Aaarrrghhh, gave in to temptation induced by this marvellous thread - I've been trying to register on the Missha Germany site since last night but every time I click on 'create account' it just goes to the home screen. If I then try to log in I get 'Sign in is not possible with this data. Check your input values'.

Anyone else experienced this terrible predicament, or is it personal Confused

lucysmam · 16/05/2015 10:41

big would you mind linking the powders you use for making serum and a 'how to'? I quite enjoy diy skincare so might order some sheet masks and have a play next time I have some spare cash Smile

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 11:08

MyMeMy we got this error too! Something went wrong in the registration (make sure to fill out every field, even the idiotic ones) and then the confirmation never arrived, finally we registered with a different e-mail address and it was fine. You can also e-mail them [email protected] in English and just ask if it is possible to order directly (they answered me in English). They have a brick&mortar store somewhere in Germany so you are dealing with actual people, not robots. There is another European English-language site at missha.ee, it looks more modern, but I couldn't find that specific intro kit there. The pouch is really cute and I like to try tester size products before I commit to purchasing full-size stuff.

Bigbuttons my cotton sheet mask is now dry and ready for reuse! If the snail bee essence ever arrives, it would be perfect for this. 50 Shades of Snail says that most cheap sheet masks are made of water, glycerin and butylene glycol, I am sure your masks are a lot better as you are able to put in exactly what you need and there is no shelf time!

I got an intriguing e-mail in Japanese last night, couldn't understand a word but it included a tracking number, it seems that Biore sunscreen is now in Milan, let's just hope it does not get stuck in customs there

frugal that website is great. I love reading the reviews. I am not allowed to buy more until i have worked my way through the ones I actually have and the ones that are on some aeroplane somewhere!

I wore the sleep mask yesterday. i wouldn't say my face is more hydrated per se but my eyes are a bit less wrinkly. That could also have something to do with the fact that I have had just had over 12 hours sleep( had an exhausting week!).
lucysmam
I make 2 serums. One is a vit c, ferulic acid, vit e and ha one
The other is the niacinamide/NAG one.

I get most of my ingredients from a site called active formulas

There is also a site called EDS and it has a forum which has an amazing recipe section. From the very simple to the more complicated. it is worth joining if you haven't already. My serum recipes come from there.

MyMeMy · 16/05/2015 12:52

Thanks Frugal, I think I'm going to have to email them directly. Like you, I'd prefer to try products before committing to full sizes Thanks

lucysmam · 16/05/2015 12:59

ohohohoh!! I am excited! My sheet masks arrived while we were out at footy training with dd1. I was most disappointed they hadn't arrived with the postie this morning so went hunting in some of the cheaper shops (Savers/Wilko/Bargain Buys) thinking they might have something similar but no joy Sad

Imagine my delight when I came home to the teeny parcel Grin ...why they weren't in the normal post is beyond me Confused

big thank you for the link and forum recommendation. We're off back out to a birthday party shortly so I'll save them for a read with Brew while we're there Smile

SilverSamhainFairy · 16/05/2015 13:20

I woke this morning to soft, smooth skin..was a bit worried, area around my eyes felt a bit itchy during the night but there is no redness or irritation. The English instructions on the tube state to use Hylauronic Acic only 3 or 4 times a week. I plan to start a Mon- Wed - Fri routine.

Am def going to purchase Holika BB cream at next pay period.

Love this thread so much....

m0gz · 16/05/2015 15:13

Just back from the 99p shop. Stocked up on clearasil pads and also got some of the coppertone products someone mentioned earlier in the thread. The coppertone products were 3 for 99p so it seemed rude not to Grin

Which masks have you got lucysmam? I'm still dithering about whether to get some lrp spot stuff or get some masks, pink spot and a bb cream.

wickedfairy · 16/05/2015 15:28

I bought the missha snail tester pouch this morning from the German site. I initially had the strange error but tried again and it worked out (am sure my bank balance wished otherwise though!) Grin

wickedfairy · 16/05/2015 15:31

I have some hyper pigmentation/sun damage. What would be the best product to lighten these areas? Thanks!

