I have £80 to spend in M&S

I was given some clothes and a handbag for Christmas but the clothes didn't fit and the handbag was ghastly not to my taste so I had to return them. I had no idea they would total £80 Shock but that's what I now have as a credit note. Other than knickers and the odd bag of Percy Pigs I can't think of anything that I have bought from there.

What do you think is worth buying in M&S?

FYI: I am 29 years old.

Food!

I would struggle to buy clothes as well - some of the kids stuff is sometimes ok if you have DC.

thenightsky · 05/01/2015 22:31

Prosecco - but wait till they have an offer on like buy a case get so much off

daimbardiva · 05/01/2015 22:32

Their 5 pocket jeggings are my wardrobe staple - they are skinny jeans, not jeggings abd only 22 quid

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 05/01/2015 22:46

Yep 5 pocket jeggings. Best skinnies ever. Only in the denim though, the coloured ones are thinner material and not as good. The denim ones are my HG skinny.

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 05/01/2015 22:47

Oh and Rosie for M and S undies and jammies.

BotoxBitch · 05/01/2015 22:52

In this same position! Heard the stay new leggings are good so that's a £10 gone...

hoedown · 05/01/2015 23:17

Their high-waisted skinnies in black or indigo are great.

Spinaroo · 05/01/2015 23:20

I would buy their food- pricy but lush! Or Jammies

atticusclaw · 05/01/2015 23:23

5 pocket jeggings and rosie nightwear/lingerie.

polyhymnia · 05/01/2015 23:27

Autograph tights.

perfume. they have some really nice ones after the beauty hall refits

LoveVintage · 05/01/2015 23:47

Jammies. And booze.

Actually I would spend the whole lot on Deltas had they NOT STOPPED MAKING THEM

CointreauVersial · 05/01/2015 23:48

Undies
PJs
Handbags
Clothes for the office
Perfume and beauty stuff (bigger branches)

XBoxTesting · 05/01/2015 23:53

Can be good for basic leather shoes - depends on whether you're a good fit for their sizes.

I have a great handbag from them, and a nice watch (I lose / break watches at such an alarming rate that I can't spend serious money on them).

Rosie undies are nice as long as you you fit yourself and don't let any of their fitters near you with the Tape Measure of Discomfort.

XBoxTesting · 05/01/2015 23:55

And I quite like the puffa jacket things they have in at the moment.

radiobedhead · 06/01/2015 00:20

I saw a parka in there today that looked nice. Water proof, looked decent quality.

RojaGato · 06/01/2015 01:22

Stila make up and chinese chicken wings.

goodasitgets · 06/01/2015 09:49

They have some strappy cami/vests that have stay new or something. Anyway, they're cheap, a good length, wash well. I bought a few to wear under tops etc

StrawberryCheese · 06/01/2015 10:53

Thanks so much for all the replies!

pensionerpeep I agree, you can't go wrong with 45 bags of Percy Pigs Grin think my dentist would have something to say though.

Well I need a new pair of black skinny jeans so I shall take a look at their jeggings etc. and the strappy vests will come in handy too. I would never set foot near the Tape Measure of Discomfort but I'm a 28in back so M&S don't cater for me at all when it comes to bras.

I don't have any DCs but we are trying and the credit note is valid for a year so you never know Wink

Pure skincare range is fab.
And the Fragonard perfumes are lovely too.

Clueing4looks · 06/01/2015 11:15

Sell the credit note and use the money in a shop you prefer.

zinnia · 06/01/2015 11:28

This leather duffel bag is lovely
www.marksandspencer.com/leather-duffle-cross-body-bag/p/p22319185
though I'd wait till they have one of their 20% off promotions as not sure it's worth the full £80.

Or hang on till the new spring ranges are fully in stock, thought some of their bags for last season were great. The Autograph stuff is worth keeping an eye on as well.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 06/01/2015 13:08

I get lots of work basics from m&s, a few nice dresses but usually need to see in store as styling online is often awful. I have nice biker type boots from there think they were £65, the shorter cotton cardigans are good if work isn't too formal and you can wear a good dress/blouse & skirt with a cardign rather than a jacket. www.marksandspencer.com/bobble-button-cardigan/p/p22236535 again the styling on the site is awful, but with a dress or skirt and top, looks good.

BanoffeeSplitz · 06/01/2015 16:44

Can you use the credit note bit by bit like a gift card?
Look online for decent beauty stuff & get it Click&Collect to your local store.
They have a limited range online - but there is stuff like REN & Dr. Hauschka.
Also some lingerie is only available online - ditto swimwear I think if you can wait that long.
