How to get different versions of the "natural look" - this is quite interesting

This is a great article about how different make-up counters interpret the "natural look"

I like being able to slide the various photos.

Interesting. For me the No 7 one was made less appealing by the rather cheap-looking sugary pink lipstick - but I may just be seeing my own prejudices as I wouldn't buy from No 7, which is probably irrational.

Marking place

I liked Bobbi Brown and Nars the best too. Can't believe how bad some of the foundations are.
I took dd around the make up counters a few months ago to choose a cover up for a skin blemish she's concerned about...and I was horrified by how badly they applied the make up on her, Estée Lauder were the worst, followed by Clinique, YSL not great; Benefit were the only counter who achieved a perfectly blended look no surprise we bought their product.
I think a lot must depend on the make up artist.

I like Urban Decay one best, especially the lips. It lets down her look in some of the other ones where they haven't done her lips well, and it's not too much for day at all - although maybe a bit much for 'natural' I suppose.

Also like the NARS, especially the foundation - I'm on the lookout for a new foundation, might give Sheer Glow a try.

V interesting!

This was a really enlightening link op, thanks! I have some features in common work the woman in the pics and found it interesting to see what the various counters did with that.

Some of those are really shocking especially the Benefit oneShock

The Mac one is ok but the eyebrows are too heavy imo.

The Urban Decay one is my favourite , really makes the most of her best features and looks like the MUA at least knew what she was doing.

I agreed with her on Urban Decay and Mac. I think what set the UD look apart was a little more intensity in the lip colour and using some eye liner. While it may not have been as "natural" it really gave her some polish. The result was something I would think of as professional/office appropriate.

Nars is lovely but I really like the UD lips.
