Boden bootcut - low rise - are they abit mumsy?
Also has anyone bought Boden velvet straight legs? Have never bought trousers from boden? have always thought they'd be abit "sensible"

Boden trousers are, IME (hope that's right, am new to this), good quality and fit well, but you need the L length if you're anything other than teeny. I'm 5'5 and the R length is too short for me. As for sensible and mumsy, can't really say, it kind of depends on your style. Oh, and I've got some black moleskin ones: best avoided unless you like the fluffy, linty look, though they are dead cosy and well cut. Pity...

Don't mention Boden to me atm, please! I was really pleased to get 2 t-shirts that I ordered from the sale section even though they'd shown on the website as being unavailable. When they arrived, I was disappointed to see that instead of a tag at the neck, they've printed Boden size Medium or whatever in blue at the back below where the tag would normally be and as they are white t-shirts and not that thick, it shows through! How did that get past the proof stage, and why do they bother wasting my time, theirs and my postage costs in sending them to me when I clearly don't want someone saying "You've got a mark on your back. It looks like writing." Doh!

Rant over. I should be able to answer the question as I've bought lots of Boden trousers in the past, but I'm so miffed, I can't think straight. If you were to buy low rise trousers, I'd get your tops elsewhere other than Boden unless you want a couple of inches of tummy showing.

got jeans in the summer , so comfy and a lovely fit, legs look slim mand long
got cords last year in the boot cut - fine no complaints
and have a pair of chinos too - again fine, boot leg
dont cut you on the waist and give you a short arse.

addictedtoshopping · 11/10/2006 19:39

yes ivor the engine - their tops look like midriff tops on me too! it has always put me off buying their trsrs as am 5'9" and am scared even the long length will look like cropped pants

i'm a firm believer in buying jeans from an expert - a company that just makes jeans.

I would agree - my current faves are True Religion and Paige, however being around the house all day with 2 kids - theyre too expensive to ruin. Get my skinnys from Gap but dont like the long and lean cut so wondered if Bodens would be alright for just knocking about the house. Not sure know though

in or out of the house, addicted, you should always wear great jeans. how knackered can jeans get?

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 19:46

malory, i think gap is great for jeans on the day you buy them, but they have never stayed the same shape and fit ime. they have either shrunk or sagged, despite cold or 30 degree washes (i now only ever wash jeans cold).

TutterIckOrTreat · 11/10/2006 19:49

malory, maybe it was my arse that grew/sagged, rather than the jeans then

I love Gap.
Tried a pair of Boden Sassy jeans in the summer and they were an excellent, flattering fit. Will probably buy next season.

cupsnakes · 11/10/2006 19:52

all jeans become uncomfortably snug on me when I tumbledry.
