I have £80 to spend in M&S

I was given some clothes and a handbag for Christmas but the clothes didn't fit and the handbag was ghastly not to my taste so I had to return them. I had no idea they would total £80 Shock but that's what I now have as a credit note. Other than knickers and the odd bag of Percy Pigs I can't think of anything that I have bought from there.

What do you think is worth buying in M&S?

FYI: I am 29 years old.

I bought a cashmere jumper in the sale and got a 10. I thought it came up quite big! Mine was this one and it's gone down in price since I bought it, annoyingly. It's lovely though. It says it's brown but it isn't; it's actually a mauve colour.

I have some cashmere wrist warmers from a couple of years ago and they have been amazing. Highly recommend them, if they still do them.

I popped in yesterday and got a gorgeous cashmere jumper for £43.. bargain! They come up really small so I sized up by 2 sizes and it fits perfectly.. lots of large sizes left..

ice blue was also nice & the lemon - fab colours with jeans..

I do know how to spell really. :) Apologies.

These are nice, if you happen to need work shoes.

I'd buy a huge supply of knickers, autograph tights and l'occitaine hand cream, possibly some pyjamas.

(I don't rate the stay new leggings, bit seethroughy)

OR

I'd mentally allocate the vouchers for summer school uniform, and spend the uniform money on nice things in House of Fraser

Cashmere jumper in the sale?
I agree that their five pocket jeggings are good but you must try them on - they vary a lot between colours and sizes.
Prosecco is lovely.
Roseie silk knickers.
New dressing gown?
They do some nice beauty stuff now too.

I'd definitely spend it in their beauty hall.

Stila make up or perfume. They do the odd good scarf too.

Indigo are a good bet for skinnies. I have some lovely cords from that range - they even cover my bum.

I like their jammies when I can find cotton ones. And their multipack knickers and socks are decent.

I was so suprised that I checked online, and yes indeed M&S have precisely zero bras in a 28 inch back. John Lewis have a small selection, even Debenhams and House of Fraser have a few but M&S have absolutely none.

Annoying, because otherwise it would be quite fun to completely update your underwear drawer so that every day is a posh lingerie day.

Can you use the credit note bit by bit like a gift card?
Look online for decent beauty stuff & get it Click&Collect to your local store.
They have a limited range online - but there is stuff like REN & Dr. Hauschka.
Also some lingerie is only available online - ditto swimwear I think if you can wait that long.

I get lots of work basics from m&s, a few nice dresses but usually need to see in store as styling online is often awful. I have nice biker type boots from there think they were £65, the shorter cotton cardigans are good if work isn't too formal and you can wear a good dress/blouse & skirt with a cardign rather than a jacket. www.marksandspencer.com/bobble-button-cardigan/p/p22236535 again the styling on the site is awful, but with a dress or skirt and top, looks good.

This leather duffel bag is lovely
www.marksandspencer.com/leather-duffle-cross-body-bag/p/p22319185
though I'd wait till they have one of their 20% off promotions as not sure it's worth the full £80.

Or hang on till the new spring ranges are fully in stock, thought some of their bags for last season were great. The Autograph stuff is worth keeping an eye on as well.

Sell the credit note and use the money in a shop you prefer.

Thanks so much for all the replies!

pensionerpeep I agree, you can't go wrong with 45 bags of Percy Pigs Grin think my dentist would have something to say though.

Well I need a new pair of black skinny jeans so I shall take a look at their jeggings etc. and the strappy vests will come in handy too. I would never set foot near the Tape Measure of Discomfort but I'm a 28in back so M&S don't cater for me at all when it comes to bras.

I don't have any DCs but we are trying and the credit note is valid for a year so you never know Wink

They have some strappy cami/vests that have stay new or something. Anyway, they're cheap, a good length, wash well. I bought a few to wear under tops etc

I saw a parka in there today that looked nice. Water proof, looked decent quality.

And I quite like the puffa jacket things they have in at the moment.

Can be good for basic leather shoes - depends on whether you're a good fit for their sizes.

I have a great handbag from them, and a nice watch (I lose / break watches at such an alarming rate that I can't spend serious money on them).

Rosie undies are nice as long as you you fit yourself and don't let any of their fitters near you with the Tape Measure of Discomfort.
