzzy · 21/08/2015 12:32

I do number 1 and 3. What does that make me? A submissive commander Hmm

Loved Sarah Millican's skit where she insisted she does up her bra and steps into it and then hoiks it up hahahahahaha.

BadgersBum · 21/08/2015 12:37

I wear a H cup so need the band to be good and tight for support (and still get ridges in my shoulders by the end of the day), if I tried to do anything but fasten it at the back I would take half my skin off my ribs with friction.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 21/08/2015 12:38

If you do 4 you really are wearing a bra with a band that's too big, quite a bit too big!!

I don't understand how people do 2 comfortably either. I'd have to wear the wrong size with really loose straps to do that!

1 is normal!

diddl · 21/08/2015 12:39

I do number 1 as that's how used to see my mum put her bra on.

Daughter can't seem to get to grips with it at all though.

I suppose with fronth fastening bras you don't get the adjustable band, but you'd think that that would have been the obvious way to go really.

Arm in the sides & do up at the front iyswim.

diddl · 21/08/2015 12:43

"2 - you are 12."

How bloody insulting.

I had a frozen shoulder for a while & had to do 2.

Or get husband to help with 1.
