I've found the holy grail- of foundatio

Bloggers were raving about Kevyn Aucoins sensual skin enhancer, so I bit the bullet and got it from cult beauty- I. Not near anywhere that stocks it so had to go by colour swatches. The colour was fine, but it just wasn't as fabulous as I expected for £36. I tried primer, no primer, brushes, fingers, moisturising with embryolisse, exfoliating, and it still clung to the couple of drier areas of my skin. The other one I'd been strongly considering was Face Atelier, apparently madonna and her dancers all wear it, it's also silicone based so you don't need a primer.

It arrived today, I cleansed, moisturised and put it on with my fingers. When I looked in the mirror I was blown away!- it's got the dewy look I wanted, didnt settle into pores, covered brilliantly with a tiny bit, and makes me look ten years younger. It's supposed to also be sweat and waterproof- this is why I wanted a good foundation, going on hols I'm two weeks ive been wearing it since 2pm, no settling into creases, looks as fresh as a daisy.

It's definitely well worth getting a sample of this one, ladies, it's the BEST I've ever tried. Au recourse Kevyn aucoin! I'm a bit gutted at spending all that, I used it as a blogger suggested, with a fresh cotton bud each time, so there's literally nothing out of it- can you sell used make up on ebay?

Posted this earlier but it was removed ? why. Try again: I also love this foundation, and used the code facesummer10 (in caps) to get ten percent off recently at coco beau. I don't know if its still active, and don't think it's valid for samples as past ones haven't been, but handy if it is. I don't wear liquid foundation every day, but when I do its the one I turn to.

poorbuthappy · 31/05/2015 18:53

Samples ordered. Hope it works out better than the Lily Lolo debacle...

chocolateyy · 31/05/2015 19:02

this site is quite good for colour matching

daftyburd · 04/06/2015 22:15

I tried out my sample today. Ivory was the perfect match for me and it went on lovely. Didn't need my heavy duty dermablend concealer though right now I only have one spot.
Looked lovely all day. Really impressed op and will now be investing in a full size bottle. Will maybe keep it for nights out as I have a BB aircushion for Summer day time.

poorbuthappy · 05/06/2015 08:37

I'm still waiting for my samples. Hmm

LaurieFairyCake · 05/06/2015 08:40

Me too Hmm

aintgonnabenorematch · 05/06/2015 08:52

And me! Think they might have had a run of MNetter orders!

Buttwing · 05/06/2015 08:58

And me! I was coming on to ask if anyone had got theirs yet!

Shonajay · 05/06/2015 10:30

Dafty that's brilliant, I'm so pleased. Remember always shake the bottle as its silicone so needs mixed well apparently. So glad it's working for you.

Poorbuthappy what was the lily lilo debacle?

If anyone is thinking of ordering from MAC this weekend you get free delivery and a free sample of their false lash mascara (which isn't great). The free delivery is good, I wanted a lipstick and hate paying £3.99 extra! It's ridiculous.

How can make up places justify this when it would be a quid to send normally?

Mine arrived this morning- looks like a good colour match, so just going to wash current make up off and give it a go.

poorbuthappy · 05/06/2015 10:54

The Lily Lolo debacle was just the fact that their foundation didn't suit me at all and was a complete waste of time and money even ordering the samples!!!
I did send them on to a fellow MNetter though Grin

tethersend · 05/06/2015 11:00

Ooohhh, it's nice... Goes on VERY nicely, don't need much, good coverage, doesn't sit in pores... Lovely gentle sheen to it. Will check back at the end of the day.

Apatite1 · 05/06/2015 13:41

Sounds good. I've ordered a sample of wheat whilst scoffing my lunch!

QueefOfTheDamned · 05/06/2015 17:22

Mine arrived yesterday. I ordered Ivory, wheat and sand and wheat is the best match for me (usually wear Chanel Vitalumiere 20 Clair). I like the coverage and finish so have just ordered a bottle. you only seem to need a teeny amount so hoping it lasts longer than my Chanel one too.

tethersend · 05/06/2015 17:22

It's lasted vv well... Not shifted yet. Haven't been doing anything particularly strenuous, but it's not gone patchy at all.

Am very impressed, thanks for the tip OP Smile

aintgonnabenorematch · 05/06/2015 17:33

I got really excited thinking my samples had arrived when I got home but turned out to be the Fybogel sachets I ordered.

Far less glamorous!

SteamyMcDreamy · 06/06/2015 10:03

How are you ordering the samples? When I have looked on the sites they are only selling full size bottles.

SteamyMcDreamy · 06/06/2015 10:06

Sorry. Ignore my last post. I've just found somewhere to buy the samples.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 06/06/2015 10:30

I've just bought a Clarins one for the first time, I'm really pleased with that. I had a YSL one before which I think was the wrong colour as you could definitely see a tidemark but you can't see any lines with this one. It was £27.50 and as I bought another product (for £18) I get a free 30 facial.

To their credit, they didn't even mention the facial until I had paid so I was pleased about that. Even though I'm sure they will try and flog me a few bits and pieces Grin

ScrambledEggAndToast · 06/06/2015 10:31

*30 minute

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 06/06/2015 10:57

I can't see this on cult beauty now?

Where is best to get it?

mayflowermay1 · 06/06/2015 12:48

GolfHotel cocobeau have samples. As far as I remember there's a link to buy a shade when you're on the foundation page,
