What's the best fake tan for really pale legs?

Also I have quite cracked skin on my hands from eczema so I have to be careful not to get really stained hands.

Thanks

I'm using dove atm but not impressed, so watching with interest. My legs are deathly pale

Vita Liberata. There are several formulations but I use the deep colour no tint lotion. Any of them will do a good job but I think lotions are much more moisturising and streak-proof. Much more so than mousses (drying) and sprays (wreck your bathroom and dry so fast you'll have to work like lightning). Minimal fake tan stench from VL too. Prep like MAD. Exfoliate, moisturise. Those in-shower Nivea moisturisers are well suited to pre-tan use. Use latex gloves. (Buy a box of 100 in the chemist - so handy for lots of things like gardeningtoo.) Blend in circles. Go very easy on feet, ankles and knees. Buff these areas off with a soft dry towel once done. Rub swiftly between each toe with the dry towel too.
But obv you should do all over, not just your legs. Other places for the soft towel buff are ears, underarms, whole inner arm, under breasts. Take extreme care on hands. You need a wet facecloth for this bit. Take off the gloves and wash your hands, dry them and lash on moisturiser. Put on one glove. Dab a small bit of tan on the back of the hand and very thoroughly work into skin. Then with the glove still on, use the wet facecloth to thoroughly wipe the entire palm, heel of hand, inner side of index finger and thumb, and all knuckles (three joints). Then buff with dry towel esp inner wrist. If you can get the hands right, you're away.

villainous, just reading your post has exhausted me. I think I will have to stick with deathly pale legs!

NapoleonsNose · 01/07/2015 20:06

Also watching with interest. I bought the St Tropez shower stuff when it was 3 for 2 in Boots and I'm not very impressed with it. Wish I'd splashed my cash on some proper St Tropez now. Have used Fake Bake before and that gave me a nice colour and lasted well too.

DancingDinosaur · 01/07/2015 20:08

Ha ha, me too Jon Grin

MilliVanilliTinyWilly · 01/07/2015 20:26

I am blue of skin. Been using the St tropez gradual and my glow has been commented on. Don't look tan. Just healthy.

Figroller · 01/07/2015 20:31

I used cocoa brown one hour tan for the first time recently after seeing it recommended on here and was very impressed.

villainousbroodmare · 01/07/2015 20:45

LMAO, but it's SO nice when it's perfect and so dreadful when it's streaky and shite! Grin

Madamecastafiore · 01/07/2015 20:46

St Tropez every day spray. It's a very fine mist that you don't even have to touch. You can build the colour too as it's very subtle.

cuntyMcCunterson · 01/07/2015 20:57

It's not a fake tan but silly Hansen used to do a spray for legs. I just bought a shade darker than my own skin tone to make my legs less pale. I only used it for work/going out.

Rimmel sun shimmer makeup cream stuff is ok for taking the edge of s bluey-White leg I find. It's instant but washes off, more like foundation than fake tan.

Bakeoffcake · 01/07/2015 22:12

St tropez gradual tan is great. To get started, I do it in the morning then again the same night. By the next day you have a lovely glow.

SadieSue29 · 01/07/2015 22:26

I've used palmers cocoa butter bronze which is really good, doesn't seem to smell either, it's a gradual tanner.

Nettletheelf · 01/07/2015 23:53

I second cocoa brown. It's even better than St Moriz.

"Silly" Hansen (thanks for a good laugh, Cunty!) is the biz for instant colour. The artwork on the can is really dodgy but the contents are excellent.

nigelslaterfan · 02/07/2015 09:15

villiainous I just had to lie down in a darkened room after reading your awesome post!
But how do you reach all them other bits of yourself you can't quite see?!

Thanks for all advice - are you all really pale legged?

I don't think I'd have the patience villainous, I can't be arsed, spray on sounds as far as I'd be arsed!

Grin I enjoy it; I have the bathroom nice and warm, listen to the radio or a good podcast and just treat it as "me" time. I can reach my whole back so no problems there. I remember years ago a flatmate of mine got her boyfriend to apply her tan. They were both pretty pissed. She ended up with mahogany breasts and arse, deeply brown thighs and a patchy whitish back like a giraffe, while he had mahogany palms. No prizes for guessing which bits got the most attention!
thefudgeling · 03/07/2015 08:22

Another vote for Rimmel sunshimmer. I use the light shimmer version but you can get matt as well. It takes me a few minutes in the morning. Never streaks or looks orange. It's great.

gingeroots · 03/07/2015 08:38

nigel do let me know how you get on .I fear we are the same in the " can't be arsed " stakes .

nigelslaterfan · 03/07/2015 10:50

will do (puts on sunglasses in order to look at legs)

Superdrug do their own fair skin Solait. I thought it was very subtle and I'm pretty pale. It's really good, really cheap. Just moisturise your knees and ankles and buy a couple of applicator mitts from Primark - sorted!

SweetheartStout · 03/07/2015 20:33

St Moriz lotion for me. Have tried more expensive brands but always come back to this and it doesn't stink like some of them do! One application of the medium strength gives me a more 'normal' colour and I have VERY white legs. Two coats looks great but looks odd unless I've done the rest of me too. Smile Invest in a mitt, it makes application miles less messy. I find it wears off evenly too.

Annarose2014 · 04/07/2015 00:27

Cocoa Brown One Hour for me too. Cheap and very natural.
