So what do we make of this year's selection? www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2958930/Giuliana-Rancic-Kelly-Osbourne-kick-red-carpet-Academy-Awards-dramatic-looks.html ?

I really like Jamie King and Rosamund Pike. I'm not a big fan of Lady Gaga's and was disappointed in Juilianne Moore's dress as she usually looks great.

I actually think that Nicole Kidman looked better than she has done in an age. Her hair looks great, good to see her get rid of the blonde extensions, and her face doesn't look quite so plasticky as it has done in recent years.

I didn't see any facial close-ups of Nicole, but I agree it's nice to see her hair back to red. I found the dress rather lizardy though.

squoosh · 23/02/2015 14:31

Oh the dress was awful. It reminded me of 1980's Barbie.

I thought there were more miss than hits this year.

Loved Dakota J, Cate B, Emma Stone and anna Kendrick. Margot Robbie looked sensational. Others were very blahhhh.

Lovewearingjeans · 23/02/2015 15:17

I thought generally very relaxed hair this year.
I preferred Reese Witherspoon at the Baftas, along with Julianne Moore. Hated JLo's lipstick.
Loved Emma Stone too.

MrsFionaCharming · 23/02/2015 15:33

I always find these events disappointing. They have all the money and stylists you can get, but you get better looking dresses at a University ball! I think a lot of them focus so hard on trying to stand out and look different, they forget to try and look nice.

Flambola · 23/02/2015 17:07

Rosamund Pike looked amazing. Everyone else was a bit 'meh'. Lady Gaga looked hideous.

Flambola · 23/02/2015 17:08

I liked Julianne Moore's makeup.

squoosh · 23/02/2015 17:11

I wish Jennifer Lopez would move away from those boob displaying dresses she's fond of. She's been wearing those since she was going out with P Diddy back in 1875.

BOFster · 23/02/2015 17:28

God yes- do you remember that green jungle print slashed-to-the-waist number that Geri Halliwell nicked and instantly made even grimmer?

squoosh · 23/02/2015 17:53

Oh yes, so grim on Geri. All boobs and gusset and annoyingness. It's so bad my computer won't even allow me to post a picture.

trufflesnout · 23/02/2015 18:09

Dakota Johnson looked amazing, and I liked Keira's dress too. I thought Sophie Hunter's was god-awful and I'm a bit surprised she wore it because it's so different from her usual choice of dress/style.

America Ferrera always looks absolutely gorgeous, Cate Blanchett is Cate Blanchett and therefore always amazing, and Suki Waterhouse looked stunning (and is also my girlcrush).

Favourite dress was probably Keira's or Suki's.

TrinityForce · 23/02/2015 18:28

Favourite by far is Emma Stone. I think it's her happy confident look that makes it look even more fantastic.

Was quite surprised with Anna Wintours daughter, she was one of the few to wear a bold print but looked lovely.

Jared Leto is a close 2nd to Emma Stone Grin

TrinityForce · 23/02/2015 18:29

Selena Gomez looked great in her black dress too, she could give Rita a few tips.

Twinklestein · 23/02/2015 18:39

Didn't really like any of them much apart from Anna Faris.

I liked Scarlett's dress but not the necklace.

Hated Emma Stone's lime cordial thing.

Liked the skirt of Keira's dress but not the bodice.

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 23/02/2015 18:54

Loved Dakato J. Really liked Beyoncé, very simple and classy. Loved Kelly Preston too, and though that was lovely couples shot of her and John Travolta. I actually liked Marion C, a bit quirky, and she looked really beautiful, her hair and makeup were perfect.

Didn't like Rosamund Pilke, Scarlette J. And J-lo was too much. Also thought many of the skinny ladies with plunging necklines would have benefited from a good bra!
And I didn't like the outfits with all those sheer panels, Rita Ora, Heidi Klum, etc.

OttiliaVonBCup · 23/02/2015 18:56

Rita Ora
WTF?

DahliaBloom · 24/02/2015 08:59

Clear winner for me was Marion Cotillard; beautiful, understated but also a bit mad. She's always super stylish, I love her.

Liked Emma Stone too. Usually love Cate Blanchett but thought her dress a bit boring and hated the turquoise necklace. Her hair and makeup was unflattering too, I thought, when usually she looks so radiant.
