I don't think she looks that skinny

suzannecanthecan · 16/05/2015 09:49

?If she really is 5ft 8 and 8 stone then that gives her a BMI of 17, if I let mine drop that low I would look emaciated, to me she looks slender but not unhealthy.
Perhaps she has quite low muscle mass?
That way you could have a low BMI but just enough body fat to not look emaciated ?

I think eating very little isn't bad for you. If I'm on holiday or staying with people, in a situation where I am eating three square meals a day - I feel so bloated and puffy and clogged, and quickly put on weight. Left to my own devices I don't eat breakfast, snack lightly in the day and have a decent dinner. My body is happier like that and I hate the whole three square meals thing, I think it's very weirdly British. I do have blowouts where I stuff myself, but only ever once a day in the evening. I think overloading your body is bound to age you, and not just make you fat - your body is having to constantly work to get rid of all the crap. When I was at my lightest I rarely poo'd! Grin

I have the same attitude to exercise - I have an active lifestyle but don't do structured exercise like running or gymming or anything - I do like the idea of Pilates though. Not stressful on the body.

I feel best when I only eat during the day nothing after 6 Since ds went to uni I started eating a meal with dp every night which I didn't always do previously and I soon looked fat and felt tired as I couldn't sleep. I am about to ditch that meal again

suzannecanthecan · 16/05/2015 10:03

Everyone is different, I have to eat 2500 to 3000 calories per day to keep my weight over seven and a half stone
LH must have a very low metabolic rate if she really does eat hardly anything! ?

noddyholder · 16/05/2015 10:05

Depends on age too weight is harder to shift after about 45 ime I used to decide on a monday I needed to drop a few pounds for a particular dress at the weekend and it was easy but now it wouldn't work

Frostycake · 28/05/2015 10:32

3000 calories a day! Shock

Jesus, I'd be huge if I ate that much. When I was young, I always tried to stick to around 1000 calories a day otherwise I'd gain weight. It's even harder now that I'm older.

I'm guessing she has a painting in the attic...
