I get this I think it can be to do with the mineral content of your foundation or concealer....

StellaGibson · 29/12/2014 09:05

have you tried the clinique lash power stuff? it's the only mascara i can wear that doesn't give me panda eyes. Every other type does.

hazelnutlatte · 29/12/2014 09:09

Have you tried Clinique lash power mascara? It's the only one I've ever used which doesn't leave me with flaky bits under my eyes. It's a bit of a pain to remove though as eye makeup remover doesn't work - you have to sort of pull it off your eyelashes using warm water and a flannel.
If you are looking for something less expensive I think it's a 'tubing' mascara. Other more knowledgable people might be able to suggest another similar brand.

hazelnutlatte · 29/12/2014 09:09

Doh cross post!

FairyBiker · 29/12/2014 09:11

You need tube mascara! Seriously
It stays on all day, and doesn't budge.
The best one I've found is superdrug own brand B.

sassytheFIRST · 29/12/2014 09:13

Estée Lauder doublewear. The only one not to smudge on me. Expensive but worth every penny.

AutomaticShoes · 29/12/2014 09:16

Yep, tube mascara is your friend! On reading these boards I went for loreal double extension... It has red and white packaging and you do a white undercoat and then black on top. Sounds like it's similar to the clinique one to take off....hot water on a face cloth, held on for a few seconds and then it comes off like eyelashes on the cloth. Doesn't panda eye me at all and that's saying something!

Fishandjam · 29/12/2014 09:17

I have this problem too - caused by oily skin. Bourjois Volume Clubbing (I think it's called) waterproof mascara works for me. It's a bit of a sod to get off though!

Aridane · 29/12/2014 09:18

Lancome waterproof mascara (if they still do it). I wore it once when kayaking in rough seas, and when sweating loeads (plus getting splashed) - and no smudges!

PS Only wore it by mistake - ie because forgot to take it off, not because I put on mascara before kayaking

Millli · 29/12/2014 09:18

Do you use Waterproof? Also don't put anything greasy or oily around the eye area.

PlumpingUpPartridge · 29/12/2014 10:16

Ok, i assume tubing mascara doesn't just, like, come in a tube?

Waterproof mascara is no different to any other on me, and i wear no foundation/concealer.

Another vote for Clinique Lash Power! I try others, but they always smudge.

It's a tubing mascara, so it forms little tubes of 'lash' at the ends of your actual lashes, rather than black paint. And they get removed with warm water, and the tubes sort of slip off.

Kittykat7 · 29/12/2014 10:54

I have the same problem. I tried the tubing ones but still got flakes & smudging. I hated the removal as I like my eye makeup remover to dissolve the mascara on a cotton pad. I didn't like rubbing my lashes.
I'm currently using an Elizabeth Arden Volume mascara & it's not smudging. It doesn't give much volume more of a natural look. I going to try Urban Decay Perversion mascara next.

diddlediddledumpling · 29/12/2014 11:14

i get this if i use my eye balm in the morning and then put makeup on. the eye balm is quite greasy and so the mascara dissolves in it and ends up round my eyes. it doesnt make any difference what kind of mascara i use.
i now only use the eye balm at night, problem solved.

Shop · 29/12/2014 13:38

I get this too only ones which don't do this are bourjois volume clubbing and bare minerals flawless definition.
I've tried loads of others and it makes no difference what foundation or concealer or eye cream i use.

angeltreats · 29/12/2014 13:41

I have the same problem and also love Bourjois volume clubbing, the waterproof one. Pain in the arse to remove but doesn't budge all day.

LosBreakingBad · 29/12/2014 14:27

I have this problem. The only mascara not to do it is Benefit They're Real. My friend gave me the latest Lancôme one for Xmas. My panda eyes are back. I will go back to my Benefit.

lisaloulou84 · 29/12/2014 14:49

Second they're real by benefit. Finished working for them pre baby and had enough freebies to last me through till now, need to buy one this week and will wince at the price but I could not go back to another mascara!

ElleMcFearsome · 29/12/2014 15:23

Another vote for They're Real. Went to DFIL's grave on Xmas Eve. Sobbed. Went to the rest of ILs for supper. Mascara intact. AND it doesn't give me a headache the way every single other mascara does after half an hour.

cate16 · 29/12/2014 15:36

I use a tubing one, but you do have to be careful - its fantastic as long as I don't start 'fiddling' or rubbing my eyes, as then it seem to make my eyes scratchy. I'm guessing small flakes can get in the eyes.
I just leave a warm cotton wool pad on my eyes for about 20seconds then it all comes gently away- certainly no rubbing it off.

Deux · 29/12/2014 15:58

I suffer from this too and the one that works best for me is Clinique Lash Power. As well as hot water, I've found I can remove it with jojoba oil on a cotton wool pad dampened with hot water, no scrubbing needed.

Edie21 · 29/12/2014 18:21

Lancome waterproof is the only one that stays on for me

Branleuse · 29/12/2014 18:31

theyre real gave me terrible pandas. I like clinique lash power & EL doublewear mascara.
I just cannot scrimp on mascara at all.

Botanicbaby · 29/12/2014 18:53

i detest those 'tubing' mascaras, they always make my eyes itchy and then I hate the feeling of not being able to get the mascara off my lashes. horrid.

My best mascara find is Max Factor 2000 calorie however I don't have oily skin so not sure if it would have the same staying power. I like Benefit Bad Gal also. Not keen on waterproof mascaras.
