Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

hello all,

hand in is over but was complicated by the matter of me developing a mild bout of the flu! I spoke to the doctor as I was concerned at my symptoms and how quickly they'd come on as I was fine this morning and then within the space of an hour this afternoon, I felt utterly rotten and could barely move and they said it's a mild case of flu and to stay home and rest. i will be better soon, I must be I have plans this weekend so must rest as much as I can for the next couple of days

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/01/2015 19:01

Oh dear One I hope it goes as quickly as it came on. Well done on the hand ins :)

Sleep I am so sorry to hear about the burglary, I hope your Mac stuff was on iCloud but it's the feeling of your space being invaded really isn't it? :(

Just got home after being back at PILs again for a funeral, I drove so that DP could drink, and I'm knackered. It was his DGM and she was such a sweet sweet lady :( ah well it's over now.

Back to work tomorrow and I'm expecting my gold fold-up flats and my Alpha-H to have been delivered so that's good.

Never used Ocado or Waitrose online, I work opposite a Waitrose Blush

muddlingalongquitenicely · 05/01/2015 19:03

Evening everyone sorry to hear about the burglary some people are just digusting.

Well im disappointed with my debenhams purchase at the weekend. I bought some packs of short style pants in my usual size and they were slightly loose but i thought its ok ill take the other packs back and get a smaller size. By the end of the day they were saggy and huge :(

Drywhiteplease · 05/01/2015 19:27

Sleep so sorry to hear that, awful, bastards.
Also love a 7/8 trouser.....I grin and bare it. My work place is very hot so I take big boots for when I need to go outside. I will occasionally relent and do a pop sock but am worried about varicose veins
Shop thank you for making me feel like I haven't lost my fashion mojo.....I often look at styled pics and think Confused

Finally....does anyone else panic when something they fancy seems to be selling fast?......I mean an item you though you'd sleep on suddenly becomes extremely desireable? Like I MUST buy it? I give up on me

BrandyAlexander · 05/01/2015 20:30

Hello! Sorry to post and run! Busy day at work and I left my phone at home. So the top is going to QueenC? Glad it's got a home!

Sleep, I am so so sorry to hear about the burglary. Thanks I have been burgled 3 times in 2 different homes and the sense of violation is awful. I am now really paranoid and have the burglar alarm linked to the police station plus CCTV all around the outside which we can look at remotely on iPads etc.

It's been a rude awakening return back to our usual routines. I was having a difficult time with dd before Christmas. We have had a lovely couple of weeks together. Tonight has been a struggle.Sad

Karbea · 05/01/2015 20:41

fedup no it didn't hurt! but I was a bit stupid as I'd had quite a lot of watercress in a homemade soup which meant I bled more than I should of done.
I've been busy with hemsley today, made blueberry coconut flour pancakes for brekkie, some muffins, chicken broth and fish with celeriac chips (yum! Who knew!). Stuffed now, not sure the diet is going well lol!

Fedupnagging · 05/01/2015 21:12

Blair sorry to hear you had a funeral to go to today. They are always so emotionally draining. Hope your dp is ok.

Novice sounds like your dd is upset at the change of routine again; no doubt she will settle down soon. In the meantime, you may need Wine Wink.

Karbea, love homemade watercress soup but had no idea it thinned the blood!

Am watching Mapp & Lucia - loving all the clothes especially the cloche hats.

OneLittleLady · 05/01/2015 21:22

thank you blair I'm sure with a day of rest tomorrow and a good few doses of Lemsip, I'll be right as rain. I need to be for wednesday anyway, I have an exam! and Thanks for you and your Dp blair, I hope you are both okay

libertychick · 05/01/2015 22:00

Hugs for you novice. Sounds tough. It will all settle again in a week or two Flowers

Drywhiteplease · 05/01/2015 22:41

Novice holidays are great for children but they always seem to unsettle them a bit! getting out of the routine etc? give it a few days and she'll be ok I promise. Smile

I'm thinking I could copy pink without the bump, snow, beanie and aviators and the Chanel bagSad ok, basically I have a black skinny ribbed Uniqlo polo neck, an old Boden boyfriend style cardigan in stone, black skinnies, black Pettys and Shop's Burberry scarf, not forgetting the black Disco. See twins, TWINS!!!!!!