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 18:00

wickedfairy hope you'll like the kit! Here is an informative Reddit page on hyperpigmentation. And while searching info on Missha stuff I found this blog (not sure if it is somehow a paid endorsement but at least we are dealing with severe scarring here). This blog post on niacinamide shows a couple of products rich in it. Cerave PM is another option. I have a pump bottle and it is a nice neutral no-frills product but I am not using it much atm as I have so many other products that just feel nicer.

I've been breakout-free for several months, but still dealing with sun-related hyperpigmentation and PIH. All that sunscreen an niacinamide must be helping because the darker areas are definitely fading! I don't want to deal with retinoids atm. If you are patient, am going to talk about my first Asian sunscreen tomorrow (after I have worn it for a few full days)!

Samwhain I'm happy that your skin feels so nice! I also sometimes experience eye irritation, usually with highly fragranced stuff, and oddly also with a bland hyalurone sheet mask. I generally avoid getting product near my eyes, they are super sensitive for some reason. Lots of eye creams seem to sting too.

m0gz loving your budget finds! Acid pads made a difference for me, hope they work out for you too!

bigbuttons I think you have reached MN cult status as your thread is going meta Wink
Totally fascinated by your ferulic serum, you are our Dr Gross Grin

omg, making your own potions out of powder really is taking it to the next level. THanks!

bigbuttons · 16/05/2015 18:40

frugal ha ha ha. Love the way all she can remember is that I am 47!

Just goes to show that most of us really worry about our faces!
What does going meta mean? Blush

sakura honestly, it's easy and I am shit at chemistry.

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 18:57

Well, there is a thread about a thread, isn't that a meta-thread Wink
I don't remember your age, just the compliment...

I am a sad, sad middle-aged women because I am actually looking forward to my evening routine

bigbuttons · 16/05/2015 19:20

frugal I love my routines, so I totally get that. Today I did a 35% peel and then soaked a sheet mask in some HA gel and vit c serum. It was lovely and cooling.

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 19:28

Buttons I saw this video and thought of you - loving the cling film bit.

lucysmam · 16/05/2015 19:37

M0gz, I'll be back with a link shortly...just off to wash off a very busy day & get dd2 tucked up Smile

I want to check as well - sheet mask after moisturiser or before? bearing in mind I don't have a proper routine in place.

lucysmam · 16/05/2015 20:45

m0gz, I went for platinum ones - they're meant to brighten, detox and defend...I can only get the ones I bought to ask me if I want to buy again on ebay though Confused not sure if a link would take you straight into my ebay account Hmm

lucysmam · 16/05/2015 21:03

Back again, first chance I've had to properly read today. m0gz, what's pink spot?

I picked up a Coppertone suncream in the pound shop today...so that'll be three on the go when my Skin Food one gets here Grin Think I'll probably use the Superdrug one for the girls now tbh.

m0gz · 16/05/2015 21:15

etude house pink spot powder

Was there talk of patting earlier? I wonder if its how the patting method for applying bb creams came from? Anyway that's how I apply mine, came across it when looking into Korean bb creams years ago, and it makes a huge difference to the finished look. This is probably me pointing out the obvious but I used to slap and slather foundation on = not pretty!

MyMeMy · 16/05/2015 21:15

Wey hey - I've managed to register on the Missha Germany site!

Removing spaces from my postcode seemed to do the trick, thought I'd share just in case anyone else was suffering Grin

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 21:21

Lucysmam if this is your first sheet mask, I would just cleanse, then put the mask on for at least 20 minutes (I keep it on until it is starting to feel a bit dry) then do nothing further tonight. This would give you an idea how your skin takes it.

I've never realized I have cheekbones! With glowy skin, my bone structure looks totally different, all these new planes and angles, no highlighter needed

OP posts:
lucysmam · 16/05/2015 21:21

Thank you!

Elaborate on "patting" for me...google gave me a Hmm last night and threw up the blog posts I've already read when I asked for "korean skincare techniques" and then "how to apply korean cosmetics" (clearly I am just shit at Google 'cos you all manage to find interesting stuff).

FrugalFashionista · 16/05/2015 21:27

m0gz if you see a patting video somewhere, please do share, I'd love to learn!
I really like the Real Techniques stippling brush for BB cream, and now that I think of it, I do a tapping motion with it, and very little product goes a long way. Somehow my fingers are just a lot clumsier.

Me yay!
