I found several other fairly disturbing products on the Memebox site...

But this must be the cutest snail cream ever... From Ladykin!

So I tottered over to eBay to look for frugals cute ladykin discovery to find they make a broccoli essence. Broccoli?! I'm more revolted by that then putting essence of snail and starfish on my face. Eau de school dinner? Wink

GrinAndTonic · 17/06/2015 23:03

Ooh I just found sheet masks on AliExpress. Hopefully they are not fake but if they are not then they are a bargain. $US10.50 for ten.

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 06:56

I have given up on my beautynetkorea order. Not only has it been a month but they are also not responding to any emails.
I won't order from them again.
lesson learned.
All my eBay orders turn up quickly and I know I have some sort of redress if they don't arrive.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 18/06/2015 08:26

BigButtons- sorry to hear that and thank you for your warning. I will avoid them.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 18/06/2015 08:28

Did you pay with PayPal or a credit card? You should still be able to claim the money back.

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 08:29

They did reply! They said I should wait up to 40 days before I contacted them again.
There is no reason for it to take that long. Other companies manage to get goods here much more quickly.
I would definitely avoid shopping with them.

daftyburd · 18/06/2015 09:11

I ordered from f2plus1 on eBay with no problem. With the order was a 10% off voucher for beautynetkorea. Think I will leave it now. No point in saving 10% if they don't arrive. Will just pay more on eBay.

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 09:46

Yes, I have had no problems with anything i've ordered via eBay!

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 09:48

Frugal, I neeeeed that snail! Just to look at Grin

bigbuttons what a pain in the arse with your order! I'm waiting on one with the last delivery day being today - postie has been so unless it's with postie in a van I'll be contacting them later on.

Grin, I didn't think to look on aliexpress, will have a mooch shortly - have straps to attach to a prom dress for next week first.

All drama here this morning - one of the lads on the way to school put through a car window (not mine) with the smallest stone possible Confused so have been speaking to the police as a witness.

ScrambledSmegs · 18/06/2015 09:50

Thanks for the warning, bigbuttons, and sorry to hear about your order. What products were you waiting for from them?

I tend to buy from EBay too, now. It just feels like I have more security. Although I have been looking at the 'how to buy through Avecko' guides and think I would like to do that sometime, if I can balance the shipping costs properly.

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 09:56

Eek! The snail is £13 plus £3 delivery on ebay Shock

TheWombat · 18/06/2015 09:57

I am totally baffled by Avecko, I just cannot understand how it works. It seems to involve translating Korean into English and back again, and a lot of maths to work out the cost..Confused

I'm now lusting after frugal's snail cream, although no-spend June is working out quite well now - we too are moving in a couple of months so I need to save up for exciting things like removal men and stamp duty So far, I've added to my enormous ebay watch list and purchased exactly nothing!

Sorry to hear of the beautynetkorea disaster bigbuttons Angry anything I ordered from f2plus1 on eBay has arrived quickly. Wonder if they are packaged up and sent in different places?

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 09:57

scrambled I was waiting on the snail bee essence, the sponge thing and something else I can't remember!
What are the chances of it turning up today after all my 1st world moaningWink.Face is still recovery mode after my illness. Spots galore!

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 10:01

That snail container is just brilliant! I want one( but I won't buy one). I am excitedly waiting for my Sulwhasoo face and eye creams.

wombat how is your leg doing?
frugal where are you moving too? ( nosey)

ScrambledSmegs · 18/06/2015 10:03

Ooh is it the Benton one? I've got the sheet masks, they're divine, if a little oddly shaped. The solution on them is wonderful, makes my troubled skin feel soft and clear.

Sorry. Probably doesn't help you right now, does it?

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 10:04

I need to finalise my shopping list today...having a minor dither for a change over what to get now Confused

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 10:06

Just out of curiosity, I looked up the snail on amazon too...£50 bloody quid! I think that is one for the lottery win wishlist Shock

ScrambledSmegs · 18/06/2015 10:08

The snail pot is fantastic. I love the inventive packaging in Korean beauty, so much fun. I saw some nail polishes shaped like ice cream cones yesterday, in really vibrant colours.

I keep thinking about that Joseon Dynasty cream. I can't buy any more now though - we're in the process of moving house too, and we need the money. Also I may not receive the packages if they go to our old house.

bigbuttons · 18/06/2015 10:09

Yes it is the Benton one. So glad the masks are good. Here's hoping that if it ever does arrive it will be just as good as the masks you tried!

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 10:09

There is a travel sized 5ml though on yesstyle (which I have never heard of) for £3 ish...

I ought to crack on really -this is much more fun though Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 18/06/2015 10:20

Lucysmam - I found a good thing to do was make a list of what I used in my skincare routine every day and then made a note as to a) whether it worked (Y/N) and to keep it and b) what was I missing from my routine. Also made a note as to what each product did. I do love a good spreadsheet.

It was then easier to see that I particularly wanted to add hyaluronic acid (in form of Muji moist lotion now, Hada Labo next time) an essence, a sleeping mask and an eye treatment. Everything else I will replace as and when I run out.

FYI I can't see myself buying a Korean serum soon as the Ren Evercalm serum is so good for my reactive skin. Ditto TBS camomile cleansing oil. I really love the gently herbal scent and how effective yet gentle it is. They do have some great products amongst the over-scented dross!

ScrambledSmegs · 18/06/2015 10:28

Really lucysmam?! Can you link it please?

lucysmam · 18/06/2015 10:33

mini snail.

I haven't looked any further than that though so no idea what their postage prices are atm Smile

mowglik · 18/06/2015 10:42

Good idea scrambled I am guilty of buying products I don't need or have multiples of just because I like the look or sound of them :/ I do like to have a few of the same thing though eg 2 essences, 4 cleansers. Need to start making my way through them now - will indulge in sheet masks as ny frivolous spends as it's good to have a choice of those

Again lovely skin this morning following snail gel though it was better yesterday no doubt because of the birds nest mask and serum layering. Will do that again tonight.

I also saw this which looks like it could be useful for sealing in serums, perhaps using in the shower and giving DH a fright
