Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

love love love those heels QueenC

Really like the ones you've shown a picture of too Muddling

Topazandpearl · 06/01/2015 20:04

Hope you feel better soon QueenC, betty and One (and good luck for your exam tomorrow. Great watch - when is your birthday?)

Lovely purchases Dry and that highstreetoutlet website looks useful.

Love those shoes muddling.

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2015 20:11

Muddling I don't actually have a work bag. I need to get one, but I'm really bad at spending on work things. Really bad, took me ages to buy a blazer and that's only because it's not too worky and Marant and I love the look of it enough.

Anyway, if I ever get round to buying one I might look at Smythson sales.

I rang them today to return something and heard the name said for the first time can you believe it I have been pronouncing it incorrectly in my head all this time. Felt amazed.

QueenC I adore the LKB ones. So pretty.

Dry lovely stuff.

Great watch One

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/01/2015 20:20

How do you pronounce it Marsha? Not like Smithson then I take it - the other way? I've never heard it said either!

Muddling love the colour blocking on those shoes but wow they look high. So often Zara do great heels but they are always like 5.5"?!

Thanks all for the good wishes re yesterday.

QueenC and One hope you both feel better soon. And One hope it goes well tomorrow. Love the watch, it's very you and will go with your whole wardrobe I bet!

Good work buys Dry, I hadn't heard of that outlet site.

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2015 20:21

I've always said Smith-son in my head

It's Smythe-son!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/01/2015 20:26

Ahhh sort of makes sense - the posh way Grin

People who have done/are doing the HoC style day... how many items to take? My consultant has asked me to bring examples of things I love, and also things I don't wear but can't get rid of. Not just clothes though, she also wants bags, shoes and accessories/jewellery! She said some people take small wheely suitcases. Would this be crazy? is it the more items the better or will she only really need to see a few?

Sorry to everyone who's sick of hearing about HoC :)

Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2015 20:31

No one says Smythe-son do they? Bugger I've been saying it wrong too!
Muddling it drives me nuts when you see something lovely in an editorial! then find it's not available yet.

Karbea · 06/01/2015 20:37

Lovely pieces everyone.
Beautiful watch.
The hoc lady made contact today, I'm waiting for her to send me her available slots.
More hemsley food for me today.

Karbea · 06/01/2015 20:39

I've always said smithson.
Very interesting that you have to take stuff to hoc.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 06/01/2015 20:40

Dry I often find things I like in magazines and can never find them in the shops! I even tweeted asda once as i saw a top in a magazine and searched high and low in the shops nearest to me, never did find that top and asda never got back to me after their original response.

QueenCardigan · 06/01/2015 20:42

blair I took loads of stuff. A good selection of things I loved and also a few bits that I found didn't work so well. I think she found it really useful to be able to work me out.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/01/2015 20:55

Thanks QueenC, that's good to know. I'll probably limit myself to a small case, and see how much I can fit in, especially shoes wise.

Only for the style day Karbea - are you going to try and do both in the same day like lib?

libertychick · 06/01/2015 21:09

Blair the lady I have booked with has asked me to bring one thing I love, one I hate and one I am not sure about. I don't own anything I hate but I am going to bring 2 or 3 things I love and 2 or 3 that I'm not sure about. Also going to bring some accessories, I have lots of necklaces and bracelets that I never wear. I'm going to bring my full make up bag too so I can compare the shades of lipstick, blushers and eyeshadows I have to the ones they recommend.

For those who have done it, is the info they give you to take away good or should I bring a notebook and pen and take my own notes? I am aware from what people here have said and on other threads that doing the two together is a lot of info to take in so I am wondering if taking some notes would help.

Weirdly I am feeling nervous about it now. I have a vision of myself sitting on my bed after it staring in despair at a wardrobe with nothing in it that suits me

Well done on finding your perfect camel skirt Dry!
Great watch One

Awks · 06/01/2015 21:09

I bet they just answer Smythe-son on the phone to mess with your heads Grin Noone would actually say that, surely. Its like no one calls Nisa Nicer.

Dry those Agatha flats are lovely

Awks · 06/01/2015 21:11

Yes that watch is gorgeous, One and hope you feel better soon. You've had a rare old time of it.

libertychick · 06/01/2015 21:11

Or else it was a new junior in the customer service office trying to pretend to be posh...

shopafrolic · 06/01/2015 21:13

I say Smythe not Smith - yay me
QueenC I haven't worn my heels yet but only because my pre Xmas posh do got cancelled if you remember. I reckon they'll come into their own in the Spring with boyfriends and a slouchy grey tee. Can't wait to have the chance to wear them.

OP posts:
santamarianovella · 06/01/2015 21:17

Can someone do an audio record of smith vs smyth as I think the non native speakers such as myself, are lost

libertychick · 06/01/2015 21:19

If anyone is looking for new sports wear I got some grey patterned leggings and an Elle Sport pale grey T in TKMaxx today (honestly, I don't work for them!). Sleep there are some great bright patterned capri length and full length ones in the shops and on the website that you might like.

shopafrolic · 06/01/2015 21:21

Lib I haven't done the style day as you know but I did sit on the bed and pretty much cry when I was diagnosed as a Winter. Then I was ecstatic as I preferred the colours, then I freaked out again! Grin
Can't wait to hear your results.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 06/01/2015 21:24

Smith as you would expect. Smythe rhymes with writhe or lithe.

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2015 21:24

Santa think...."sm...eye....thson". V Smith as in WH Smith.
We need to contact Smythson

AmberNectarine · 06/01/2015 21:24

blair my friend who is a HoC consultant says that how much you take can be indicative of your CP, so go with whatever you feel appropriate. You can always show pins etc. I took, I think, 3 items I loved and 3 that didn't work.

Karbea · 06/01/2015 21:25

I'm not sure whether to do both on the same day or not. I thought someone said it was best to do one and then digest what was said and then go back after a while.
I'm tempted to do both at the same time although I do think I know what suits me watched too much trinny and susannah

Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2015 21:25

I had an argument with a friend about the pronunciation of the Range Rover Evoque.....ended up sending her YouTube film of the official unveiling .....PEDANT!!!
