If you are tall and fashionable what do you wear on your feet

I'm 5' 8" tall and don’t like to wear high heels because I don’t want to be even taller. If you are the same – what do you wear on your feet (heels wise) that is fashionable? I struggle to find fashionable-ish winter work smart shoes. Any input gratefully received

I am 5ft 10 and spent years in flats and tiny heels, outfits never seemed to look quite right though.

A few years ago I decided to embrace my height and wear heels, more a mid heel than a really high one, I feel so much better and more confident now, rather than trying to make myself look small.

Oh and I wear a lot of shoe boots, very versatile.

Agree with patatas. I am 5'11 and also used to worry about looking too tall - but then I realised for most people I am 'too tall' anyway so what difference does a few more inches make?

Wear the heels, girl. I'm 5'8" too, and I've never thought that I'm too tall, even in my highest heels.

When I want to wear something more practical, I have biker boots which I wear with skinny jeans. For work, my practical/smart solution for winter is knee length riding boots over skinny trousers with a jacket.

Same here - I'm 5'9" and usually wear heels of around 2". I feel much better wearing them than wearing flats. That said, I would go any higher than around 2.5" as I would feel too tall then. I tend to wear wedges or chunkier heels too, not stilleto types as I think they can look a bit strange on me.

I'm just on 6ft & same as Patatas. I used to be so conscious of being tall & wore flats, low heels that didn't look quite right with some outfits.

I'm 5'9" and would say be tall and proud!. I love a heel - I don't wear super high but think most outfits look best with a heel. I wear both chunky heeled boots and court shoes.

For flats I like pretty ballerinas best, as they look cute with skinny jeans. I'm looking to get a pair of brogues for spring as an alternative. Eg:-

I love these and think they'd look cute with rolled up jeans or a pretty floral dress.

I also have long flat heeled biker style boots and a pair of riding style boots for winter flats.

Also 5'8" and would never consider myself too tall - 5'10" would be my ideal height!

Sometimes I wear heals & sometimes flats but worrying about being too tall has seriously never entered my head

I'm 5'11" and wear heels every damn work day. Get those heels on. Flats are for frumpy weekends

I'm 6'1 and have just re-embraced the heels after bunion op - wear the heels and don't worry about the little people! ????

6ft and wear heels now, used to worry about height but happy with it now - mid heels normally.

5'10 and wear 2 or 3inch heels every day :-) Never kitten heels (they look stupid). Stiletos, wedges, chunky heels, everything goes. Ignore the little people

I am 5'8" and used to wear 4-5in heels. I never cared what people thought and walked tall. Someone once said to me that I was wearing them on purpose to be intimidating.

The only reason I stopped was because I had an injury and had to rever to flat boots and shoes for a while. I'm currently training myself to wear heels again.

If you want to wear heels but not skyscraper ones, Mint Velvet have some nice three inch heels which are comfortable and pretty.

I'm 5ft 11 and wear mostly flat ballet pumps or Converse as I work from home, run around a lot after DCs and this type of footwear suits my lifestyle. I can't walk well in high, thin heels but do love a mid-height wedge or a chunky boot (think Frye). I'm not really bothered about being taller than most people, I am anyway, so what's another few inches? However when I was in my late teens/20s, I hated the stupid comments from blokes in bars and was really self-conscious about being tall. Now, I embrace it!

I'm six feet tall and at 55 have started wearing heels again after ditching h who hated me wearing them. He was two inches shorter.
I feel great in them.

I think that I was put off wearing heels when i was younger due to comments about my height.
Why people feel the need to tell you that I'm 'big' / 'massive' when in fact what I am is 'Tall', perplexes me.

I am far more comfortable in my own skin now & I am happy being tall It has taken 42 years!! I don't own heels higher than 4" but that's because I can't walk well in them!

Am 6ft, and love wearing heels on nights out, sometimes to work too. I love being tall. Sometimes i crouch down to see what it would be like to be small, and i don't like it
Weekends, am normally in Converse (like just now), and have nice Flat Knee High Boots for Winter. Summer it'll be Flip Flops or Ballet Pumps or something. But will never give up my heels, and my DP is only 5ft 8

Re the stupid comments from men in bars about your height when you're tall: all of my female friends are tall, and when this happened we loved to break into a chorus of, "we welcome you to munchkin land" from the Wizard of Oz.

I'm 5ft 9 and I rarely wear heels - mostly because I find them extremely uncomfortable and they look very silly when you can't walk properly. I wear flats, I love flats and I'm glad that I'm tall enough not to feel I need heels.