Drywhiteplease · 05/01/2015 22:43

Apologies...you may have noticed that my iPad decides what punctuation I'm allowed to use ....random ! And ? ..... And, I realise Pink is not wearing aviators, wouldn't want you to think that I'm a fashion idiot or anything. Grin

Drywhiteplease · 05/01/2015 22:49

And finally, Amber I've just seen your Jimmy Choo Christmas shoes....simply divine, gorgeous.....LOVE!

Drywhiteplease · 05/01/2015 22:50

J CREW!!!!!! Ahhhhhh. I give up. Off to bed.

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2015 06:32

Sleep that's awful, you poor things, it must have been a shock.

Blair Thanks

Finally ordered the pjs from hush. Not much of a discount, after all that sales hype. I suppose they are nice pjs.

AmberNectarine · 06/01/2015 07:41

I got Choos for my birthday dry, easy mistake to make. Yes they are rather nice, aren't they? :) DH/Santa knows me well.

bettykt · 06/01/2015 07:57

Blair Flowers

Dry Grin

Amber those JCrew shoes are divine Envy

Marsha which pjs did you buy? I'm holding off looking at the website in case the ones I ordered are now in the sale.

Talking of JCrew am still waiting for my plaid shirt, Dannie pants and black Tippi Hmm

Ordered this black silk vest I've been looking for a simple black top for ages and hope this is the one.

Wfh again today so no style news atm, still in pjs.

sleepwhenidie · 06/01/2015 08:08

Dry I get that with the iPad and phone too, so annoying.

Thanks for all the burglary sympathy, luckily the DC's haven't clocked on to what happened (Mac has gone for 'servicing') as they are pretty sensitive at the best of times. It's unsettled me though, and yesterday morning I developed a crippling headache - I never usually get headaches - still there this morning. We are now looking into getting CCTV too Novice.

I need to catch up on links, especially Amber's Choos Smile

Karbea I am impressed with your commitment to the Hemsley food! How were the pancakes? Need to try that. DS1 is so congested after flu, completely deaf. I know GP will give more AB's which I would rather avoid, he has agreed, bless him, to 3 strict sugar free days to see if it helps. Naked weetabix this morning as bananas weren't even ripe Confused. He got through it . Now sent to school without his usual biscuit Sad.

Novice I agree with Marsha re holidays unsettling the DC's, they love coming home but then you have the going back to school separation etc. Sure it will get better, remember to put the girls only dates on the diary, my DD always got so excited on the one day a week I collected her from school (I usually get ds1 as it's a drive away ) and we would go for hot choc or cupcakes. It definitely reduced the acting up for apparently no reason Smile.

How are you feeling this morning One?

shopafrolic · 06/01/2015 09:17

New kids starting in DS' school nursery this term means a v busy playground and loads of new mums. Style highlight was the pink hair, onesie and electronic cigarette look - I felt positively overdressed in Gap skinnies, Uniqlo navy crew cashmere and LKB boots with parka. Hmm

shopafrolic · 06/01/2015 09:18

Sleep I went into organiser mode after our burglary sorting insurance etc. Then 4 days later I started crying and couldn't stop for 24 hours. Look after yourself. x

Stokey · 06/01/2015 10:02

Sounds like an eyeful at 9 in the morning Shop.
Mine was the usual stress of first day back trying to get everyone out of the house with both saying they had tummy aches and didn't want to go to school/nursery. Poor things, it is an adjustment.

Hope you're feeling a bit better one.

I've just filled a basket with 3 jumpers, a long-sleeved t, a dress and pyjama bottoms in the Hush sale and then seen it's no free returns in sales time so not sure what to do now. My plan was to buy it all, try it and send half back, but seems a bit pricey if I have to pay for it. Hmmm.

AmberNectarine · 06/01/2015 10:04

Like a tool I thought they went back yesterday - they did not! DS was happy to go though and DD is looking forward to afternoon nursery. I am looking forward to a bit of peace!!

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2015 10:25

I'm okay, holding myself together instead of collapsing in a big ball of fluey tears and wailing 'i'm siiiiiiiiiiiiick come look after me!!' still feel pretty rotten but painkillers and just resting seem to be working.

QueenCardigan · 06/01/2015 10:25

Ugh, I have d&v and feel utterly dreadful. Just about to drag myself out of bed and attempt an ice lolly. The good news though is that we've booked 2 weeks in Majorca in the summer. I'm going to need a whole new summer wardrobe Grin

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2015 11:13

ahh poor you QueenC hope you feel better son Thanks

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2015 11:13
