eyebrow shaping

How do you do it? Or if you get it done somewhere - where? I've never done it, as I've always had very blonde fine eyebrows, so jsut use pencils but as I've got older they seem to be darkening and getting slightly thick, and I long for nicely shaped brows!

I get mine waxed at Bracknell Leisure Centre... ive been most plces around, and they are the best. Get them done about every 6 weeks, depending.

oooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

NotSoUseless · 21/10/2006 14:15

I wax them too, normally.
pluck when I've forgotten all about them and can't see anymore.

if you pluck and do not want it to hurt, apply some olive oil on it with a cotton ball and wait a minute. it work wonders. It might be a well know things but I've invented it and so prouud of it.

KellyKrueger1978 · 22/10/2006 18:08

yow lipsbite, not sure whether to go now! Are you pleased with it though?

KellyKrueger: a beauty therapist will usually put some balm on first, which makes it less painful. Plus if your eyebrows are reasonably fine anyway it really doesn't hurt.

I always do mine after a bath - pain-free.

lipsbite · 22/10/2006 19:34

kelly - its a quick pain and it looks fab now! dont let me put u off as go for it adn you will be pleased

Blondilocks · 22/10/2006 19:39

Do you have to tell them what you want them to look like or do they just tidy them up for you?

lipsbite · 22/10/2006 19:59

you will either tell them how u want it OR they do it to suit your face.

foxinsocks · 22/10/2006 20:01

do you really do it yourself whooooooo?

I only ever tried once and it was so painful, it brought tears to my eyes (wuss alert!)

Blondilocks · 22/10/2006 22:25

I pluck my own - I don't think it hurts. Always made ex-OH cringe when he saw me do it though.

I'd worry that they'd look silly if someone else does it? But they look a bit wonky when I do it... can't win!

merlotmama · 23/10/2006 00:17

Don't want to hijack, but has anyone ever had their eyebrows tattooed?

Mine seem to be fading with age and I don't want to draw them in with pencil for fear of looking like Cruella de Vil(sp)/Ville?

Does tattooing fade over time or is it permanent?

merlotmama · 23/10/2006 22:57

bump

.......anybody?

TinyGang · 23/10/2006 23:00

Have you thought of tinting them? I do mine because they are so pale naturally.

Greensleeves · 23/10/2006 23:03

I pluck my own now, I wish I'd never bothered, they were fine before, but now because I plucked them once, they grow back all uneven and horrible, so I am locked into plucking them for ever more

QuootieSpookypie · 23/10/2006 23:11

greensleeves - leave them a few months, then get proffessionally (SP??) waxed - I did the same

lipsbite · 24/10/2006 19:46

KellyKrueger1978 - well??? have u had it done???
