Marmalady I get milia from creams that are too rich for my skin type, and also got them when I used oils to remove my eye makeup.

Marmaladybird · 02/05/2015 13:24

I've got myself some Avene Cleanance Gel for the mornings. Hopefully better than just water Blush

Fabulassie · 02/05/2015 13:29

I used to get millia under my eyes/on my cheekbones but when I started using a product with glycolic acid and exfoliating a couple of times a week with a Boots No 7 Clarisonic Wannabe they went away.

babyiwantabump · 02/05/2015 13:57

kundry you are amazing thank you!

Cetaphil in my Amazon basket - out of stock in boots wonder why

LRP on order too .
Is the cerave the moisturising cream? About £10 there seems to be loads of them!

Would it be best to get the salicyclic peel then? Or not do it at all because of the liquid gold? Or do it instead of liquid gold?

Would it be best to get the benefit concealer and give up on my dark circles? I think it's because I'm holding onto all fluid with the breast feeding! That and the lack of sleep!

Will hold off on the retinoids and retin a until I have stopped breastfeeding.

Thank you so much!

Itsalldramarama · 02/05/2015 14:10

Ordered retin a from the Geoffs pharmacy site last week but not had a confirmation email as yet ? Was wondering why date of birth was needed after Card details !? Am I being paraniod that I have been ripped off :0 !! Anyone else had a problem ? ( yes I'm probably beng over dramatic as usual )

ilovetosleep · 02/05/2015 14:33

I'm just wondering if someone can help with some irritation I have and recommend a product/something I can use to help recover! I posted a bit earlier but I think it got lost and here's a bit more detail now that I have more than 2 mins to type:

Started double cleansing about a fortnight ago, all fine, followed by existing No& serum and REN night cream.
Added Nip and Fab pads in the evenings about ten days ago, all fine.
Added REN clarimatte toner in the mornings about a week ago, all fine.
Added Redermic retinol serum every night about 5 nights ago, seemingly all fine, along with a new eye cream Botanics Triple Age Defence, which stings a bit but have carried on and no noticable reaction.
On Thursday I skipped the acid tone //Redermic/eye cream, and replaced with REN AHA concentrate treatment (intending to use every 3-4 nights) All seemed fine. On the same day I switched from Eve Lom balm cleanser to Superfacialist rose cream cleanser which I doubt would be the problem here.

Last night I went back to the previous regime and used Nip+Fab after cleansing, followed by Redermic, eye cream and normal night cream. My face was instantly stingy on my cheeks around my nose and under eyes, and a little bit tender this morning. Stupidly I cracked on with my normal routine:
Clarimatte toner, No7 serum, Botanics eye cream and REN day cream. Followed by make up as I'm out all afternoon. My face has been stinging all day and feels tight :( I have 2 (admittedly very small) red patches on my cheeks along the contour of my nose if that makes sense and nothing visible under my eyes but it really stings there.

Is it likely to be the AHA concentrate? Or a delayed reaction to the redermic? Or an overload of new things? Or maybe putting redermic on the night after the AHA treatement? What should I do next? I feel like I need to slap on a load of cooling gelly type moisture on my face! But I can't really afford to buy any more products right now. I was just beginning to enjoy the effects of all my new stuff and my skin seemed smoother and a bit brighter, now it feels tight and sore and dehydrated...

help!

bigbuttons · 02/05/2015 14:33

I have never had a problem with Geoff's pharmacy.

Thanks big buttons ;) sure it's fine ! Just me !

FrugalFashionista · 02/05/2015 14:48

Ilovetosleep overzealous cleansing can wreck the natural protective barrier in your skin. For me, LRP Cicaplast baume B5 and nappy cream and other zinc containing products have been enormously soothing when my skin has been raw.

Twitchcoco · 02/05/2015 15:12

I'm no expert but I dont understand why if we're acid toning daily we need specialist acid peels or AHA specialist treatments weekly as well.

