Are these Clarks sandals nice or hideous?

Please help, I can't decide - are these nice for summer, or hideous and awful? I know DH will hate them, but if they're comfortable (which I think they will be - I've had wide-fit Clarks wedges before Blush and worn them to death) and they are not too old-lady, I might get them. For context, I am 35 and not very trendy (but would like to be...) I would probably wear them with skinny dark jeans and stripy tops, which appears to be my 'uniform'.

I have last years like euphemia (in yellow and 2pairs of black, one worn one bought in sale for this year). Those look much higher and I don't like the sole. If you like them, get them but check they are comfortable-they don't look it.

I will go and look in the shop and try them on I think. I usually order online and return anything I don't want, but I'm a bit sick of packing up returns and traipsing to the drop-off point so I will go and see them in the flesh first. Re: the height they are about the same as the wedges I already have from Clarks - I still have my flat Saltwaters so I wouldn't be wearing them every day, but it's a wearable height for me with nice wide straps. I wouldn't wear something strappy with a stilleto heel of that height, but a wedge with a wide strap is ok for me generally.

i like them!

BallroomWithNoBalls · 08/03/2015 18:49

They're not great tbh but they look comfy - you could definitely find more stylish version in Dune or Topshop though.

passthewineplz · 08/03/2015 19:21

I'm not keen sorry, however they do look a bit better in navy rather than white. These might be nice on www.clarks.co.uk/p/26107365

Suttonmum1 · 08/03/2015 19:23

OP I have wide feet and usually stick to flats but have had great success with various Gabor wedge sandals. Lots of different ones available I think. Often stocked in John Lewis.

I think the navy are frumpier Confused - also, everything I own (more or less) is navy so I'm ideally looking for white or tan. Will check out Gabor, I know my DMum (who is 76) loves a Gabor sandal but they did have some very nice knee hhigh boots last winter so maybe I'm now in the Gabor age bracket!!

I'd go for clogs instead

FluffyTheEvilOne · 08/03/2015 19:30

I love them, and have some that are very similar.

I'm around your age, too.

Having said that, I think they are overpriced, and would be too high for me!

clippityclop · 08/03/2015 22:31

Too high for everyday wear for me, yet the big buckles and thick soles look too clunky for special occasions so a no from me.

CointreauVersial · 08/03/2015 22:39

Love them in navy! I looked everywhere for nice navy wedges last year, and eventually gave up. Will wait for a 20% deal, though.

TheHoundsBitch · 08/03/2015 22:41

Ew. Nanna shoes, they look like the foot in them would have pork scratching toenails. And cankles. Sorry Blush

DialsMavis · 08/03/2015 22:43

I like them a lot, I think they would look great with skinny jeans or summer dresses

stillwearingaredribbon · 08/03/2015 22:45

I love them

DrElizabethPlimpton · 08/03/2015 22:47

I don't like them at all
What about these?

margaritasbythesea · 08/03/2015 23:17

I dislike the last two linked a lot, sorry.

TheCraicDealer · 08/03/2015 23:27

I'm 26 and love them- white jeans rolled up to the ankle, red nail polish, navy breton top, big ass sunglasses and a tan handbag. Doitdoitdoitdoit!

FaktiskErJegIkkeEnNerd · 08/03/2015 23:31

They r nice but i couldnt walk in them!

clairecasta · 08/03/2015 23:33

I'm 28. I like them (although not the price!) and think you would look stylish.

clairecasta · 08/03/2015 23:34

Also, the two latest ones linked (blue clarks & dune shoes) I really dislike. Sorry!

emsyj · 08/03/2015 23:35

I am really surprised at how many people think they're really high! The old pair I've already got are the same and they are honestly really comfortable - and I'm not a big heel wearer generally.

I love that look TheCraicDealer - exactly what I'm aiming for!! Grin

Awful. Just awful.

Seriously, do not buy those. It would only encourage Clarks to make more of them.

emmelinelucas · 08/03/2015 23:51

I like them, but they are expensive. They would rub my toes, so not for me.
