eyebrow shaping

How do you do it? Or if you get it done somewhere - where? I've never done it, as I've always had very blonde fine eyebrows, so jsut use pencils but as I've got older they seem to be darkening and getting slightly thick, and I long for nicely shaped brows!

I get mine waxed whenever I get the chance. It's gives a really nicely shaped look.

carol3 · 20/10/2006 07:10

I had never had mine done but had them done recently on a girly weekend to birmingham had them 'threaded' in selfridges. Hurt a bit but it was over in 2 mins.

CastsSpellsWitchySpells · 20/10/2006 08:07

Get mine waxed every 4 weeks at Saks. If I didn't I'd have one thick eyebrow instead of 2 .

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 08:09

i get mine waxed also. it usually only costs a fiver or so

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 08:09

does a average hairdresser shape them for you to suit you or you tell them what you want? as when i went the lady just tidied it up

sorry for the hjjack!

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 08:11

your hairdresser tidied up your eyebrows?????????????????????????

if you want them waxed just go to a beauty therapist and ask for an eyebrow wax. they will shape to suit your eyes and face

CastsSpellsWitchySpells · 20/10/2006 08:18

The same therapist has been doing mine for about 7 years. She cuts them as well as waxing and plucking - hard to find ones who are used to doing that.

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 09:26

Right thats my job to do to find a beauty therapist to sort out my eyebrows ready for my bday

What doi look under in the yell.com? beauty therapist???

KellyKrueger1978 · 20/10/2006 14:08

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 14:28

bumpo!

incy · 20/10/2006 14:32

I have mine threaded which is excellent - you can have it done in Harrods or if you have an asian community locally (like me) it is often offered in local beauty salons. Much better shape than waxing IMO

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 14:37

well im tempting to have a go on threading too as less painfull than waxing...but ill have a look in the yellow pages

FIMBOnABroomstick · 20/10/2006 14:38

I have just had mine waxed this morning. It cost £6.

To answer the question - yes look for a beauty therapist or salon.

KellyKrueger1978 · 20/10/2006 14:44

hmm, I've foudn a beauty salon nearby in the hilton hotel. £8 for shaping which seems reasonable. They also do tinting. Any idea how long tinting lasts?

OP posts:
nailpolish · 20/10/2006 14:44

my mum tints her lashes, it lasts a few weeks

MrsDoolittle · 20/10/2006 14:47

I get my eyebrows waxed and eyelash and eyebrow tint, lasts about 6 weeks on me. But if I didn't, you wouldn't see them

incy · 20/10/2006 14:48

Tinting last up to 6 weeks - i have my eyelashes tinted and have them refreshed once a month

LazyLou · 20/10/2006 15:02

I have mine waxed every 3 weeks because they grow so quickly and join in the middle, looking like a giant caterpillar

Cappuccino · 20/10/2006 15:04

don't you - you know - just get them shaped and then do it yourself on a morning with tweezers?

all this intervention seems a bit much; I barely get time to go to the loo on my own let alone go to the beautician every three weeks

KellyKrueger1978 · 20/10/2006 15:09

that's my plan cuppacino. I jsut don't know where to start at the moment, so want the initial shape then hopefully keep it up myself. Though I am tempted by tinting as they are still blonde.

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 15:12

you can tint them yourself

i do my mums for her, she buys a kit in Boots

lilibet · 20/10/2006 15:24

Try your local college, if they have a beauty bit they will do allsorts of treatments at a fraction of the cost. Dd is at one at the moment, they do some treatments for free as well

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 15:38

ive booked at the beauty shop for eyebrow waxing at 12.15pm tmrw!!! ive never been there before but its a professional look shop - they better be good!