Do it gently every day and that should be enough. I think we've all gone a bit bonkers on acids. Calm down quichers Grin

Kundry · 02/05/2015 15:17

When I was on 0.5% Retin-A and using the Paula's Choice 2%BHA I didn't think my weekly acid peel added much TBH. Currently with the Clinique Mild Lotion (not going to repurchase, too mild for my acne) and still working up to 0.25% retin a every day, the peel definitely does.

I think your comment twitchcoco is v wise though about calming down, changing loads of products at once or suddenly going all out on exfoliating is prob going to bring some of us, literally, out in a rash Grin

Thinking that when my retin a arrives I may be a tad scared to actually use it !! So might get a retinal as supposedly milder but effective ? Any recommendations ? Is 0.1 retinal equivalent of 0.025 retin -a ? Sure I've read it somewhere amongst everything !!! Had some lovely retinol/ vit c night cream by natysal from tk maxx but not in there now ! Any suggestions welcome thanks

VeryStressedMum · 02/05/2015 15:47

Ilovetosleep, I used paulas choice 1% retinol a few days ago and my face was fine at the time and the next morning but then it started to sting and I have 3 small dry red patches on my face. These patches are on places I had red marks on and it seems to be peeling hopefully to reveal non red marked skin underneath! I think it was the retinol treatment, I had used it a few days before the last time and also retin a cream a few days before that.
I'm not using any more retin/retinol until the patches are gone even though I really want to.
I'm actually a bit scared about perioral dermatitis! I'd never heard of it before but after reading about it on these threads and googling it I'm terrified I'll get it and that's what these patches are!

MrsGuyGarvey · 02/05/2015 16:06

Baa - I've bought some vitamin c powder and a dark bottle from Amazon, am too cheapskate to pay postage for the glycerin which I think is readily available.

I had one too many glasses of wine last night so slept with my make up on! Even though I'm suffering with a hangover today my face looks remarkably alive!

MrsGuyGarvey · 02/05/2015 16:07

Oh and Fabulassie, thank you for the Vit c link that made it feel achievable.

plumstone · 02/05/2015 16:18

For this looking for a lovely spritz toner, I have just bought the Vit E one from the body shop, then I cracked and bought Clinique dark spot fader serum, from a bloke wearing more foundation, powder and blusher than I have ever out on my face!, not sure that was more disturbing that or the fact he had not blended it around his jawline properly pet peeve! Also for those who can get there boots on the a kings road have just restocked cetaphil cleanser - due to large volume of sales this week!

CoconutAmericano · 02/05/2015 16:23

Gosh makes you wonder how many women are reading this thread?! Shock

Mrs guy .. Boots have bottles of VG less than £2 ( I buy it to make my own eliquid for ecigs !! ) haveto try mixing serums next ;)

bigbuttons · 02/05/2015 16:27

I bet boots are wondering what the hell is going on. I can just see the puzzled faces of the stocktake people. I wonder if it will be passed on to those higher up. "Unexplained country wide demand for cetaphil". Could be as mysterious as crop circles. Maybe we should ask for commission!

Can I join in? I read the other thread with great interest. Am trying to reboot my hormonal acne-ed, sensitive, dehydrated 32 year old skin.

New routine
AM
Cleanse LRP Physiologie Gel
Nip & Fab Glycolic Pads
Vichy Aqualia Serum
Avene Hydrance Moisturiser

PM
Double Cleanse with Vit E Hot Cloth and LRP Physiologie
Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Salyclic Pads
Alternate between Retirides 0.1% (Retin-A purchased in Spain) and Kiehls Midnight Recovery Oil.

Think I will get a Vit C serum when the Vichy runs out. Also not terribly happy with the moisturiser so might try the Cerave. Anything else I need to think about?

piggychops · 02/05/2015 17:25

I was really worried about using Clearasil pads up under my eyes as I thought my skin was really sensitive, but it's been fine. I'm quite surprised.

Hope this isn't deviating too much from main thread but how do I introduce DS to skincare? He's been using Simple foaming face wash but it's drying out his skin on his cheeks and he has pimples in his nose crease. Only very very early on in puberty and quite gender aware, so the idea of using "womens products" is a big no no.
I wondered if the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser for men, plus the moisturiser would do, and add on the Clearasil pads if the blackheads start???
