Please help dress me for a wedding!

Our very good friends are getting married Easter weekend. DH is best man so his outfit is sorted, kilt and tweed jacket. I literally have NO IDEA what to wear Sad. Haven't been to a wedding in years and don't ever get a chance to go out of an evening so just don't get dressed up.
I will also be running round after a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old so high heels and anything uncomfortable is out. I'm a bit hippyish and not very stylish, fashionable or cool and tend to feel really self conscious in revealing stuff. It's also a country wedding and could be quite cold.
So am I a lost cause or does anyone have any ideas, even of what styles I should look at? I think I'd like to wear a dress. I'm a size 8, pear shaped with non existent boobs, and I have very short hair just in case that makes a difference (no idea what to do with that either hate it at the moment but not going to be able to grow it much by then.)

You'll certainly need a dress, I suggest something skater dress shape, with a wide skirt to skim over the bottom half. If you're more if a hippy type then there are lots of floral prints around. If it's a country wedding then I guess it won't be terribly formal, so that'll make it easier

Lindybop is very inexpensive and they have some really pretty floral 50s style dresses which are perfect for the pear shaped person. You can buy net petticoats from them too which make the skirt stock out as shown and makes them a bit more special. Get a cardigan in a pretty complimentary colour in case it's cold and maybe a flower clip for your hair for extra fanciness. Mid height heels with rounded toes are comfy and perfect for the 50s style.

Eek sorry forgot vital info! Am 5'4" paleish with dark hair. Budget up to £100.
Thanks all for input so far, just not feeling the love for anything I've looked at yet. I think I,m fed up of feeling / looking frumpy being practical country mum of two young children and want to feel nice. Not keen on trousers I have to admit, have quite short legs.
Wedding is big and full on but will be a chilled out vibe. Most people round here tweedy country folk tbh. Last wedding I went to was a few years ago and I wore a halter maxi dress and gladiator sandals with chunky turquoise jewelry, that's my sort of thing but will be too cold and maxi dresses and running after small children don't go Confused
Will have another look at the skater dresses on that website, but I'm not sure they are 'me'.
Never thought I was this difficult....sorry! And thanks!

Oh the couple getting married are quite cool and absolutely gorgeous by the way, I've helped out a lot with the preparations their wedding is going to be stunning as will they be, I know nobody will be looking at me I just want to feel attractive! Sorry for rambling!

Can you carry off bright colours with your dark hair? I am mousey but friends of mine with dark hair and pale skin look great in red or emerald green. What about a plain dress which you can then accessorise with chunky statement jewellery?

I love that second navy reiss dress (I also have a strange feish for navy right now). Very sophisticated but easy to wear and ideal for pear shapes (vainly tries to come up with justification to purchase dress herself)

This is the kind of thing I will be wearing 8 weeks post partum to a wedding we're going to in August..not sure it would be dressy enough for you? You could swap the dark silk top for a nude/pink.

LoOVE the navy reiss dress but not sure I'm elegant enough to pull it off and it's at the higher end of my budget....need to get some shoes as well.
Loved the recommendation for the yumi dresses at HofF (sorry can't name check on bloody ipad) there were loads I loved on there!
What's the opinion on these?

Hi highlandbird, I love love love the first one! Definitely not frumpy, nice heels, bit of costume jewellery and you are good to go to a wedding!
