AIBU for not being able to find ANY high street shops or supermarkets selling normal boys trousers?

FuryFowler · 24/07/2015 17:31

All I want are some baggy combatty/cotton trousers for my 6yr old did. Not joggers or jeans, and not skinny chino types that taper at the ankle. Or have a stupid curved crotch (every single pair of next trousers!)
I've resorted to Boden sale items, as they're normal! But effing expensive!
Any recommendations?

BHS or debenhams

FuryFowler · 24/07/2015 17:35

Went in both yesterday and nope Confused.... They all go really skinny at the leg

Oh you could well be me Smile
I too have to resort to Boden as ds simply doesn't fit into the skinny styles. This style for boys has gone on for years now, longing for it to end! Boden not affordable for me at the moment so he tends to live in joggers.

accessorizequeen · 24/07/2015 17:37

H&M do some good plain trousers. Hate next carrot leg ones, as do my boys!

Pengweng · 24/07/2015 17:39

I was going to suggest H&M too. I get my DDs trousers from the boys section as she has a weird shape/hates things on her belly and boys stuff seems lower cut.

Pengweng · 24/07/2015 17:40

I'm a big fan of these twill ones. I bought them in a few colours.

Landsend (online)

electricflyzapper · 24/07/2015 17:44

Not that I am in the market for this at all, but those look tapered Pengweng. OP specifically did not want that feature.

Yarp · 24/07/2015 17:45

John Lewis

They do a range of quite traditional clothes

BertieBotts · 24/07/2015 17:45

I didn't find any good ones in H&M when I looked recently.

FuryFowler · 24/07/2015 17:46

Yeah looked in hm too! They all go skinny at the leg!

What about next combat style ones?? Debenhams has cotton ones in their sale

AugustRose · 24/07/2015 17:49

I feel your pain, DS2 (4) needs some new trousers and he struggles to get in the skinny ones as he has a bit of a belly. I could only find joggers or chinos with the elasticated bottoms which I don't like.

I love H&M but noticed most of theirs at the minute are skinny/tapered.

FuryFowler · 24/07/2015 18:52

Looks like I might be successful at John Lewis :)... But again expensive :/
It's crazy as atm I'm digging out my ds 2-3 month clothes for dd and all the trousers, from mainly next and tesco, are nice and baggy with no skinny shaping to them!
Just because it's fashion doesn't mean everyone's in to it Angry

OP posts:
FuryFowler · 24/07/2015 18:53

Because they were bought 3-6yrs ago!

I'm fed up of baggy ones. Ds1 is 7 and slim - most trousers hang off him.

MamaLazarou · 24/07/2015 19:32

Vertbaudet?

Loric · 24/07/2015 19:36

Have you tried outdoorsy places we picked up a load for ds there in the sales and they work brilliantly as their that thin stuff that is cool in the summer keeps the wind out and if they get wet dry in about 2 minutes plus extremely hard wearing for young kids

Loric · 24/07/2015 19:37

Sorry outdoorsy places like go outdoors and the big hiking/camping outlets

PigPlopper · 24/07/2015 19:41

I saw the title and immediately was going to reply BODEN! I know they are expensive, but they really do last. Either buy in bulk in the sale, or I buy slightly bigger and DS gets 2 years wear out of them. They wash really well and I have managed to pass on or sell worn pairs.

redpickle · 24/07/2015 19:47

Verbaudet!!! They do a range of fit styles. Brilliant. You can also choose different waist fittings and leg lengths.

Notso · 24/07/2015 19:49

Jojo go up to size 5-6 and do 'normal' trousers. Not the cheapest but there's usually a discount code. I'm gutted DS2 is just growing out of that size, he is only 4.

alleypalley · 24/07/2015 19:49

Mountain warehouse?

Suttonmum1 · 24/07/2015 19:50

Do as I do and find the ones he currently wears but a size bigger on Ebay
