Duo boots..now Ted and Muffy

Following on from earlier thread, I was in Slingsby Place today.

Oh, I bought some boots from there this week - my feet are small and wide so are very hard to get shoes. I got the Riddle Chelsea boots and they are very beautiful, but SO uncomfortable, and also don't appear particularly wide. The soles are scratched from wearing them in the house (not outside, but we have mainly wooden floors) so I am just going to have to persevere and try and break them in.

Their new marketing strategy seems crazy. Aside from awful name, they have put themselves up to the R and B price bracket, but without the wide choice and stylish shoes and boots that make me a loyal R and B customer.
Looked into the 'new' Covent Garden store the other day and just walked out. The shop itself wasn't appealing and there were no shoes or boots that I liked at all.

Incidentally, this takes the boots I fancy back to their old pre-sale prices so I am not yet tempted.

Yep, I just found them too (and have ordered). I am having to sit on my hands not to order more than one pair at these sensible prices.

Part of me wonders if they've completely shot themselves in the foot with their ludicrously pricey T&M relaunch and have actually had new Duo stock made to sell at sensible prices.

Really sad to see Duo Boots is no more. Just went on to the ridiculously named so called replacement Ted and Muffy. Much reduced range and much higher prices. Website is poorly laid out and very flaky. Tried to order something, but it didn't apply the promised discount. Just don't feel confident that this is a high quality business so have decided not to buy - dodgy name, dodgy website.

Shortly after they rebranded, they sent me a discount code for 25% off which was valid on all purchases for a very long time - if I recall correctly, it was over a year. I suspect they had some early negative feedback about the price hike. I bet they'll end up like Boden, where there's always a code available for a hefty discount; I never buy Boden without at least 20% off and free delivery.

Check out the new Hetitage range! Looks like they've been listening!! Much more my style and price. Yippee!! Couldn't be happier!!
