I bought quite a few items during my last days in Italy (a clutch and necklace from Coccinelle, sunglasses and a bracelet from & Other Stories, two lipsticks and an eyeliner from Kiko) and ordered a Korean serum from a -50% sale, but ever since I've been in a total shopping ban and completely free of shopping urges.

Will do a no-spend August but might allow myself one Korean beauty product.

I still haven't spent anything apart from the £20 on a pedicure. I nearly brought a pair of shorts in the sale in New Look yesterday but it would've been an impulse buy. By the time I'd walked away and thought about it, the feeling had passed!

I really tested myself on Saturday. I found myself with a free hour and a half to fill in town and ended up wandering round the shops!!!Shock precisely what I've been trying avoid doing. And I was really good!!! I was hardly tempted at all in most shops, which was a revelation. I tried on a pair of sandals in Clarks which were lovely but I told myself I didn't need them, which was true. I fell at the last hurdle (primark!) and bought some hair clips, invisible socks (both needed) and a huge blanket tartan scarf which was a much looked for item last winter which I never quite found...this one was perfect and only £5!

All in all I was pretty pleased with myself and wished I'd taken a book and found a nice cafe and read for an hour instead.

Definitely trying for no buy August though!!

im in!!! i need this! i have 2 nights out planned this month (this fri & sat 22aug) & im trying my hardest not to buy something new to wear. thats what i do, i instantly look on clothes websites the moment i get invited out! SO ive deleted all the clothes apps on my phone (i know i can still go on website but dunno just easier to view the app so got rid of them) and had a gud look through my wardrobe instead! good luck every1!

I bought 2 pairs of leggings (M&S) which I was searching for so must be destined ;and I need to get my haircut but that's about it I reckon.

I saw a beautiful scarf in Matalan a silky smooth (black or cream) and I nearly bought it .............

May have to go back.

August might be a no impulse spend month?

FrugalFashionista · 29/07/2015 14:23

I've only bought food. Have been going through my makeup, skincare and wardrobe and I have about 20% too much of everything. Having so many clothes that I like that winter sweaters need to be stored elsewhere and my skincare and makeup drawers are overfull is a huge motivator to stay away from shops.

I walked through a shopping center. This season's sales look dismal and I'm also not thrilled by AW15 so will take a break from S&B shopping.

ZaraW Botswana sounds amazing!
