Is there a good alternative to Mitchum Antipersprant Spray

WalkingThePlank · 19/12/2014 13:27

I have used Mitchum for as long as I can remember but the new style spray mechanism keeps breaking. My latest one has lasted about 3 squirts!

Is there a good effective deodorant that anyone can recommend as an alternative?

All the smelly adults /teens in this house use it, (different variations /smells, so quite a few on the go at any one time) haven't had an issue with any breaking. Sadly haven't any suggestions for an alternative though.

I always put my hand up on these threads as being a right old sweater. And here I am again!
I am quite liking the Sure Stress-something one at the moment.

WalkingThePlank · 19/12/2014 13:37

Thank you both. I've had 4 break. Its so odd. Thanks Zebra for the recommendation. Will look it up.

Have you complained to Mitcham /Revlon? I would.

WalkingThePlank · 19/12/2014 13:43

I just have. They're sending me some vouchers but if I can't get the product out of the can its not much good.

Not a spray but Triple Dry is amazing and has solved a big sweaty issue for my Dh and DSs. Roll on to be used at night after washing , honestly it's incredible

TheSpottedZebra · 19/12/2014 13:45

I like the Mitchum stick too. In fact I don't like the Mitchum spray it just seems to fall off my skin!
Or maybe you could use the vouchers on other Revlon stuff?

maybemyrtle · 19/12/2014 14:01

I don't like sprays but I do use the Mitchum solid stick for exercising or hot weather. Works a treat.

CupCakesAreCrap · 19/12/2014 14:09

Mitchum roll on, I find the stick breaks after a while.

FoodPorn · 19/12/2014 14:26

Mitchum roll on here too

WalkingThePlank · 19/12/2014 15:57

I did use the roll-on many years ago but it took ages to dry which meant I got my clothes dirty as I got dressed. Has it got quicker at drying or would I have to factor in additional time for drying?

Mitchum stick user here. DD uses Triple Dry.

FoodPorn · 19/12/2014 16:10

It takes a while to dry sadly but is very effective

RojaGato · 19/12/2014 16:38

Crystal deodorant spray

ouryve · 19/12/2014 16:41

In what way has the spray mechanism broken?

I dropped a can, a while back, and the whole spray thing shattered. Thankfully, I found the middle of it and stuck that over the tube and it actually works

tallulah · 19/12/2014 17:04

I use the Sure and Dove stick deodorant (cost about £5). You're supposed to put it on at night and it is fantastic.

WalkingThePlank · 19/12/2014 19:33

Ouryve, it just stops spraying. You need to put so much pressure on it that the last can had me pushing down with my whole right hand whilst balancing it on my window sill. This gets a minimal amount of spray into my left armpit. I can't put enough pressure on it with my left hand to do my right arm pit and I can't do this at the gym!

Roja, I definitely need an antiperspirant rather than a deodorant Blush

I use Mitchum roll on and it's not too bad for drying / getting on clothes. I keep it in the bathroom and put it on as soon as I dry myself out if the shower. By the time I've put moisturiser in and cleaned my teeth and dressed from the bottom up its dry enough to put my top on.

PinkSparklyJumboStocking · 19/12/2014 21:17

I use the Mitchum stick as I couldn't get on with the spray and the roll on takes too long to dry.

To those of you who use the Sure or Dove sticks, can you use them at any time (I don't understand how they work) as I tend to shower in the morning?

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 19/12/2014 21:20

Both DH and I have found Mitchum stopped working so we both use the sure maximum protection cream. A friend just asked my advice as she's found the Mitchum isn't as good as it was and has just started with the sure too

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 19/12/2014 21:22

It recommends using at night but I just stick it on in the morning/ after a shower

PinkSparklyJumboStocking · 19/12/2014 21:28

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'm off to Florida in a few months and I spent my last trip convinced I had smelly armpits as I was so hot!

WalkingThePlank · 21/12/2014 16:40

I had a spare new can of Mitchum. That one's bust too.

Probably a stupid question, but you have noticed that they changed the spray bit haven't you? It now has a lock mechanism. You have to turn the top so it is lined up with the hole.
