Can you recommend me an eye makeup remover?

I'd like something that really does remove all my heavy eyeliner and mascara without being horribly oily. I have been using a sample of Clinique's and it's nice in that it isn't an oil slick, but if there's one that removes makeup even more efficiently, I'd like to hear about it. As it is, I can use micellar water, the remover, more micellar water, wash my face with Take Off The Day Balm, and then double-cleans with a non-foaming liquid cleanser and STILL have traces of eye makeup.

Oh, and it has to be something sold in Boots!

I'd be grateful for any suggestions. :)

Rimmel eye make up remover is a good one. As far as I know boots sell it.

I've tried loads, because the eye liner I use (Boots no 7) can be a bugger to shift.

The best results have come from Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser (buy a load of cheap flannels to use with it). I believe you can buy it in some Boots. You can use it on eye make-up too.

Simple used to be good, but I have sensitive eyes and the current version stings my eyes.

I swear by Simple. I get the occasional stinging reaction to mascara (some more than others) so would guess my eyes are sensitive too, yet Simple have never made my eyes sting.

Having run out of my usual, in a slightly tipsy moment I chose my toddler's no more tears shampoo to take my make up off, including eye make up - a tiny drop on a wet cotton ball and it got every trace off - gentle on skin and didn't sting my eyes. Definitely find that cheap in Boots!

Well, I went on Boots.com and noticed that one of the Garnier removers was very highly rated. So, I thought I'd look for that one. And saw that they were having a 3 for £5 offer on Garnier cleansing. And they have three different eye makeup removers, each about £3.50. Bought one of each! The one that is highly rated is called something like Simply Something or Other... and I have tried it and I liked it as well as the Clinique one (which is £11!). Not sure about the other two, yet, but it's nice to have them as backup.

The ONLY one IMO is the Olay one- it's a cream and not oily at all. Cheap too.

Simple for me too. I've sensitive eyes and also can't use anything to oily or greasy.

Lancome Bi-Facils is amazing. One of the only expensive beauty products I use. This limited edition supersize is great value! They only do it at Christmas time.

I always bought Lancôme Bi-Facils until I had to buy some remover quickly at Waterloo station. I rushed into Boots and bought some 'Botanics soothing eyemakeup remover' and it's amazing. Gets off my waterproof mascara no problem. Never spending £20 on eye makeup remover again.

Either loreal or garnier make a micellar gel eye makeup remover. It's brilliant. None oily, and gets everything off. I've tried many over the years but am sticking with this. Only about £3.99 in super drug.

Have a look at yesterday's post on mortgage free in three, Elaine posted a 'recipe' for eye make up remover made with water, baby shampoo and baby oil. I tried it and it's brilliant. I usually use whatever cleanser I've got on the go, but I was very impressed with this homemade one, it's very gentle and took everything off easily.

If you like bi-facils don't bother paying Lancôme prices. Lancôme is owned by l'oreal and the l'oreal gentle eye and lip makeup remover is basically identical.

Gatineau 'Floracil' - gentle, non-oily and effective. It makes a lovely eye mask, too. I get it from QVC when it's a special price or on easy-pay.

Another vote for Garnier Micellar Water. Cheap, effective and so mild, you can pretty much squirt it straight into your own eyes and it doesn't sting

I already use the Micellar water from Garnier. I use it after the eye makeup remover to take off all my makeup and then I cleans.

I've now finished the sample of Clinique Take Off The Day eye makeup remover and will be starting one of the three Garnier removers that I've bought. I'd love to find one better than any I've ever tried but if these work as well as the Clinique did and don't irritate my eyes I will be content with that.

I also use coconut oil. For my whole face.

Smudge it all over my face, rub to make sure makeup shifts, go over with cotton wool pads and then wash with a hot flannel. Works a treat. I find proper makeup removers are too harsh for my skin.

I then cleanse the next morning in the shower, so I'm not too worried about the oil affecting my skin.

(Though my friend does have oilier skin than me and she said coconut oil made her break out in spots; everyone is different I guess.)

Another vote for the Garnier Micellar Water. I have sensitive skin and it works wonders on removing my eye makeup. I have the eye make up remover from Garnier as well but just not used it yet. Hope you find something that works Smile

The olay one that tethers said. Bought it after seeing recommendation on here, wouldn't be without it now
