I appear to be the only Mum at school without a padded gilet . . .

am I missing out?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:11

No.
my mum bought me one - she made it sound cool and funky (had a furry gilet last year, v good) but it is not
it is horsey
I wear it for taking the bins out

ellenrosethenotsosecretpirate · 09/11/2006 17:15

You see, that was what I was worried about - one of them wears it with her navy hunter wellies - don't need to say more

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:17

must admit I don't go that far
but I do wear cords a lot (in a funky way, you understand)
and the gilet just pushes it over the edge

beckybrastraps · 09/11/2006 17:19

Oh dear.

I wear cords.
And a padded bodywarmer.

But NOT hunter wellies.

MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:21

ah, but bet your gilet's nicer than mine
(am never trusting mum with clothes again)

Well, I like it

My only problem is that both ds and dd also have them. And I refuse to go out all dressed alike...

deegward · 09/11/2006 17:25

With my 34H boobs tend to shy away from gilets, altho' have to admit I seem to be only one at school without. I have to keep telling myself that I will look like a overstuffed sausage roll.

ellenrosethenotsosecretpirate · 09/11/2006 17:30

Ah, so Mrs Badger, are you saying it is the style of them I need to be cautious over rather than excluding them completely?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:34

yes absolutely

see, this one is horsey
this one is kind of trendy
this one is cool in a snowboardy kind of way

pointydog · 09/11/2006 17:40

They are upmarket mums. Are you with 'em or agin 'em?

beckybrastraps · 09/11/2006 17:42

I am "cool in a snowboardy kind of way".

Only of course I'm not!

MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:46

you need to go for link{http://www.kew-online.com/kewwebshop/shopdetail.aspx?season=0602&sty_num=6020&sty_qual=101\this} look rather than this one.

MrsBadger · 09/11/2006 17:47

don't understand gilets

if you're cold, wear a coat
if you're not, don't

just make up your mind fgs and don't walk around looking like a pratt

Gobbledispook · 09/11/2006 17:55

Mine look Ok I think with my combat-type pants and boots. Actually, look good with jeans and also skirt and tights.

Not worn mine for a while though as it's too bloody cold - need a coat with arms atm!
