Going to Lake Garda and will be doing a lot of walking round the lake in the evenings. Are these horrible?

Thought I'd come back and update. I tried a lot of your suggestions, thanks.

I already have flat comfy sandals for daytime, so I bought these leather Rieker sandals with a bit if a heel for night.
They are very very comfortable, I wore them all day on Saturday with bare feet shopping in town and it's like walking on puffy clouds.

Birkenstocks are GRIM & there isn't cushioning in the soles = misery imo.

What about Clarks sandals - either way your need cushioning in the soles.

these are the most comfortable sandals ever and I think they look good in a retro sort of way. The wedge is low but cushions the heel and the strap means that your foot is really well supported. I have walked miles in mine and find them much better than Birkenstocks.
