I've have had strong occasional shopping urges but have been able to resist them. No-buy is better for my willpower than lo-buy as my definition of low is, erm, flexible Wink

I failed. Gap sale, a couple of good quality tshirts from h & m and a hooded cardigan from tk maxx.

I would say, in my defence, we booked a short sunshine break in October on Monday but I really didn't need any of these lovely bargains so yes, I failed.

Greenstone · 09/07/2015 13:55

I failed too. A jumpsuit is on its way to me. Unless it's perfect it's going right back.

ZaraW · 10/07/2015 09:42

Going on holiday on Wednesday borrowed some camping equipment from friends and decided I don't need clothes. Urges for shopping going and for once feel in control of spending.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/07/2015 10:50

I picked up some jeans in Next to try on but the changing room was shut so I put them back.
I went to M&S and saw some really nice soft trousers , but I resisted (though I might go back on that, they were lovely)

I bought washy stuff for DH and DS, shoes for DD, nothing for me Sad

Twinklestar2 · 11/07/2015 22:31

I brought a work bag from TK Maxx today. I do need one though as I'm back at work in September after a year of maternity leave and before that I was using Cath Kidston one which really isnt smart enough for work. The is big and tan and goes with everything, holds so much and is also slouchy enough for casual use. so win win all round.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2015 20:52

I took DD and her mate out shopping and I spent less than £5 in Superdrug (conditioner and hair masque)

Greenstone · 14/07/2015 09:41

The jumpsuit I ordered turned out to be practically perfect in every day Shock can be casual, can be dressy. Going to try it on again today just to be sure it definitely isn't heinous but...but I think it's a keeper.
No more anything for the rest of the month now, under any circumstances.

mixedpeel · 14/07/2015 10:43

Tsk, 70, how much did that halo polish set you back, eh?

Twinklestar2 · 14/07/2015 14:53

Link to the jumpsuit please greenstone!Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/07/2015 20:08

Ahh, I already had a tin of halo polish indoors mixed Wink

My £5 bargains pales beside what DD and her mate spend............

Greenstone · 14/07/2015 20:56

It's this one Twinkle

navy slouchy

Twinklestar2 · 14/07/2015 22:40

That is lovely!

Annarose2014 · 15/07/2015 09:51

Well I'm out. Couldn't resist these silver holographic Birks at 30% off on ASOS with only my size and size 2 left! It was meant to be!

I am in total love. Blush

(There was size 2 left last night if anyone knows someone who'd love them as much as me, but probably only one or two pairs as I obviously got the last bigger one left.)

Low-spend July - anyone in?
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/07/2015 14:27

How y'all doin' ?

I bought the Next jeans (out shopping with DH so he could tottle off and find me things to try on if need be) but I tried on two pairs and chose one.
Might go back for another pair of Next (though DH said it looked like I had smudged anti-perspirant down the front - they are dark wash with a lighter area. He has no clue Hmm )

Walked past The Body Shop with it's £12 reduced to £8 huge shower gels.

Considered buying a paisley print blouse online but though I loved the colour, unsure of the sleeves.

Coastingit · 17/07/2015 18:58

I might have bought a white cotton sleeveless blouse with red chinoiserie type patterns on it from Sainsbos. It's lovely, and pure crisp cotton and the red is a perfect tomatoey one theta really suits me. And it ended up in my basket. I have worn it already and am happy with it, but I am terrible for buying tops! I am postnatal and need jeans or shorts that fit - I have one pair of each that fit. But no, I can't stop myself when faced with a nice top Confused

And Boden sent me a £10 voucher and I had a free delivery code so I bought a yellow and white Breton. Which I'm wearing right now and it's sunny and happy - but it's a top fgs!

I did buy some trousers - skinny charcoal combats from Hush in their further reductions they were £25 down from £79 and I'd eyed them at full price - but I bought them in a size 8, which is my pre pregnancy size... I'm not a size 8 and they won't get over my thighs

Twinklestar2 · 17/07/2015 19:33

The Yellow and white Breton sounds lovely. Pic pls!!

FrugalFashionista · 17/07/2015 19:48

I'm still onboard but flailing a bit as I bought three more Kiko items, a leather clutch, a necklace, a pair of sunglasses and and bracelet from &Other Stories during my last days in Italy. And one Korean serum the other day. To compensate, I have spent almost nothing in the past week, and I am planning limiting my cosmetics purchases to max one Korean item per month for the rest of the year. On a total shopping ban until the end of this month.

Isn't this the way the Wise and Avid threads started out? People vowing to spend less and then discussing their purchases...? Grin

My sunshine top is this - click on the yellow and white colourway to see it. It isn't a colour I often buy but it has made a day of grumpy uncooperative removal men and grumpy uncooperative children a tad more cheerful.

Twinklestar2 · 21/07/2015 08:24

That IS a cheerful top Smile.

I've been doing what Frugal has been doing and have been ' shopping my wardrobe'. It's been great wearing some dresses from years ago. I even got called sexy the other day! And there was me complaining I had no summer dresses!

daimbardiva · 25/07/2015 09:44

I'm still here....I've done pretty well apart from a rather spectacular deviation, a Didrikson winter coat!!! This is something I do really need and it was an amazing reduction. I love it and know I'll get years of use out of it. I have a few clarks pairs of shoes on the way - will only keep one. I ordered them as during my decluttering I realised that I don't own any truly comfy black heels. Or tan ones which can be a good alternative to black.
I have been living in a navy maxi dress from dp this month. If I see a black one in the sale I may get it as I've loved the style so much.

Reading back that sounds like a lot of purchases - however I comfort myself w the fact that they're all thought through and targeted. And true bargains.

And I've bought no skincare or make up. Hurrah!!

May be brave and go for no buy August ...

Although I wish I hadn't seen that gap jumpsuit above. Gorgeous!!!!

Itsalldramarama · 25/07/2015 11:06

Well I have succeeded with a low spend :) just essential skin care , enough to last the month out , a few slouchy tees and that's about it !! Have lost a few pounds so have ' shopped' my wardrobe for jeans ! 3 pair that now fit ,and I've give up the hair dye :0 . Here's to a low spend August :) .. Just more skin care I think ..

Valsoldknickers · 25/07/2015 13:03

I have done 'okayish'.

Was away and bought a pair of espadrilles as they are much cheaper in Spain than at home.

Also, I bought a pair of shorts for €5 in the cheapo supermarket as well because AF had to come for the 2nd week of my holiday Angry and I needed them as I didn't have spare tankini bottoms (note to self for next time - always have a back up pair of black tankini bottoms).

And finally a little splurge on a pair of earrings.

Ok, that wasn't great (and of course had to buy usual hair colour, cotton wool etc) but it was good for me. Have to concentrate on clearing credit card bill. When this is done will save and get the Lumea as my hairy bits are just getting me down!

Roll on low spend August!

Valsoldknickers · 25/07/2015 13:06

Btw, I am in awe at some of the restraint being shown here! Even for those who have succumbed there seems to have been fair consideration given before parting with the cash!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/07/2015 18:51

I've been really good (since the jeans)

Bought a 3 pack of toothbrushes Grin but resisted a blazer in uniqlo.(I liked the grey but it wouldn't fit into my wardrobe and the black looked shiney)
Tried a blazer on in New Look but it just felt wrong.

Oh, bought socks for work (M&S)
