Whatever you like for Spring, high st or designer.

Lovely sunny day again. Just about to drag my arse out of bed to do circuits.

We blew a fortune on our honeymoon but we knew that we would never do that kind of holiday again as we wanted dc straight away. Our plan now is do to the same sort of thing once dc have left home and dh has retired.

I tried on a top by Yaya (a Dutch brand) yesterday but annoyingly they didn't have my size and apparently they can't order in anymore. I've spent hours searching online at other boutiques that stock yaya but can't find it to buy anywhere. Boo.

BrandyAlexander · 08/04/2015 09:29

Morning!

QueenC weren't you on a shopping ban? (gasp on this thread!!)

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 08/04/2015 09:34

novice why do (some) men do that?! DP is currently grumpy because he's not sure if he's 100% happy with his suit. I am biting my tongue to not comment on how he left it until a month ago to find a hire place, and go there with the groomsmen. And yes, aside from the honeymoon that was the only thing he had to do! I wish I had the luxury of being able to worry about the one thing I needed to organise Hmm

Of course I would never say this to him, but needed that rant!

I was going to ask my optician about the travel size packs, it's never been an issue before. Switching lenses is a good idea too - I wear monthly ones.

QueenCardigan · 08/04/2015 11:22

novice I'm not on a shopping ban. Dh is being ultra generous at the moment because of all the time he's training for his cycle ride so I,'m taking full advantage Grin. I just mainly need a couple more summer tops and a dress and shorts and possibly dome culottes.

Karbea · 08/04/2015 12:59

Did anyone find anything nice on the shopbop website? I'm thinking of getting another pair of white jeans obsessed
I really need to sort through my clothes and chuck out what I'm not going to wear, I've 3 black bags full of stuff that I've allocated for charity shops over the last 18months plus I still have too much stuff I just hate.
I need a list of what I need for summer or even just holidays...

Drywhiteplease · 08/04/2015 13:20

Another glorious day.....just back from having coffee with a friend outside a cafe, love it!
Am thinking its time for leg/feet prep for summer, but can't be bothered to paint toes just yet Grin

Ootd can someone tell me what the extra "o" is for in "outfit today"? :
Jimmies
R and B Quilty ballets in nude
zara cotton floral shirt over white Longsleeve t shirt
Stone biker
And.......Nancy is out Smile Sky blue Smythson, long story for people who weren't here 2 years ago

Topazandpearl · 08/04/2015 13:37

Outfit of the day Dry.

Hello Nancy (has it been two years Shock).

bettykt · 08/04/2015 13:42

Dry I take OOTD to mean outfit of the day but I may be wrong. Glorious weather here today and I too am wearing my R&B ballet flats but in black with black JCrew Dannie pants. I am breaking out of my black cycle and am sporting Shop's orange Pliage now that's progress for you. Grin.

Karbea · 08/04/2015 13:42

What's the website called where you create a board and can link things (mainly clothes or interior things) and create mood board type thingies ...

bettykt · 08/04/2015 13:43

Oops cross post re: OOTD.

BrandyAlexander · 08/04/2015 14:09

I am working at home! J crew matchsticks jeans and Michael Kors breton top today.

Dry I was on a mad thread last week about SamCam. Having said I thought Nancy is beautiful, a number of people specifically turned up to tell me how much they hated it. Very funny.Grin

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 08/04/2015 14:14

Karbea polyvore? I am being good and not actually browsing Shopbop, just sharing the code!

I'm wearing Hobbs navy culottes and a neon coral Paul & Joe Sister jumper, could have made more effort on the shoes which are just black pointy courts, I have a selection under my desk but those are easiest Blush

Had my nails done at lunch! I will post a pic from my phone in a sec...

Karbea · 08/04/2015 14:32

blair yes that's it!

I really feel like I should buy some things but being really indecisive, I don't want to do a panic buying session in Primark like I have the last few summers.

Karbea · 08/04/2015 14:40

Can anyone recommend some ballet pumps? I'm thinking about my airport/flight outfit. I'll probably wear leggings on the flight (which I need to get). I very nearly got the chanel classic pumps the other day when I got the rockstuds but got them instead. So something that'll fill that hole would be perfect!

santamarianovella · 08/04/2015 15:04

karbea why don't you just buy somthing you could wear now, like a jacket or sweater to wear with white jeans, and go from there, building it one by one,Bulk buying won't do you any good,

Bought few things from shopbop, a few cosabella underwear sets, and two current Elliot tees, Import duties were $00.0. Very happy!

Its finally jacket weather here and I hope it stays like that, wearing rick owens biker jacket, mother jeans and chanel tweed flats, fingers crossed I don't get hurt wearing them Wink or I will have to dispose of them.
I was with dd,at a spring fair here, loads of fun, but loads of people, winter wonderland on a saturday pales in comparison Shock, would have loved a quieter stroll in the park by the lake, but it was worth it, ate way too much though,

blair Im very excited for you! Try to relax and enjoy it. X

Dry nancy is a lovley bag,
I remember that thread novice, people were really harsh on Sam cam too, really nasty remarks, loved liberty post .

Fedupnagging · 08/04/2015 15:09

Ah, here you all are....

Have just popped in quickly to wish shop happy holidays but it looks like she's already gone.
And
A big fat good luck to Blair for Saturday Smile Wine Wine Wine. I guess you must be getting really excited and maybe a little bit nervous?

