Going to Lake Garda and will be doing a lot of walking round the lake in the evenings. Are these horrible?

Have a browse here www.shopstyle.co.uk/browse?fts=tan+sandals
Sorry I think those are a little frumpy

NormHonal · 04/02/2015 18:59

What you need are some Saltwater sandals. Very comfy.

Behooven · 04/02/2015 19:20

Thanks both, I'll have a browse now Smile

I've just bought these sandals.
They look better on and are really comfortable. I got them for wlking the streets of New York!

Brookville · 04/02/2015 20:22

I think it's hard to wear walking footwear with 'normal' clothes without looking frumpy. In other words, walking sandals with walking shorts is ok. But then you want to look nice on hols and not have bad feet. Have you looked at Birkenstock? Not for everyone but they were quite in last summer.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/02/2015 20:50

I have these from moshulu in tan.

Really comfy and not too fugly.

Bananasandchocolatecustard · 05/02/2015 10:31

I have those sandals and they are very comfy, did not need "breaking in".

Behooven · 05/02/2015 16:16

I'm going to order a pair of Birkenstocks (to see if I can keep then on) and the Moshulus.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'm a fan of Merrell sandals - they are walking sandals but I wear them on holiday too - like these?

agoodbook · 05/02/2015 16:25

ooh- maybe too frumpy now I have seen the Moshulu !

specialsubject · 05/02/2015 16:33

sandals look fairly rough however you slice it, I'm afraid. Comfort is important but the fashion ones won't last.

Garda is mosquito central in the evenings. Get some closed-in shoes to save your feet.

Behooven · 05/02/2015 17:30

agood I do have Merrels for during the day, agree they're super comfy.
Re the mozzies, special I will be drenched in deet!

Behooven - I've got to the age where comfort far exceeds vanity :)

iwantgin · 05/02/2015 20:59

I like the marks spencers sandals. I have similar and wear them a lot in summer.

Gopd price and colour choices

cerealqueen · 05/02/2015 22:26

The M&S ones in the cornflower, red and yellow are nice, not so the darker colours.
clarks so bound to be comfy

bishboschone · 07/02/2015 15:58

www.schuh.co.uk/womens/schuh-vacation-tan-sandals/1732216220/..... I bought these last year , they are very comfy on my difficult feet .

Hobbes8 · 07/02/2015 16:03

Another vote for saltwater ones. You can wear them in the sea/lake as well. I have the bright yellow ones.

NellysKnickers · 07/02/2015 16:14

I've hot the pewter ones. So comfortable. Although I have come across an elderly lady I'm the navy Hmm As long as your toenails are painted nicely (I favour bright red, grey or black) they will look lovely. Your feet will thank you.

madwomanacrosstheroad · 07/02/2015 16:37

Birkenstock?

iwantgin · 08/02/2015 17:19

Birkenstocks are really comfy, but not for a ton of walking. I find that a proper sandal with ankle straps are better.

My last pair were from Pavers a bit like these, but with a less gaudy trim. sandals

polyhymnia · 08/02/2015 20:59

Presumably you've got plenty of time to think about this and try different makes as you can't be going for some months if you're going to be wearing sandals!

ChablisLover · 08/02/2015 23:08

Seasalt sandals from toast

I love them and live in these during the summer

ChablisLover · 08/02/2015 23:09

Whoops -- meant saltwater sandals

Sorry

fusspot66 · 08/02/2015 23:19