I am having a fab time here; apart from yesterday and first thing today, the weather has been gorgeous and linen dresses have been the order of the day. I also bought a cotton maxi sun dress from a market stall in Freemantle last week which has had lots of wear already. Don't think I'll be able to find a link though!

Hope you all have had a fab Easter and I will try to catch up with all your links when I get home.

Drywhiteplease · 08/04/2015 15:23

How Novice wish you'd told me about that thread, I'd have popped over Grin do you remember when ours met at my first MU ?
I actually like Sam Cam, love her style not her hair though . Have a friend who's metvher a few times and she's v tall and apparently always wears a belt celeb trivia of the day Smile

Karbea can highly recommend R and B ballet flats for quality and comfort, mine are like slippers, seriously wondering whether to buy them in black.

BrandyAlexander · 08/04/2015 15:40

Ooh Blair I would have to have my hands in gloves for the next 3 days! I am such a klutz that I did it the day before.Grin

QueenC I was confusing you with Lib!Blush I have barely seen my dh (out at 8 in at 1am including Easter weekend) for the last week. I sense he's feeling grateful I haven't made a fuss! He asked yesterday why I hadn't spent a lot on the credit cards. Bless.Wink

Santa the irony of the SamCam thread is that it was full of people who were abusing her for not dressing the way they do/would do with more money. There are 60m in this country. We don't all have to have the same taste,Hmm There's another going right now. I have avoided it as can't be bothered!

Karbea I agree with Santa don't go mad just build up slowly. I have this theory that a persons style changes every 3 years because circumstances and lifestyle change. It's always best to take your time.Smile

i wear ballet pumps for commuting so am a bit of an expert! have ballet pumps from Russell and Bromley. They're Chanel-esque quilted pumps are £40 if you go to the children's section (they do up to size 5) and £120 if you go to adults. Highly recommend them.

I also have Dune ones. They were lovely and comfortable though didn't last more than a few months.

Carvella studded black pumps looked great, less quality than Dune.

Blupoch pumps are lovely and would recommend. Ditto French sole.

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 08/04/2015 15:40

Hi fedup! So glad you're having a lovely time. Saw a pic of you on fb looking very relaxed :)

I am both excited and trying to relax! Still lots to do. Tonight I will put together the bridesmaids' goody bags and wrap a little something I got for my mum (this frame, which came in the most gorgeous box. A bit boring but I know she'll like it more than jewellery).

Karbea I always wear hush harems on flights, they come in a nice autumnal browny-grey. I never wear ballet pumps, sorry.

I can't post the nails pic, MN won't attach it to the post for some reason. Not exciting anyway, they are a peachy pale pink.

MN Vogue Vol. 57
BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 08/04/2015 15:41

Oh, it worked! haha. Sorry about the claw hand, it was either that or a gratuitous ring shot, as I'm right handed.

Stokey · 08/04/2015 16:01

Nothing wrong with a gratuitous ring shot Blair! Had a slight panic as the weather popped up with rain on Saturday this morning but it's back to sun and cloud, just a bit cooler, phew.

I'm in Uniqlo skinnies turned up, they're old and too big so will be retiring them after today, a blue Hush linen tee over white vest and Toms. They're not pretty but are super comfy. Loving the weather, we've been to the garden centre this morning and plan to plant later.

Love Mexico Karbea. We went there as our last solo holiday when I was pregnant with Dd1.

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 08/04/2015 16:29

Yes I saw that with the weather Stokey not checking hourly or anything Grin

QueenCardigan · 08/04/2015 16:35

Great nails blair
Hello fedup!

I don't get the sam cam hate. I think she looks fine. Women like her and kate Middleton are never going to win. Wear something conservative and they're branded boring/frumpy but they can hardly wear anything too outrageous. I'd rather their outfits than half the 'celebs' who have their tits and arses hanging out.
karbea ive got ballet flats from,Jones last year and I love them. V comfy. I've read on s&b that people rate banana republic ones. Don't do a huge bulk but at primark but I do love them for their cheap beach wear-kaftans, cover ups etc. I got a great dress from there for £4 which will be a cover up on the beach and plan to get a few more bits. I don't like spending much on stuff that'll get covered in sun cream and sand.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/04/2015 16:48

Hello all

Would love a gratuitous ring shot Blair. How exciting to hear all the build up to your big day. I like the sound of your outfit today.

Dry it took me ages to figure out what OOTD stood for. Are you definitely autumn colouring do you think then?

FedUp are you still on hol? Dressing in linen dresses daily sounds lovely.

I missed wishing Shop a good hol too.

I am thinking of wearing white jeans tmw Karbea - I am worried about the dirt element though.

Betty I was just looking at the J Crew Dannie pants - are they v skinny fitting? Also looked at Minnie, I want some black cigarette trousers but may save that for AW.

QueenC did I read correctly that you were thinking of some culottes? Any thoughts on colour etc? I could see you in knee length verging on shorts rather than mid length more skirt like ones.

Lib a six month ban sounds interesting. I would like to hear how you get on if you do it. I have been quite inspired by the unfancy blog, will definitely do a summer capsule wardrobe.

My OOTD is hush harems (agree with Blair would be good for travelling, they are v comfy), black l/s t-shirt and burgundy pointy flats.

BrandyAlexander · 08/04/2015 16:55

Lovely nails!

I am with you QueenC. SamCam's style is definitely not my style. she likes the boho thing which isn't me and she's tall and willowy so dresses for that shape. given I am petite hourglass and a classic dresser I can't imagine one item that she has that would suit me. That doesn't mean they don't suit her. It would be like Marsha and i criticising each others outfits!Confused
